00:00In the meantime, out of five submersible drones recovered in different parts of Philippine waters,
00:05the Philippine Navy has released findings for three of them.
00:09This includes one found in Pasokin, Ilocos Norte in July 2022,
00:13and two others recovered last year in Kalayan Island and Initao, Misames, Oriental.
00:18Based on forensic analysis, the drones bear Chinese markings,
00:22and one was even found using a China telecom SIM card.
00:26There is a strong likelihood that the devices originated from and were deployed by the Chinese government.
00:32The Navy adds that the information possibly gathered by these drones could have implications on national security.
00:39The National Maritime Council and the National Security Council have also expressed concern over the findings.
00:46As of now, there has been no response from the Chinese embassy regarding the matter.
00:51In the meantime, the Navy Marine Expeditionary Ship Interdiction System, or NMESIS, missile system of the United States has arrived in the Philippines.
01:01The armed forces of the Philippines did not disclose the exact location,
01:05but confirmed that it will be part of this year's Balikatan exercises, which are set to begin next week.
01:12The missile system is expected to remain in the Philippines even after the conclusion of Balikatan.
01:18The AFP already anticipates another response from China.
