00:00So many incredible fights have taken place in this building in Atlantic City, New Jersey.
00:11Holyfield Foreman, Tyson, Spinks, Pavlik, Taylor, Gotti, Ward, ladies and gentlemen.
00:18Dare we expect another thriller?
00:20This is for the Unified Welterweight Championship of the World.
00:25Amatis Stanionis and Jaron Boots Ennis.
00:29Could we see a fight of the year contender?
00:32Here we go.
00:3412 championship rounds between two undefeated champions.
00:41You see Amatis Stanionis is going to try to set the pace of this fight early.
00:46He is a pressure fighter and wants to come forward all night long.
00:49And you can see Boots Ennis coming out from that orthodox stance, right-handed.
00:53I personally think he's a better southpaw.
00:56And against fighters like Stanionis, you want to give him the different lifts.
01:00You want to give him a different perspective.
01:05You know, he probably expected Boots to come out southpaw coming out orthodox.
01:09And you see Boots early on aiming a little bit for that midsection.
01:12That's the one area that's open in this sort of shell of defense that Stanionis fights in.
01:17Stanionis' motto in this fight, all gas, no brakes.
01:24He promises to take the fight to Boots and not go backwards.
01:29Yeah, but with a motto like that, all gas, no brakes, you're bound to run into an accident, you know?
01:34Guys like Boots, they love that kind of stuff.
01:37That's food for them, man.
01:38Stanionis seems to be smart with that pressure, which he is.
01:41That's the thing about him, and behind that ramrock jab, but you can see that Boots is looking for that uppercut already.
01:48I mean, stabbing him down with the jabs to set up that right uppercut.
01:52Those are money punches by Boots.
01:54And that uppercut got a smile out of Stanionis, who again, his wife is due any day with a baby.
02:02That's what he was due three days ago.
02:03I love that body shot around the guard by Boots.
02:09In his last fight.
02:11Oh, nice counter left from Stanionis.
02:13His last fight, Stanionis, he kind of got touched up in the body in those middle rounds.
02:17I love the fact that Ennis is already touching that body early.
02:20The criticism for Boots in his last fight is that he was getting hit too often and too cleanly.
02:29Because he fights to his competition, man.
02:31He needs to be motivated.
02:32He's not motivated by a guy that he went 24 rounds with.
02:35You can definitely see how sharp he is against Stanionis.
02:38He's not going to get touched in this fight.
02:41Unless Stanionis forces him to get touched.
02:44And you can see right now, Stanionis is not really throwing the shots that he normally have custom throwing so early.
02:50And Chris Boots looks bigger, doesn't he?
02:52Yeah, he looks like he's rehydrated really well.
02:54And that's a part of this.
02:55For the last three or four fights, Boots Ennis has fought under IBF rules,
02:59which has required a 10-pound rehydration the next day.
03:03Because this is a unification fight, that 10-pound rehydration clause goes out the window.
03:08So he's been able to rehydrate perhaps a little bit more going into this fight.
03:12Yeah, he was asked yesterday what he was going to have for breakfast the day of the fight.
03:15He said everything.
03:16Yeah, at the weight, he looked like the smaller fighter.
03:19They're thinner.
03:20You can see that Stanionis is bulkier around the midsection, around the torso area.
03:24But rehydration that is key.
03:26And the fact that they don't have to just do 10 pounds and actually do your natural weight,
03:31that's all advantage for John Ennis.
03:33The best feeling in the world.
03:50Is it though?
03:52Is it really better than food ferment?
03:55That warm fuzzy feeling of total food satisfaction.
03:59Like finishing the last bite of the flame grilled whopper from Burger King.
04:05He's right.
04:06Okay, see you later.
04:09Ta-ta.
04:20And this is what you want to see from Anders right here.
04:23Around the guard, that body shot right there.
04:24Didn't look like much, but that's going to set up uppercuts.
04:27The farther this fight goes because the pressure is only going to get more consistent.
04:31And hooks like that, those are the two best punches from Montes Stenionis.
04:35So the uppercuts and hooks, the longer this fight goes, the more violent it's going to get.
04:40He heard Drom Vuce and his father tell him, hey, he's ducking his head.
04:44Try and catch him with that uppercut.
04:46Yeah, that's how you turn that high guard.
04:49That peekaboo defense against him.
04:51He hunches over and he has a way for the uppercut to land.
05:00Lutz has been able to keep Stenionis at bay with that long jab.
05:04Yeah, which is fended off the jab of Stenionis, which is his best weapon.
05:09He's one of the best jabbers in all of boxing.
05:12Lands about 10 jabs per round, connects at about a 36% connect rate.
05:16That's a major weapon for him.
05:18Not just in scoring shots, but setting up others.
05:20Not only that, but you're using your advantages.
05:23Your height, your six-inch reach.
05:24That's what you want to do if you're a boost right now.
05:26Keep this fight in the middle of the ring.
