In a press gaggle on Air Force One, President Trump was asked about a possible iPhone tariff.
Transcript
00:00Mr. President, are you going to announce tariffs on things like iPhones, tablets?
00:03Well, that's going to be announced very soon, and we'll be discussing it.
00:07But we'll also talk to companies.
00:09You know, you have to show a certain flexibility.
00:13Nobody should be so rigid.
00:15You have to have a certain flexibility.
00:18And we're doing really well, and financially, our country's going to be stronger than it's ever been.
00:23So some products might, there's flexibility for some products?
00:26For some products, yeah, maybe.
00:28Can you say what times?
00:29No, I'll be announcing it in the not-too-distant future, but it's going to be separately announced.
00:34Mr. President, do you have any reaction to—
00:36Very much like, if you look, automobiles.
00:39Again, automobiles, we have a tariff.
00:41Nobody's complaining about it.
00:43Went through the process.
00:44We have the tariff.
00:45Steel, aluminum, and some other things.
00:49So—and by the way, our country has taken in billions and billions of dollars on those tariffs.
00:56Billions of dollars.
00:57And maybe almost as importantly, or maybe more importantly, automobile companies, steel companies, steel companies and factories, and aluminum companies and factories are opening up in our country.
01:10But we're taking in billions of dollars on just those three categories.
01:15Have a look.
