00:00What I want is a bit of a bad boy, but what I need is a gentleman.
00:06It's the ultimate heart versus head dilemma.
00:09Usually I go for fire and energy.
00:11What I need is someone who's more laid back.
00:14Choosing between what you usually want.
00:17People always say, this is my type, a vision of what you think is good for you.
00:21But nine times out of ten, they're not.
00:23And what you need to truly make you happy.
00:26I battle between the chaotic person and someone that is relaxing, the karma of storms.
00:32Six singles, desperate to find lasting love.
00:35That kind of like whirlwind romance, that's all I want in life.
00:39Have signed up to a radical romantic experiment.
00:43That forces them to confront this want versus need predicament head on.
00:49So this is where the journey starts then.
00:51Based on nothing but texts, they must get to know two hand-picked matches.
00:57I love that as well.
00:58I have a feeling you are the same.
01:01Before choosing one to meet.
01:03How's it going?
01:04Hi.
01:05And move in with.
01:06You can grab my back as well.
01:08Oh.
01:09I like this.
01:11I'm certainly enjoying her company.
01:13But will their first choice win the day?
01:15Fancy mugging of your first choice in favour of me.
01:18When their other match arrives.
01:21What the hell?
01:23To form a love triangle.
01:26Yes, we are moving in tonight.
01:28Sorry.
01:32In this high-stakes battle of romantic rivals.
01:35I'm going to be petulant.
01:36I'm going to make his life very difficult.
01:38You're in a f***ing triangle, mate.
01:39My head is scrambled.
01:41The quest for a happy ever after.
01:43I'm really falling for you.
01:44I ain't going to lie to you.
01:45Won't be easy.
01:49Yeah, I'll switch.
01:50Ego-driven.
01:53Getting no sexual chemistry.
01:55Like, not even like a little bit.
01:57But for some, the results could be life-changing.
02:00I've never felt this way about anyone in my whole life.
02:02Do you love me so much?
02:05I've made my decision.
02:07I've decided.
02:08You could be the one.
02:09In the heart of Manchester.
02:21I'm so nervous.
02:24Six brave singles are meeting to embark on an extraordinary journey together.
02:29I might be asking for too much, but best case scenario, I actually become a girlfriend.
02:37Hello.
02:38Are you okay?
02:39I'm Asa.
02:40Asa, nice name.
02:41I'm Yolanda.
02:42So you were the first one here?
02:44Yeah, apparently so.
02:45I'm always used to coming second.
02:46Oh, no.
02:47Not like that.
02:48Come on now.
02:49My humour goes down appallingly.
02:52It's like watching Davy Brent on The Office sometimes with me.
02:55Hi.
02:56Hi, I'm Chloe.
02:57Why are you single, if you don't mind me asking?
02:59I'm like a bull to a red flag.
03:01Oh, no.
03:03I'm always a choice to boys, whereas the roles are completely reversed in this experiment.
03:09I'm getting to pick, and I've got to be honest, it's quite nice for a change.
03:13Hi, guys.
03:14Hello.
03:14I'm Ryan.
03:16Oh, my God.
03:17Hi, Ryan.
03:18What, he's all thinking about this then?
03:19He's nervous or what?
03:21Do you know what?
03:21He's good nervous.
03:22Who are we going to end up with?
03:23I hope the fair, and I hope you've got a bit of money as well.
03:25Oh, my God.
03:26I'm not even going to lie.
03:27It can be a handful.
03:28I won't lie, but I'll admit it.
03:29I'll hold my hands up.
03:30I need somebody to be 100% accepting of who I am.
03:34I am a wild child.
03:35That is me.
03:36But I do think I need taming.
03:38Hello.
03:39Hi.
03:39Hi.
03:40How are you?
03:41How are you?
03:41Okay.
03:42How's me?
03:42How are you?
03:43I'm Danny.
03:43I should have worn a bloody tighter shirt now if I cried out loud.
03:47I've done the dating, and it's a bit disheartening.
03:50I'm looking for a wife, and I want, like, a family and stuff.
03:52I'm like a family man.
03:53We know family.
03:54If that makes sense.
03:56Hi.
03:56Hi.
03:58Which time?
03:58I'm looking at you, Shannon.
04:00I am nervous as anything.
04:02Yeah.