05:27Stay off the ropes and keep popping that jab.
05:29And looking for that left uppercut.
05:31See, this is gonna be a fight where, of course, the matador is gonna have the advantage over the bull
05:41because the bull has slower feet.
05:42Stenionis has slower feet, flatter feet, and he cuts off the ring really great going to his right.
05:47But as a softball, Boots going to his right, he's not as easy as cutting off the ring going to the left.
06:02See right there, when Boots went to his left, he kind of tripped up a little bit, Stenionis.
06:08This is the ninth consecutive fight in which Stenionis is facing both height and reach disadvantages.
06:14And it's two inches taller, six-inch reach advantage. Nice left from Stenionis.
06:18And then a right.
06:20That's the criticism we have in Ennis. It was a beautiful combination.
06:23Throw five, six punches, but got hit with one big shot.
06:26And Stan Boots landed a good body shot there in that exchange.
06:31This is the fight we thought we'd see.
06:33Stenionis constantly trying to come forward and Ennis trying to cut him off at the pass.
06:37Yeah, no feeling out between these two guys. Just going straight at it.
06:45Stiff jab from Stenionis, who says boxing is all about timing.
06:50Everything revolves around that shotgun jab of Stenionis.
06:53But if he can't have a stationary target to land, it's going to be a lot harder to track down Ennis.
06:59That was another good body shot.
07:02Left hand, right hand, right hand, right hand.
07:04It's going to be all body shots, man. That's how you're going to slow down this tank.
07:07Those body shots, those jabs, movement, lateral, moving to your left, right, switching orthodox.
07:13Southpaw, showing everything you've got.
07:16Stenionis coming off a 336-day absence. Only his second fight in three years.
07:25Stenionis coming off a 336-day absence. Only his second fight in three years.
07:29Who do you want?
07:30It's me.
07:31Your brother.
07:32I know.
07:33Who do you want?
07:45It's me.
07:46Your brother.
07:46I know.
07:47You can't tell from the tone of my voice that I know it's you.
07:49I need your help.
07:52Me to know who killed Ray King.
07:56Do what I want when I want it.
07:58Have gun, will travel.
08:00I guess I hit him harder than I thought.
08:04Are you ready?
08:05Yeah.
08:08It's a family thing.
08:10The Accountant 2 in Cinema's April 25.
08:16Look, Stani Onis right there.
08:17He should be aiming for the body.
08:18Even though he landed a good headshot right there.
08:22That's what Boots is guilty of.
08:24He leaves a head and chin a little bit too exposed.
08:26But this is also what Boots is known for.
08:28Vicious counter shots like that.
08:30Running shots.
08:32Beautiful uppercut.
08:33If that would have happened to the chin, that would have done a lot more damage.
08:35You can expect more uppercuts and sharp counterpunching by Ennis.
08:39Chris, is this fight starting the way you thought it might?
08:42It's starting a little bit faster.
08:43But it's evolving into the fight.
08:45I think I expect it.
08:46And most people expect it.
08:47Good advice between rounds in the corner of Amatis, Stani Ennis.
08:50Marvin Simodio, his long-time trainer, saying if you go throw that jab, you've got to throw
08:55something else behind you.
08:56You've got to let your hands go when you're exchanging.
09:04There's those jabs you were calling for earlier from Stani Onis, Sergio.
09:07Yeah, but see, he needs to do it.
09:09He needs to punch with Ennis.
09:11Ennis has a slightly faster hand.
09:13So if you're going to be...
09:14Stani Onis is either blocking or he's jabbing.
09:17He's going to have to do a little bit of bolt at the same time.
09:23Trying that wind-up uppercut, did Ennis?
09:25That's going to be his punch.
09:26No doubt about it.
09:27Now, Ennis is just...
09:28He's shining right now, man.
09:30I mean, everything's just so smooth.
09:31He's not overloading on punches either.
09:38It feels like we're seeing a decreased output from Stani Onis that we've seen in previous fights.
09:44He's still blocking Boots down, but unlike what we saw against Butaev and Maestrei,
09:48he's not letting his hands go in those situations.
09:51Boots is getting a little cute here, isn't he?
09:53Made a right hand there in the corner.
09:55I mean, that's how he always falls.
09:56Oh, he's not left-handed going to call it a knockdown.
09:59No, he says it's behind the head.
10:01A lot of the Lithuanians here in the arena,
10:04and there are a pretty good contingent of them voicing their displeasure.
10:09No, Boots is so talented that he just takes his talent for granted, man.
10:12And sometimes he just gets a little, I guess, lazy is a word,
10:16but a little overconfident, and that's when he can get checked.
10:21And that left uppercut is landing consistently.
10:24Those are hard shots by Anis.
10:30See, that's the problem with that high-guard defense.
10:33You know, defense like Winky Wright had and, you know,
10:36fighters like Ike Korte and Cloudy, they didn't get knocked out.
