00:00Mike Budenholzer has maybe not a shock to any of us got let go today according to the champs
00:06it was probably broken on uh Michelle's show this morning uh but interesting times in Phoenix uh
00:14Michelle what are your thoughts on Bud getting fired and does this should there be more people
00:21being held accountable for what's going on in Phoenix I mean look I guess at the end of the
00:25day Matt Ishbia is the one writing the checks to everybody to not work uh which by the way I've
00:30done that before and it's awesome we should we all should be so lucky but you know I don't I don't
00:35really understand what the plan is right like okay you fire Budenholzer what is the plan who do you
00:40think you're bringing in what do you think is going to change we all know the sort of dire financial
00:45situation they find themselves in as far as money spent and not a lot in return so you know whoever
00:51gets this job next is there even staying power in being the head coach of the Phoenix Suns and who
00:56will even be there to coach so this is a disaster of epic proportions and I think the crazy thing is
01:03you're talking about going into next year your fourth coach in four years and if you think about
01:07it they were 2-0 NBA finals and literally the whole organization just fell off I mean the trade
01:15you know bringing in Bradley Beal getting Kevin Durant by the way look for him to ask out as soon as he can
01:20because he didn't deal with this uh but just it's just a troubled time in Phoenix and I do think
01:26Matt Ishbia and James Jones needs to take a little bit of credit and responsibility for what is
01:33happening there's only so many times you could shuffle the coach maybe you need to shuffle the GM
01:38can't get rid of the owner speaking of shuffling let's head to New Orleans uh where their GM uh was fired
01:45today uh not shocking if you think about it David Griffin let go after six seasons according to
01:51Shams uh there are these rumors is Joe Dumars who is a New Orleans native or outside New Orleans native
01:57uh who did a great job running the Pistons was in the Sacramento Kings organization as they started
02:02their rebuild being talked about as a successor what are your thoughts here on Griffin being let go
02:08in New Orleans you know I like Griffin um I think a lot of people do because he's done a lot with media
02:13and sort of everyone's gotten to know him a little bit over the years it's just another one of those
02:16weird situations where on paper you know you had Brandon Ingram at one point as well like you have
02:21the talent now the availability of Zion Williamson will forever and always be the big asterisk or the
02:27you know the elephant in the room is he there is he not we've seen a lot more of him lately which
02:32has been nice but that's hard as well on a GM because you're planning to put your pieces together and
02:37when you do these plans you think you're going to have the star there and in this particular case
02:42you didn't so it's a tough gig but I understand the need to sort of change things shuffle things
02:47around I don't know if they try to move Zion that's always being sort of bantered about we'll
02:52find out and an interesting thing is you decide to trade bi over Zion you knew one of them had to go
02:58maybe you didn't get the return you thought you thought you could have get for someone with the
03:03caliber of bi I mean is that I think that's also something to look at Michelle what do you think
03:07you know I think what happens in those cases as we know we've seen it year and year and year is
03:12once you know a player wants out you know once you realize that they're not going to give him what he
03:16wants financially he's no longer very interested in being there all the value sort of drops significantly
03:21it's just like negotiations 101 you can't show your hand the hands were shown so I don't and you know
03:27we've talked about it a lot as well I don't even know what you get for Zion Williamson it's the same
03:31conversation we'll have with a Joel Embiid every once in a while like yes we're not stupid we have
03:36eyes they are obviously made to play the game of basketball but their bodies don't always cooperate
03:41so what exactly do you get back in return and who's in the market for them so I'm I'll be curious to see
03:48if along with Griffin this involves a big change of strategy and if that means kind of looking at
03:53what they have and taking it apart a little bit and putting it back together with new pieces
03:57I have no idea but I think a market for Zion is a very interesting one to keep an eye on