04:02But now we're in it, guys.
04:03Yeah.
04:04Yeah.
04:05Friends would describe my dating life as a horror movie.
04:09I'm attracted to a bad boy.
04:11If you're too nice, and the life's too born and too plain, I'm out.
04:16Right.
04:17Should we have a chase?
04:18Yes.
04:18For a rocky road, but hopefully we come out at the other end with a lifelong partner, because
04:24I am sick of dating up.
04:26Yes.
04:26Cheers, guys.
04:27Cheers.
04:27Cheers.
04:28Cheers.
04:29I love it.
04:30What are we all looking for, then?
04:32I am definitely looking to fall in love.
04:34I'm ready to pick my future husband.
04:36Oh.
04:37That's brilliant.
04:39Do you know what?
04:39It's nice for a change, because I feel like I'm always competing for attention.
04:42Yeah.
04:42So I think it's going to be weird that I'm in control, and they've got to fight for my
04:47attention more than anything.
04:48Like, penguins only have one mate.
04:51Oh, no.
04:51So, like, I just want my penguin.
04:53We're all here to fall in love, and that is, like, such a scary thing, to make sure you
05:03pick the right person, regardless of the fact that we're going to be dating both of them.
05:07I would just love to find someone that loves me for me, doesn't want to water me down.
05:12Yeah, yeah.
05:12I must say, I'm very nervous.
05:14I've been single four and a half years, so, obviously, it's a long time to be single.
05:19I'm 32.
05:19I mean, I need to settle down now.
05:23I'm so, so, so scared.
05:26Like, what about if we don't like them?
05:29Like, what about if they don't give much banter on text?
05:32You'll see soon.
05:33Yeah.
05:35Oh, here we go.
05:37One has got a message.
05:38No way.
05:39No, no, no.
05:40Are you joking?
05:41Your matches are now online.
05:43Oh, my God.
05:44Can anyone actually believe that we could be texting the love of our lives right now?
05:49Like, this person could be marriage material.
05:52Oh, my God.
05:53This could be it now.
05:55I could be finding the one.
05:56I'm chucking myself into a dating experiment in the hands of somebody else.
06:00I'm technically going to be going on a blind date.
06:03I don't have a clue what they look like.
06:05And I'm judging them off text.
06:06It's nerve-wracking.
06:07The singles have 72 hours to get to know their matches by text only.
06:20No pictures allowed.
06:21I think to start with a message, I'm going to be really simple, kind of introduce myself.
06:27I love that as well.
06:29Matched by experts, they will have to choose between somebody they normally want...
06:33He's got me laughing.
06:36So, yeah, that's a good sign.
06:39And somebody they need.
06:41If it does come across arrogant in person, I'm not going to gel well with that.
06:45That obviously says to me, more sensible vibes.
06:49Maybe that's the person that I need.
06:53I don't know what I'm going to do.
06:55Oh!
06:55Each picker must choose a match to meet first and move in with immediately.
07:04How do you feel about it?
07:06Well, I'll be honest with you, Alex, I'm absolutely shitty myself.
07:10I feel like he's on the same wavelength as me and very spicy.
07:14It's a good start.
07:15I'll say it's a good, really good start.
07:19I love drama.
07:22I know, you're probably thinking, should I want just a nice, quiet life?
07:25No, absolutely not.
07:26May as well get me a Zimmer now.
07:27The first single to meet her match is 29-year-old charity ambassador Shannon.
07:33I've had boring relationships.
07:34I've had toxic relationships.
07:36I've not had the perfect relationship, and that's what I'm looking for.
07:42I love a man being possessive of me.
07:44It's like such a turn on.
07:48I always pick a guy that's just not right for me.
07:51I've wanted a family.
07:52I've wanted the marriage.
07:54Like, I've wanted all these things.
07:55And I thought, when I met my ex-fiancee, that would be me.
08:01But in the pandemic, I actually was diagnosed with a really rare form of ovarian cancer.
08:08My whole world collapsed around me, and I thought I was a goner.
08:16And I remember the day so vividly, my oncologist phoned me, and she said, Shannon, you're pregnant.
08:27I was distraught, and I was overwhelmed with happiness that I'm pregnant.
08:33But what does the future hold for my unborn baby?
