00:00Malaysia and China have long stood shoulder to shoulder in moments of triumph and in times of trial,
00:10not merely as comprehensive strategic partners but as steadfast friends.
00:17Ours is a relationship forged in understanding and sustained by the enduring belief that we go further when we walk together,
00:27not only for ourselves but for the peace and prosperity of our region.
00:34More than a decade has passed since Presidency's last visit.
00:39The world may have shifted in many ways, but the friendship between Malaysia and China has remained firm and steadfast,
00:50renewed through dialogue and affirmed through action.
00:54China remains our most significant trading partner.
00:59Its presence felt in the very arteries of our development,
01:05from the flow of goods and ideas to the transformation of our energy, infrastructure and innovation.
01:13Yet, the true strength, Presidency, of this relationship lies beyond trade figures or tourist statistics.
01:25It rests on a profound understanding that prosperity to endure must be shared,
01:33and that trust, once cultivated, must be tendered with care, patience and commitment.
01:39Under your leadership, Mr. President, China has outlined a series of global initiatives and reflect a distinctive worldview.
01:49The Belt and Road Initiative reimagines connectivity not as a network of roads and rails,
01:57but as a framework for cooperation.
01:59The Global Development Initiative underscores the importance of inclusive progress.
02:04The Global Security Initiative calls for peace through dialogue.
02:10And the Global Civilization Initiative, unprecedented, unique in the leadership of the world today,
02:21but espoused clearly by President Xi.
02:24That initiative offers a timely reminder that respect for difference is not a barrier to harmony,
02:34but its precondition.
02:36With China, we have actualized the axiom holding together civilizational dialogue such as Islam and Confucianism
02:45to strengthen further the bonds of understanding underscores the importance of stressing our commonalities
02:52in the pursuit of shared values of harmony and prosperity.
02:59And today, at a time when multilateralism is under tremendous strain,
03:06when some nations abandon the principles of shared responsibility,
03:11and others question long-standing commitments,
03:16China's Global Initiative offers a new lease on hope.
03:20They look outward, not inward.
03:23They speak not of rivalry, but of renewal.
03:27What we are witnessing today is not an honest reckoning with the imperfections of globalization,
03:36but the retreat into economic tribalism.
03:39Market access is being weaponized.
03:43What was once a multilateral convenant for shared growth,
03:49now buckles under the weight of arbitrary disruption and unilateral whip.
03:55In these trying times, the world yearns for steadiness, reliability, and purpose.
04:05We see this in China's conduct.
04:07Malaysia acknowledges such steadiness with quiet recognition
04:12and is conscious not only of the calm it has brought,
04:18but of the hope it may continue to offer.
04:21China is a civilization whose history stretches back over five millennia.
04:27A nation that has withstood the tempest of time and emerged time and again,
04:36not diminished, but refortified, yet refined.
04:41Her strength lies not only in the scale of her achievements,
04:45but in her capacity to endure, to weather disruption with poise,
04:52and to respond to uncertainty with purpose.
04:57Amid this turbulence, China has been a rational, strong, and reliable partner.
05:05Malaysia values this consistency.
05:08Malaysia will remain an unwavering and principled friend to China,
05:16guided by the wisdom of history and the promise of the future.
05:20Our foreign policy is shaped by a clear-eyed vision of our interests.
05:27We do not simply favor cooperation over confrontation.
05:31We embrace it.
05:32We do not merely prefer respect over rivalry.
05:35We uphold it.
05:37And we choose dialogue, not simply because it choose us,
05:41but as a cornerstone of lasting peace and prosperity.
05:45We accept it.
05:58Westr Regarded by the wisdom of God and Teaching
