00:40Obviously, my thoughts are with the officers and their families, but we've got to learn lessons from this.
00:44In fact, this has got to be a turning point.
00:46And there's a broader issue here, which is about Islamist extremism within our prisons.
00:51There is mounting evidence, and I and others have been warning about this for some time, that Islamic organizations, there's one called the Brotherhood, which forcibly converts people within our prisons, are ruling the roost in our jails, that they are dictating to governors how the jails operate.
01:11They're dictating things such as the diet of prisoners.
01:14They are operating quasi-sharia courts within prisons, and they are controlling them with floggings and beatings.
01:23And this has got to end.
01:24You know, governors have got to assert themselves and take back control of these prison wards.