10:40You know, guys like that didn't get knocked out, but they got bruised up.
10:42They got beat.
10:43They got out-pointed by fighters that are content hitting the gloves,
10:46going around the gloves, and, of course, stabbing the body.
10:48Boots' team felt that...
10:52Oh, nice jab there from Stanionis.
10:55Boots' team felt that Stanionis could bring out the best of in us,
10:59that we haven't seen the best of Boots yet
11:01because no one has taken him to that next level.
11:04Can this Lithuanian be the man to do it?
11:07He's grinding and lands a right hand, but a counter left for Boots.
11:09And that's what Stanionis needs to do.
11:11He landed a counter right on his own.
11:13He punched with Boots.
11:14He's going to have to go through the fire.
11:15Both of them landed, big right hands.
11:18Boots clearly has more pop.
11:21That's for sure.
11:2229 knockouts in his 33 wins.
11:48My God, listen.
11:51When you inside, when you inside, yo.
11:56Yo, when you inside, I want you to have his hand up
11:59and rip the elbow cut off and bring that back up.
12:02Shoot your thumb, bring it back up.
12:04Keep using that jab, Boots.
12:05I know.
12:06Let me see some spray shots sometime.
12:08Put the combination.
12:10There's that shot.
12:11That's what they're telling him right now.
12:12You got to be careful with those shots going up top,
12:14especially when you're against the ropes.
12:19But I love these uppercuts that he's throwing from far,
12:22but he needs to set up those uppercuts.
12:24And you can see that left hook around the head,
12:26pushing him down.
12:27That was no knocked out.
12:28Good call by the referee.
12:29But right there, that's what he needs to be leery of,
12:34just keeping the head in the exact same place.
12:36More upper body movement for Mendes,
12:38and of course, keep popping that jab.
12:43Three entertaining rounds so far.
12:46Chris has...
12:47Stanionis won any of them.
12:48No, I thought third round was probably his best round
12:51in terms of landed punches,
12:52but I think so far it's been a boot-set-us fight.
12:55Three rounds, the num, 30 to 27.
12:57But this power is just a difference maker at this stage.
13:02Footwork is a difference in this stage, Chris.
13:04I'm telling you, this is...
13:05You got a lot of punches, though.
13:06You got to throw punches.
13:06No, no, I hear you,
13:07but Stanionis can't land a punch
13:09because he can't track down Boots.
13:10The only time he does land is when he throws with him,
13:12and they're both stationary.
13:14Good body shot there by Boots.
13:16Yeah, these investments to the body,
13:17if they keep up, they're going to pay off
13:19in the later rounds.
13:21Stanionis just looks so much smaller
13:23than Boots in there right now.
13:25He's used to that, though.
13:27He brings you my hands.
13:29He brings you my hands.
13:31He brings you my hands.
13:34Stanionis was scheduled to face
13:36Virgil Ortiz Jr. three times.
13:38We talk about Boots avoiding him.
13:40Stanionis had a bout on the first date
13:41because of an emergency appendectomy,
13:43and the next two bouts canceled
13:45after Virgil Ortiz Jr. dealt with illness.
13:48And see, there's another fighter in Virgil Ortiz
13:50that has that high-guard defense
13:52and the same output,
13:53only he doesn't have the same jab
13:55that Stanionis had.
13:56That would have been a monster fight, man,
13:57because right now,
13:59Boots not only has the defense,
14:01the footwork,
14:01but the accuracy and power behind it.
14:07Good right hand from Stanionis.
14:08He's getting his shots in, Chris.
14:11It's just not nearly the same power
14:13that Ennis has on him.
14:15Yeah, he's got to put his combinations together
14:16a little bit more.
14:17Just the body work of Boots.
14:18It's so impressive at this stage,
14:20and he is one of the better body punchers
14:21in all the box.
14:23He's digging down there.
14:29Look, it's slyly switching back
14:31to orthodox stance right now.
14:32Looks like a small cut over the right eye
14:34or under the right eye of Stanionis.
14:38Yeah, Stanionis said he prepared for both styles,
14:40brought in Southpaws and orthodox fighters,
14:43lots of them,
14:43to prepare for this fight.
14:44Yeah, but none of them have this kind of
14:46natural gifted ability, man.
14:48I mean, speed, power,
14:50long arms.
14:54It was a beautiful, beautiful
14:56boxer punch right here.
14:59Boots has told us,
15:00listen, tonight's going to be
15:01my crowning achievement,
15:02my biggest moment.
15:04He envisions himself
15:05finishing Stanionis
15:07and celebrating in front of this
15:09very pro Boots crowd,
15:10and he's given him plenty to cheer about
15:12offensively and defensively.
15:14He is schooling Stanionis so far
15:16as far as making a miss.
15:18I mean, you don't make champions miss
15:19three, four punches in a row like that.
15:25Career high payday for Stanionis.
15:29This is his moment.
15:31Can he cash in?
15:32He's got work to do.