08:37I got told I needed chemotherapy urgently, so I actually had to start chemotherapy when I was 31 weeks pregnant.
08:48The chemo obviously took my hair as well.
08:50But hair was the least of my concerns.
08:52It was fighting for my life, my son's life.
08:54He was born at 32 weeks.
08:58He was, thankfully, healthy.
09:02My ex, he was there in person, but he wasn't there with his heart.
09:12And it was a really, really lonely journey.
09:19It's heartbreaking.
09:21That's why I'm here today, because I know I deserve better.
09:26Now I'm over a year in remission, and I've been given this second chance at life.
09:33Yes, I have many fears.
09:35I feel like it's going to be hard when I'm with someone,
09:38because it's awkward when I take my wig off for the first time in front of them.
09:40But now I've found my inner strength, and I'm rooting for myself.
09:46I deserve to find the right person.
09:49What I want is a bit of a bad boy.
09:51But what I need is a gentleman.
09:56Now I'm really nervous.
09:58Really, really nervous.
10:01OK, I've just got a message just come through.
10:04I can't, I can't even open it.
10:06I'm feeling all these nerves right now.
10:08OK, OK, OK.
10:10Right.
10:12Shannon's first match is confident alpha male, James.
10:16I feel like my history of being a bad boy might put someone off being in a relationship with me.
10:22That's very confident and very spicy.
10:27I think some women like a bit of a bad boy.
10:29They think there's more passion.
10:30It's kind of like the forbidden fruit.
10:31They shouldn't like it, but they do.
10:33I like the confidence.
10:37I'm intrigued about James.
10:41Shannon's alternative match is caring and sensitive Lewis.
10:45My family, probably describing personality as a little bit too over-caring.
10:50I know I'm a good person.
10:51I know I've got to offer.
10:54Well, that's cute.
10:56OK, so Lewis is giving a nice guy.
10:59I'm a cat.
11:00I've just been really unlucky in love.
11:03I'm quite a considerate person.
11:04That's what most people want.
11:08Lewis is giving innocence.
11:10Treat you right.
11:11He seems like the guy that will hold you here back if you're being sick in the toilet.
11:14Which is weird, because normally I would say, like, too sensitive as a guy is also a turn-off.
11:20Like, pass me the sick bucket.
11:21But he's not giving me ick vibes.
11:28I'm not going to lie.
11:30This is a super hard decision because I like them both.
11:33I knew this was going to happen.
11:35I feel like James is more of what I'd want.
11:39He's spicy.
11:40He's definitely a bad boy.
11:42Whereas Lewis is probably more of what I'd need.
11:46He's shown that he can be a gentleman.
11:49He's kind.
11:50I really don't know.
11:52Should I put what I want first?
11:55Or should I put what I need first?
11:59Damn.
12:00It's been really tough.
12:02But I have made my decision.
12:12Today, not only will Shannon meet her chosen match, but she'll also move in with them.
12:25Oh, my God, my stomach is so...
12:27Oh, I'm so anxious.
12:29I am really nervous.
12:31My heart is feeling the pressure.
12:32It's how I'm doing at my chest.
12:34It's okay.
12:34I can do this.
12:35I can do this.
12:37This could be the day I literally meet.
12:39It could be my future husband.
12:43Okay.
12:44I'm ready.
12:45I'm not ready.
12:46But I'm trying to be ready.
12:47I chose Spicy James.
13:01It was literally in the last, like, minute of deciding.
13:04I just felt the conversation flowed better.
13:07And he was definitely bringing the spicy chat.
13:10I hope he has dark hair, dark features, but I'm not picky.
13:15If he's lovely and he's good-looking and handsome, then, you know, he could still be the one.
13:28Hi.
13:28How's it going?
13:29It's Spicy Shannon, is it?
13:30Hi, Spicy.
13:31How's it going?
13:31Hi, James.
13:32I'm good.
13:33How are you?
13:33I'm really well, thank you.
13:34So, you're from Scotland?
13:35I'm from Scotland.
13:36Whereabouts are you from?
13:37I'm at Dundee.
13:39Yeah, where are you from?
13:39I'm from Bournemouth.
13:40Can you believe we're actually here now, meeting in person?
13:46Oh, it's unbelievable, really.
13:48And then you turn around and I saw your face.
