00:00I'm Lillian Greenwood and I'm the Labour Minister for the Future of Roads and I'm
00:09here in Chesterfield in Derbyshire today to see for myself the appalling state of
00:14Derbyshire's roads, the mess that they've been left in after 14 years of
00:19Conservative government. But also to see in the good news is the extra almost 10
00:25million pounds that we're giving to Derbyshire County Council bringing their
00:29total capital funding from the Department for Transport for roads maintenance up
00:34to 37 and a half million pounds which should enable them to get on with fixing
00:40the potholes and actually doing a proper job to make sure that people here in
00:44Derbyshire have decent roads to travel on that are smoother and safer than what
00:49they've got at the moment.
