00:00The prosecution has undertaken to make convicted former Goldman Sachs banker Roger Ng available for an interview with Najib Razak's legal team.
00:12The undertaking was tendered by Deputy Public Prosecutor Kamal Baharin Omar at the former Prime Minister's 1MDB trial in the Kuala Lumpur High Court today.
00:23Lawyer Shafi'i Abdullah, representing Najib, said the defense would have to meet Ng first and would call him as a witness if deemed fit.
00:34Last year, Najib's lawyers informed the court that the defense intended to file an application to interview Ng.
00:42Ng was sentenced by a New York court to 10 years in prison after a jury found him guilty of corruption in March 2023.
00:50He was repatriated to Malaysia in October that year to assist local authorities in their bid to recover 1MDB assets.