15:35Down!
15:36Down!
15:37Down!
15:38Down!
15:38Down!
15:38Down!
15:38Down!
15:38Down!
15:38Down!
15:38Down!
15:38Down!
15:39Down!
15:39Down!
15:39Down!
15:44Down!
15:45Down!
15:45Yeah.
15:45Down!
15:46Down!
15:47Down!
15:47No!
15:48Down!
15:50Yeah,
15:50I don't know if you're worth it,
15:51right.
15:52I don't know if you have ears,
15:53get caught.
15:53in front of a sellout crowd at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London.
15:57You can see it, Fatal Fury, Eubank Bid, buy it now on DAZN.com.
16:23Round five.
16:41Sergio, what would your advice be to Amano Stonionis right now if you were in his corner?
16:45Well, you got to get physical.
16:47You got to get in there.
16:47You got to fight fire with fire, man.
16:49You're going to get hit on the way in, but you have the white shoulders.
16:53You have those big biceps and forearms.
16:55You have that high guard.
16:56Take the chances, and once you're in there, you got to let it rip, man,
16:59and especially downstairs.
17:01You got to bang away at the body, the ribs, anything that Boots gives you.
17:05Yeah, haven't seen a lot of body work from Stonionis,
17:07certainly not to the level that we've seen from Boots.
17:10Because Aniston's not allowing him.
17:12He's maintaining that range and distance with that long jab.
17:15And, of course, that sharp upper body movement.
17:18I mean, look at that defense.
17:19Here's Stonionis throwing some shots to the waistband.
17:26Trying to grind out some opportunities here in the corner.
17:29Look at the total punches landed.
17:31Enes has landed ten more.
17:38Power punches landed.
17:40Over double for Boots, 35 compared to 14.
17:43Good right hand from Amonis.
17:49Good shot right there.
17:50And then downstairs, upstairs.
17:52That's what you wanted to see when he got inside.
17:53That's exactly what he needs to do.
17:55And what Boots needed to do, better pick up that left hand.
17:57Well, nice left.
17:58This is the best round for Stonionis by far.
18:01Boots better pick up that left hand.
18:03He's getting lazy with that, dropping that hand.
18:05Stonionis is catching on now.
18:07He caught on to the speed now and the timing.
18:13Good body shot there by Boots.
18:21Stonionis, the WBA welterweight champion.
18:27Fighting for the ring belt, the lineal championship.
18:31That's become the gold standard in this sport.
18:34I didn't think Enes was going to have this easy of a time out-jabbing Stonionis.
18:42Stonionis has one of the best jabs in boxing, in the business.
18:46He's winning this round, though.
18:48You think, Chris?
18:48This round, he's doing well.
18:51There's that uppercut.
18:53Stonionis blocking those punches, but they're so powerful.
18:55They're still seemingly doing some damage, backing him up.
18:58And there's a bloody nose now as he lands a right hand.
19:01Boots the left of his own.
19:02Boots coming on here as Stonionis covers up.
19:06He's turning into a bloody mess.
19:14Boots so relaxed in there.
19:16In the line of fire, man.
19:18I can't believe how relaxed this man is.
19:20It's incredible watching this.
19:22It's like he's fighting Stonionis in slow motion.
19:25He can see everything coming, man.
19:26He's like Neo in the Matrix in there.
19:29Dodging bullets, dodging punches.
19:31Looking sharp.
19:32Down.
19:33That was a attack of Nein.
19:49Go!
19:50Hey, boys.
19:52Yes, start shippin' into them.
19:56What are you going to do?
19:58Hey, give me them eyes up.
20:00Yeah, yeah, yeah.
20:02Okay, let him move.
20:04Let him move.
20:06Let him move.
20:08Okay.
20:10Yeah, we're landing a bunch again.
20:12Yeah, not enough.
20:14So you have to smother him?
20:16Oh, far.
20:18Nice right hand right there. Landed by Stan Ionis.
20:20Sometimes Ennis rolls with his punches, you know,
20:24taking the power away from the punch,
20:26but most of the time they're landing pretty cleanly,
20:28but I think he's still doing the better punching
20:30and you can see it by the blood in the nose of Stan Ionis
20:32and the fact that he's finding how to take a step back.
20:34Yeah, I thought that was a very good round
20:36for Armata Stan Ionis.
20:38Right up until the final 30, 40 seconds
20:40when Buchananis started to tee off
20:42and really opened up the blood coming from that nose.
20:44So, evening the round that Stan Ionis may have won,
20:46he took a lot of punishment.
20:48I agree, yep.
20:50Yeah, the two guys walking back to the ring,
20:52walking back to the corners, you know,
20:54the judges are looking at Stan Ionis is pouring blood
20:56out of his nose.
20:58Boots still looks as fresh as a daisy in there.
21:04I feel like Stan Ionis is doing everything he can, Sergio.
21:08I mean, he's giving it his all.