13:51And, yeah, I was blown away.
13:54You were blown away?
13:55Blown away, yeah.
13:56Oh, my God, don't.
13:56You're going to get me all emotional.
13:57That's all right.
13:57You're OK?
13:58Yeah, I'm looking at you.
13:59You're OK?
14:01Really attracted to him.
14:02He's very good-looking.
14:04He's got a lovely smile.
14:05His teeth are gleaming.
14:08I think I've seen his teeth before I've seen his face.
14:10I like to present myself as this, like, masculine, alpha male type guy with the muscles, but there's more to me.
14:16There's definitely more to me.
14:16You'll have to peel back those layers.
14:18I might let you do that, yeah.
14:20I was wowed, yeah.
14:22I think the matchmakers have done a solid job there.
14:24I clearly think she's attractive.
14:26I think we're going to be in for an exciting ride.
14:30Oh, you're funny.
14:31Yeah, you too.
14:32So, come here.
14:37What?
14:38Should we kiss?
14:42Should we hug?
14:44He did go in for a kiss, but I was like, no.
14:47Then I was like, a hug.
14:48Should we hug?
14:49Should we hug?
14:49Oh, you don't want to kiss?
14:51I really want to take the time to fully immerse myself into this, really get to know one person, just not rush.
14:59I thought I'd shoot my shot.
15:00Um, should you rebuff me?
15:04Maybe it's a little bit too early on reflection, but there's plenty of time to make that right.
15:10That was lovely.
15:11I know I'm rubbing your arm.
15:13It's like a patronised rub.
15:14Well done, James.
15:15You did try, but it's all right.
15:17I am the life and soul of the party.
15:32I am probably the loudest one in the room.
15:34I know I give off this big bravado, but that is actually me.
15:37The second single looking for love is 32-year-old tanning business owner, Ryan.
15:45I work to go out on the weekends and go and get pissed with my mate.
15:48I'm a loose cannon.
15:49I've got no filter, and sometimes that's a bit overpowering for people.
15:55It can scare people off.
15:59People do know who I am, and I do online videos and stuff like that on social media as well.
16:05I have, like, a small following on there.
16:08This symbolises my dating history and what the hell is going on at the moment.
16:12People do prejudge me from stuff like that.
16:16You do tend to get judged a lot off what you were like when you were younger,
16:22and I think that will tend to put people off.
16:27You're a very, very, very good person, Ryan,
16:29and I do think it's about time that you met somebody that actually looked after you,
16:33but you have to let them.
16:34You struggle with letting people in and letting your walls down,
16:37but you need to let somebody look after you.
16:39Another reason why I am scared of letting people in
16:41is because I have had shit in the past in relationships.
16:46I was in a relationship and madly in love.
16:50Unfortunately, cheating was involved, not on my part.
16:52I was massively heartbroken.
16:55I think my past relationship has left me with a lot of trust issues.
17:00I think I've built this barrier because of rejection in the past.
17:03Relationships not going right, family, I have a massive wall up.
17:07It's probably a fear of rejection.
17:12I'm scared to put my heart on the line and then for it to get crushed
17:18or to be in a relationship and somebody cheats on me
17:20or for somebody to just turn their back on me.
17:23Like, it does stem from past experiences, one million percent.
17:27I think now is the right time for me to let people in
17:36and break them walls down because I know what I want in a relationship
17:40and hopefully somebody will make me feel at ease
17:44and I will trust them to be able to do that.
17:46I want somebody to laugh me into bed.
17:50I want somebody to be very cheeky.
17:52I want somebody to be flirty like me.
17:54What I think I need is someone that's a bit more mature,
17:57a bit more settled down.
17:59I am a big party animal,
18:00so I do probably need somebody that's a bit more chilled than me.
18:04Hopefully, I'll end up finding the one.
18:07Right, so this is where the journey starts, then.
18:16What am I actually going to say to that?
18:18I don't want to be too deep.
18:19I don't want to come across as too keen.
18:21There's so many thoughts going through my head.
18:25Ryan's first match is party-loving hairdresser Alex.
18:30I could bring a bit of divitude to a relationship.
18:34You know, I think people quite like a bit of sass here and now.
18:35Well, that's good. Right, OK.
18:40I came up with the moon dancing.
18:42I'd like to have a good time.