21:10Of his levels to championship boxing, man.
21:12I mean, it's just how incredible Boots is.
21:16I mean, it really is amazing watching this man up close,
21:20because he's not running, he's not boxing,
21:22he's staying in the pocket looking for punches.
21:24He's punching in between the shots, risking danger.
21:26There's your total punches landed in that last round.
21:30Feels a bit skewed, 19 of 68 from Ennis,
21:3410 of 31 for Stan Ionis.
21:36And Ennis, look, as soon as Boots gets near the ropes,
21:39he goes right back to the middle of the ring.
21:43That's another thing that Stan Ionis has been issues with.
21:46You know, he can't keep someone in the same space.
21:49He can't get him against the ropes.
21:51Big swing and a miss there from Stan Ionis.
21:56As Boots fighting out in a southpaw stance now
21:59when they're doing that front foot battle.
22:04You really put your opponent at a disadvantage
22:06if you can step on top of his foot as you're throwing a punch.
22:10It's harder for him to move out of the way.
22:13You know, Boots is the sharper fighter,
22:15in part because he is most definitely the moment
22:18more active of the two fighters.
22:20Even though the two fights last year weren't his best performance,
22:23he still got two fights in.
22:24And Mata Stan Ionis only got one,
22:26and then was off for the entire year before that.
22:28So he's had to battle stops and starts and training camps,
22:32ring rust that he had admitted affected him
22:34in the Maestri fight.
22:35And we talk all the time, Serge, activity does matter.
22:38And I think as this fight progresses, it's going to matter even more.
22:42You know, activity matters, especially for boxers,
22:44but, you know, whenever you have the style of Stan Ionis,
22:46you would think that it doesn't bother you as much.
22:48I think the footwork is bothering Stan Ionis.
22:52The fact that he can't compete with the foot speed of Ionis.
22:55And look, those body shots right there.
22:56That's Stan Ionis' kryptonite, I believe.
22:59Yeah, he's shrinking.
23:00And now Boots tee it up for the left uppercut,
23:03and down goes Stan Ionis.
23:05He softened him up to the body and came up with the uppercut.
23:08Boots knows exactly what he's doing.
23:10He's breaking down, Stan Ionis.
23:12Step this way.
23:13The face tells the tale.
23:15Blood everywhere, and the body's not doing much better.
23:19Can Boots seal the deal here in round six?
23:22Ten seconds to go.
23:34It's Don Ionis.
23:36Still in there slinging his guns.
23:40And he'll make it to the end of the round.
23:44Richardson Hitchens, Shakur Stevenson in the front row,
23:53appreciating what Boots is doing here tonight.
23:56It's the left round, he is the right hand.
23:59He is.
24:00I don't need this.
24:06We don't need this.
24:07We don't need this.
24:08We know you want to fight.
24:09Okay?
24:10I'll stop the fight.
24:11Yes!
24:12And they're going to wave it off.
24:13They have waved it off.
24:14Stan Ionis' corner has seen enough as Jerome Boots Ennis gets his crowning moment.
24:30The defining win of his career, and he's done it right here in Atlantic City.
24:36No mas for the Lithuanian, and man, that was a beatdown.
24:40A professional championship-style beatdown by Boots Ennis, man.
24:44That was surgical, accurate.
24:47Man, this is great.
24:49This is greatness we're watching.
24:50Greatness in the making.
24:53Let me tell you something.
24:55Boots looked fantastic tonight.
24:57Sergio, if he takes that skill and that style, upperweight class,
25:00I'm not sure he's not the best in that division, too.
25:03That's what I'm talking about, Todd.
25:04This is greatness we're watching, man.
25:05And look, with a guy like this, he needs a guy that brings it out of him.
25:10You know, Karin Chuqazian wasn't going to bring it out of Boots after 24 rounds.
25:14But a champion like San Ionis that was unblemished, unbeaten, so confident, everything going for him,
25:20that's what brings out the horse and the thoroughbred out of a fighter like Jerron Ennis.
25:26And what do you think about the corners stopping it right there?
25:29They knew they're outclassed.
25:30I think Simonio knows.
25:31Marvin Simonio in the corner of San Ionis.
25:34I mean, he comes from the wildcard gym.
25:36He comes from the school as a protege of Freddie Roach.
25:39He knows what beatdowns do.
25:40He knows what one fight can actually set back a fighter.
25:43It was only a matter of time, man.
25:45That was just surgical.
25:48Let's show you how the stoppage happened.
25:51The conversation with Stan Ionis.
25:53He didn't seem to put up much of an argument, did he?
25:56He knew he was a beat, man.
25:57And that's a man that's going to be a father any day now, man.
26:01And health comes first.
26:02He knows he got outclassed by a better man tonight.
26:06And there's no shame in that.
26:08Boots Ennis said, I want to be undisputed in the welterweight division.
26:13He's got two of the belts, only two more to go.
26:19And that's the moment that Geron Ennis picked up his 34th win.
26:24He's got 30 knockouts now.
26:26And there's not going to be a lot of criticism for Boots after this one.
26:30No, it's not.
26:31And like he said, I'm going to show y'all.
26:34Yeah, he showed everyone all right.
26:37He said he would prove that he's the best in the world.
26:40And if you're Brian Norman Jr., Mario Barrios, you're looking at this.
26:44I don't know if they're going to be clamoring to get in the ring anytime soon with him.
26:48I don't think they're going to want to get in with this monster, man.
26:51But look, Brian Norman Jr., I think he would compete as far as punching with Boots
26:56and as far as the power that it brings with him and the heart and the willingness to trade.
27:00But Mario Barrios, I think, will be a step down for a talent like Ennis.
27:06Another fantastic fight coming your way Friday, May 2nd from New York City.
27:13Ryan Garcia and Roley Romero in New York Times Square on DAZN pay-per-view.
27:19Also on the card, Devin Haney and Jose Ramirez and Teofimo Lopez and Arnold Barbosa Jr.
27:25That's available to buy soon.
27:38David Diamante makes it official.
27:47Ladies and gentlemen, referee David Fields calls a halt to this contest.
27:52The official time of the stoppage.
27:55Three minutes of round number six, declaring a winner by TKO.
28:02He's still undefeated.
28:03He's still the IBF and the new unified WBA and Ring Magazine welterweight champion of the world,
28:15Duran Boots.
28:18Eddie!
28:19Well, Sergio, if Boots is going to get those opportunities against the two other champions,
28:28they're going to have to put out a lot of money for Matchroom.
28:31Eddie Hearn's going to have to open up the pocketbook.
28:33How do you convince one of those guys who you think aren't even as good as Stalionis to step in the ring against this killer?
28:40Money talks, man.
28:42And look, if anyone has that treasure chest of money, it's Matchroom and Eddie Hearn.
28:45I think they want to become...
28:47Jared Anderson has a large...
28:50He has a long way to go.
28:52But he has a lot of belts to pick up in many divisions.
28:55This is a multi-division talent that we had here.
28:57So it's worth investing, man.
28:59I mean, this is a guy that's going to be special.
29:01One of the all-time greats, man.
29:02I could just see it.
29:04Well, let's hear what he has to say.
29:06He's standing by with Chris Mannix.
29:09Oh, Boots, congratulations.
29:12You got three pieces of hardware now around your waist.
29:15Now the unified champion.
29:17You said you wanted to make a statement tonight here in the ring.
29:20Show that you were still one of the best in the world.
29:22Was that the statement you were looking for?
29:24Yeah, I mean, I think I did, but I want to go back and watch it.
29:27You know, I feel like I was, you know, just getting in my groove,
29:30starting to get loose and having fun.
29:32And my dad told me, just keep pressing, you're going to stop me.
29:34And what's crazy was I had a dream that I was going to stop him just like this in the seventh round.
29:38But, you know, things happened.
29:40It came true.
29:41That was a terrific fighter you had in front of you.
29:43Undefeated guy, former Olympian.
29:44You might have won every single round, plus that 10-8 round.
29:47What was working for you in the ring tonight?
29:49The biggest part was just me having my fun, being myself, and having a live body in front of me.
29:54When I got a live body in front of me, I see what happened.
29:57I put on a show.
29:59I had my fun.
30:00I showed you speed, power, defense.
30:02I showed you a little bit of inside game.
30:03I showed you everything, you know.
30:04I feel like, like I said, when I got a live body in front of me, it's a whole different story.
30:07You're going to see a whole different boots, and I'm going to keep taking it to the next level.
30:10Body shots in this game are an investment.
30:12You were invested in that body very early in this fight.
30:15Could you feel yourself softening him up as the rounds went on?
30:18Yeah, I felt like I could go to the body as much as I wanted to.
30:22He was much shorter in the ring.
30:25The way he'd fight, he'd kneel down.
30:27So when I was trying to really go to his body, I was like, I got to switch it up.
30:30I got to give him something different.
30:32I did that, and I still found a way to get to that body still.
30:35It's that time.
30:37You were already a recognized world champion.
30:40Why was it so important to you to win a title in the ring?
30:43It was very important for me.
30:45Like I said, for this IBF belt right here, I was the interim champ, and I was elevated.
30:50I woke up one morning, and I was world champion.
30:52I never actually fought for this belt.
30:54I finally was able to fight for the WBA or fight for another title and take it from the man and beat him.
31:00It was a blessing, and that's everything I always wanted.
31:03It felt way better than sitting in the bed, waking up, and I was the IBF champ.
31:09Did it surprise you at all that he didn't come out for that last round?
31:12No, I mean, he's a great fighter.
31:15He's a good guy, but like I said, every round, I was just getting in my bed, getting in my groove, loosening up, having fun.
31:21And I feel like I was just picking it up, picking it up, picking it up, and yeah.