18:44It would be nice to have someone there with me.
18:47I love a vodka and coke,
18:49so maybe we can go for a cheeky vodka and coke together.
18:56Ryan's second match is mature and secure.
18:59David.
19:01I think for a while, I've thought, like, I'm built to be with someone.
19:03I think I'm a caring and nurturing person.
19:06He's got a bit about him.
19:08He's very confident.
19:10I'm now the best version of myself to be with someone
19:13and to uplift not only my life, but their life too.
19:20Pottery.
19:23Things...
19:24Pottery.
19:25David's old.
19:26I like that he's chatting and he's making an effort.
19:30This might just be his personality.
19:32Like, everyone's not like me and I need to realise that.
19:34I like that he's making an effort to speak,
19:36so that is a green flag to me.
19:43Yeah, my head is exploding at the moment.
19:45It's totally gone.
19:46If I was to say what I want and what I need,
19:56Alex is probably what I would want more.
19:58He sounds a bit more lively.
20:01But I probably do actually need a David to calm me down.
20:05I'm still in two minds,
20:07but I am swaying to one person more.
20:09I say that, but...
20:16Yeah, no, I'm ready.
20:18I do know.
20:18I'm 100%.
20:19I need to just throw it out there.
20:20I am hoping that I don't have to go through
20:33this dating stage ever again,
20:34and this is the one.
20:37What about if there's no physical attraction there?
20:39I want to look at him and think,
20:40you are fit.
20:41I want to rip your clothes off.
20:43It is so hard to judge somebody on a text.
20:59But I have chose...
21:02..Party Animal, Alex.
21:06He was the only one that was giving me a bit of banter.
21:08He was being playful, he was having a laugh,
21:10he was having a joke.
21:11David, he just seemed a little bit too old,
21:14and it was the pottery, it just wasn't for me.
21:16It put me off.
21:18He's more of a mature guy, very serious,
21:20something that I'm not.
21:26If I don't feel the instant connection,
21:29and there's no physical attraction,
21:30there's no spark there,
21:31I think my face will say it all.
21:33Hello, hello.
21:42Hello.
21:44Oh, my God.
21:46Shit.
21:47How are you?
21:48I'm not too bad.
21:49Nice to meet you.
21:50Nice to meet you. I'm dying.
21:52Um...
21:52If I had to describe that feeling of when I saw him...
21:58My heart sank, and I'm starting to think,
22:03have I made the right decision?
22:06So what do you do?
22:07I'm a hairdresser.
22:08You're a hairdresser?
22:09Yeah, yeah.
22:09Good.
22:09Yeah.
22:10How long have you been single for?
22:12I've been single for like nine years.
22:13It's been a long time.
22:14Nine years?
22:15I don't usually go for hairdressers.
22:17I'd rather have a builder than a hairdresser.
22:19Are you nervous to move in like with me and stuff?
22:21No, like I'm ready.
22:23I can see why we've been matched.
22:24He was giving me eye contact, which I like.
22:26I know this whole process is different,
22:29but I'm ready just to get shit popping and see what happens.
22:32I mean...
22:33He is someone I find attractive, yeah.
22:36He is fanciful, if that's a bird.
22:38I'm looking forward to getting to know him.
22:40You're cold.
22:41Do you want my coat?
22:42I would love that, yeah.
22:43Do you actually want...
22:44Do you want my coat?
22:45I'll give you it.
22:46I'm a gen.
22:48I need to stop being so judgmental.
22:49Like, at the end of the day, we're matched for a reason.
22:52So come on then, let's move in.
22:53Hopefully, there is something there, and it can progress.
22:58Get in.
22:59Cheers.
22:59Cheers.
23:08This is amazing, this place.
23:11It's massive.
23:12It's really...
23:13It's just all for us.
23:15Glad to be sharing it with you.
23:16Me too.
23:17Oh, wow.
23:22Oh, my God.
23:22This is too classy for me.
23:24I was not expecting that.
23:25There's a ball.
23:25Look at the beer.
23:26Look at all that.
23:27Look at the balls.
23:27Look at the balls.
23:33Be gentle.
23:36Oh!
23:36I've thought about when's the right time to tell James about my cancer journey.
23:46There was something I wanted to tell you.
23:50What's that?