31:25You faced some criticism over the last few months, criticism that I know bothered you.
31:29How much of that did you bring into the ring tonight?
31:31I definitely brought some of that in here with me.
31:34You know, they still ain't seen nothing yet, though.
31:37You know, I got a long way to go.
31:38You know, I'm just getting started.
31:40The party's just getting started.
31:41Three belts now around your waist.
31:43Is it more belts, or is it move up?
31:46You know, I'm going to enjoy my victory.
31:49You know, enjoy these belts.
31:50You know, take some time with the fam.
31:52Talk to the team, and we're going to see what's next.
31:54Is becoming undisputed, though, part of your plan?
31:57We'll see.
31:58You know, like I said, we'll see.
31:59Let me enjoy this victory.
32:00You know, chill with my fam, and talk to my dad, my team.
32:04But yeah, make sure y'all come today at the party.
32:07Meet me at the spot.
32:08Congratulations, Boots.
32:10I appreciate everybody coming out.
32:12Philly, Jersey, Tri-State, New York, Delaware, Baltimore, D.C.,
32:18if I'm missing anybody, even everybody that traveled all over,
32:21even Lithuanian people.
32:22I want to thank Eddie, Matchroom.
32:24Appreciate y'all.
32:25You know, many more things to come.
32:27Many more buses to come.
32:28Shout out to my brother, too.
32:30No question about that.
32:31Congratulations.
32:32Well done.
32:33Eddie, we'll bring you in here.
32:34And, Eddie, you said to me before this fight
32:36you wanted to see this man make a statement.
32:38Was that what you wanted to see?
32:39What a wonderful, humble man.
32:41Not from me.
32:42Tear up the pound-for-pound list.
32:44This is one of the finest fighters in the sport.
32:46Tonight, that was a performance of one of the best fighters
32:50in the sport of boxing.
32:51Now the unified world champion, ring magazine champion,
32:54by far the best fighter in the division.
32:56He's going to be around for a long time.
32:5847, 54, 60.
33:00It's all coming.
33:01You're witnessing true greatness.
33:03Now he'll make his way onto the pound-for-pound list.
33:06We've got to fight the other champions.
33:07The future is so bright.
33:08He's the future of the sport of boxing.
33:10And what a great man from a great city in Philadelphia.
33:13You should all be so proud of him,
33:14because he carries your city around with him everywhere he goes.
33:17We'll be back in Philly soon.
33:19But tonight, I'm walking away.
33:20We've been saying for a while,
33:21we want a performance where we can stand on the ropes
33:24and scream and shout,
33:25this is the best fighter in the world.
33:26We got all of that tonight against a great champion.
33:29It was the best be the best,
33:30but it was a walk in the park for true greatness,
33:33a true pound-for-pound star in Duran Ennis.
33:35It's going to be around for a long time.
33:37I would say, Boots,
33:38you've learned not to make any predictions
33:39immediately after the fight from what happened the last time.
33:42But Eddie, you're going to be making some decisions,
33:44helping him make those decisions.
33:46What's your first call on Monday?
33:47Listen, the first call is Boots wanted to unify.
33:50He wanted to fight the champions.
33:52People criticized him about not moving up
33:54and not fighting for a belt.
33:56He said, all I want to do is fight the champions,
33:58win other belts.
33:59We stayed patient and it paid off tonight.
34:01Now we'll sit as a team.
34:03Bozy, Everett, got such a great team of people.
34:06And by the way, this is a guy that's tracing greatness.
34:09He's making money and the money will come,
34:10but that's not the important thing to Boots Ennis.
34:12It's about legacy,
34:13and it's about proving to everyone
34:14that he's the best fighter in the world.
34:16And he's a joy to work with
34:18because all he wants to do
34:19is give the fans the best fights.
34:21And he will do that consistently
34:22over the next five, six, seven years.
34:25This is a true, true champion.
34:27And what you saw tonight
34:28was just a snippet of what's to come.
34:30There's so many names I want to call out,
34:32but I'm not going to do it.
34:33Tonight belongs to Duran Ennis.
34:34What a star, what a fighter.
34:36Congratulations, Eddie.
34:37Congratulations, Boots.
34:38Phenomenal performance.
34:39Phenomenal indeed.
34:43And Sergio, as I mentioned a little earlier,
34:45I don't know who's going to be jumping up and down
34:47saying, I want Boots next.
34:48Nobody.
34:49And that's the reason, you know, they haven't been.
34:52For a long time, man.
34:53For a long time, Boots has been under the radar.
34:55You know, only the people that know this sport really well,
34:58people on this side of the East Coast in Philly,
35:00know what this man could do.
35:01All he needed was a promoter.
35:02All he needed was the stage and the slot on these events to shine, man.
35:08And that's exactly what he did.
35:10That's a dangerous guy, man.
35:11No one's going to want to call that guy out.
35:12Well, Eddie Hearnet is his promoter, and his job is to promote Boots.
35:16And as he said now, he should be on the top 10 pound for pound list.
35:20I agree.
35:21Well, who you booting off?
35:22Nakatani, Benavidez, Dravonta Davis?
35:24Listen, man, that's a unified champion right there.
35:26I'm knocking off Tank Davis.
35:28That's the first one I'm knocking off because Tank Davis has yet to, you know,
35:31do it on the championship level.
35:32He's not even picking off champions.
35:34This guy just picked off a legitimate one.
35:36Chris Mannix joining in his back ringside.
35:38I just asked Sergio, do you agree with Eddie Hearn that this man now
35:41should be on the top 10 pound for pound list?
35:43I think he's flirting with it.
35:44No question about that.
35:45Top 15, certainly inside that top 20.
35:49That was the performance that we had come to expect from Boots Ennis
35:53when he was beating guys like Sergey Lipinets and Roy Monvia.
35:57You know, a few bumps on the road last year,
35:59but now this win against a very good fighter.
36:02Make no mistake, Amata Stanionis is an excellent fighter,
36:05and Boots made it look easy in there in the ring.
36:07That is certainly going to elevate him on the pound for pound list,
36:10and I think there'll be some people that give him strong consideration.
36:13Well, let's show you again how he got it done.
36:16Stanionis gave it all he had, Sergio, but all he had wasn't good enough.
36:20He got it done. Boots got it done by softening up this guy to the body.
36:25You know, the thing about Stanionis is that high guards will get him in trouble
36:30because he exposes too much body.
36:32Look, see those stabbing shots to the midsection?
36:34That was slowly taking away the legs and the conditioning and opening up uppercuts
36:39and coming around the ground, busting up the nose of him off to Stanionis.
36:43And look, not forgetting the body on both sides, touching him up, coming upstairs.
36:47And this is when we knew Stanionis was looking for a way out,
36:50and Boots made Stanionis take a knee, man.
36:53He forced him to put the knee in Stanionis.
36:58And in the corner doing what I think everybody would agree was the right thing to say,
37:02hey, we don't have a path to victory.
37:05Let's get out while we're still relatively healthy.
37:08And Ennis gets his moment.
37:10He mentioned that he was, in some regards, felt like a paper champion.
37:14The title was handed to him.
37:15Tonight, he earned the unification, including the Ring Magazine belt.
37:20And Eddie Hearn said, I don't want to call out names.
37:22Boots didn't want to call out names.
37:23Chris, if you're the kingmaker, who's he fighting next?
37:27I'll call it a name.
37:28Brian Norman, 147-pound champion, just fought a couple of weeks ago.
37:32I thought Brian Norman would be here tonight.
37:34Apparently, he's on vacation, just coming off a fight.
37:38Fine.
37:39I still would have wanted to be here to be in a position to build up a potential Boots fight.
37:43But those are two...
37:44Didn't they offer him a lot of money already?
37:45He turned it down?
37:46They made him an offer.
37:47But look, if you're Brian Norman's team, you're probably going to get more money
37:49if that offer comes around again for this summer.
37:51That would be my preference.
37:52Boots Ennis against Brian Norman, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
37:56Two undefeated, top-level guys.
37:58I would love to see that fight next.
38:00Sign me up.
38:01That's exactly what needs to happen next.
38:02Look, all credit to Mario Barrios, but he's already been beat on the top level.
38:07I want another version of what we just saw.
38:10Two undefeated champions going at it to collect all the belts.
38:13Let me say this.
38:14If he fights Norman Jr., Boots will probably be an 8-1 favorite, 6-7-1 favorite.
38:19I want Virgil Ortiz Jr.
38:20Why not?
38:21Make the jump.
38:22Make the money.
38:23That is a big, big, mega-money fight.
38:25Yeah, but I don't think that...
38:27Look, I'm not poo-pooing that fight.
38:28I would still want to see it.
38:29I don't think that fight's going anywhere.
38:31I think Virgil is going to keep winning, still be on top,
38:34but I think that fight could happen at 154 down the road.
38:37Here are the power punches landed.
38:39Boots, 65 of 198 for a 33% clip.
38:44Stanionis landed 29 of them.
38:46Some good, good shots for the Lithuanian, but it just didn't slow the freight train down.
38:51That is Boots in us.
38:54One final look at tonight's fight card.
38:58We started out with two KO wins, both body shots, and then the unanimous decision dominating Raymond Ford over top.
39:07They did not do that.
39:08I think they will open four and down like five minutes.
39:09They are 삼quitos in the Minneapolis area of the Munich club.
39:10They are all in the place and that all is in the way we're in the right town where we're in the right town.
39:11They are all in the right town.
39:12Glory to the Minneapolis station, but it was in the right town.
39:13The new team is ready to call us in the right town.
39:15The local community is ready for a big part.
39:17The couple of teams are going to be in the right town.