23:51I do have fears.
23:52I have fear of rejection for the cancer.
23:54Because I wear wigs, and I guess I have worried, and I've cried endless amount of tears, thinking
24:02about, what if a guy...
24:04What if a guy doesn't want to be with me because of what I've been through?
24:11It's quite hard for me to open up, but I feel like it's something you deserve to know.
24:16Sure.
24:16Yeah, so this is a wig.
24:24Don't know if you could probably tell.
24:26No, I actually couldn't tell at all.
24:28It's fantastic.
24:28It's fantastic.
24:31So, I actually had stage four ovarian cancer.
24:38So I had to get, like, a lot of chemo and stem cell transplants and surgeries.
24:42But, luckily, I am nearly a year and a half in remission.
24:47No cancer, cancer-free.
24:48Oh, that's amazing.
24:49So I just wanted to give you an insight into that because it's been a huge part of my life.
24:57And I also, I do have a wee boy.
25:00He's nearly two.
25:02OK.
25:02And he's healthy.
25:04Yeah, I'm here and healthy too.
25:06Shannon's telling me that she has a son just makes me like her even more.
25:08It shows me that she's a brave woman that has gone through some really, really difficult periods in her life.
25:16And that is testament to her resilience.
25:18Thank you for, like, taking the time to listen.
25:22You know, it's just, I appreciate you.
25:24Good.
25:34I kept it sweet.
25:36You did.
25:36But at least I didn't get her a buff like earlier, right?
25:39I accepted it the second time.
25:52I'm going to go and sort the food out.
25:54Can I get a pick and a chic?
25:56Come on, then.
25:57Thanks, darling.
25:59Appreciate it.
26:00I was hoping for, like, an instant attraction.
26:03And he's such a nice guy and I feel bad.
26:05But I also need to think of myself.
26:07And I'm just not feeling it.
26:09I'm trying my hardest to hope that connection and that spark comes.
26:13But at this moment in time, it's really not.
26:16What do you want to do anything tonight?
26:17What do you fancy doing?
26:19Play naked twister.
26:21Can you bring a thong then, at least?
26:23If you've got a thong, I'll put it on.
26:27Have you actually got a thong?
26:28I'll put it on first and I'll show you.
26:30Are you actually going to go and put it on?
26:32In a minute.
26:34I actually don't even know why I asked him to get in the thong.
26:37I don't even know where that comes from.
26:38They don't want to rip the thong off.
26:51How's it looking?
26:51What is it?
26:52It's a bikini.
26:55And I've never seen someone so lost for words in my fucking life, honestly.
26:59And I think that he was surprised, but I think he low-key liked it.
27:01He deserves a cheater.
27:03Cheater, what?
27:05Thongs, chicken and mash.
27:07I like the balls.
27:20Hey, what?
27:21Shorts, the gants.
27:23Is this part of the interview?
27:25The third single looking for love is bodybuilding barber, Danny.
27:30People say tall, dark and handsome.
27:32I'm like, I've realised I think I'm short, dark and handsome, right?
27:35I hate to admit it.
27:37In trainers, I am actually five foot eight, right?
27:40So, yeah, I've had to just take my height down off dating apps.
27:44My friends say that I'm single because I look for the red flags.
27:49It might be the defence mechanism, who knows?
27:51But I'm genuinely doing this experience to find somebody.
27:55I'm the only single person out of my friends.
27:58So, how's dating life, mate?
28:00Non-existent.
28:01Worth it, eh?
28:01The thing is, I critique myself a lot.
28:08I've always been insecure, even from being a young lad.
28:11Then I went to the gym.
28:13And then I thought, I need to get a bit bigger.
28:15I need to get bigger.
28:16I ended up taking anabolic steroids.
28:20Back then, there was no internet and there was no knowledge about steroids.
28:24And I didn't know what I was doing.
28:26And every side effect, another son.
28:27I was told I couldn't have children, all due to steroids.
28:36Back then, I didn't want anyone knowing I was ashamed and embarrassed.
28:40I ended up taking control of the situation.
28:42I went out, found a fertility clinic, paid for my sperm to be frozen.
28:47And I paid monthly for, yeah, rent for my kids.
28:51There's 11 little Dannys there waiting.
28:54There is a time limit on the sperm.
28:56It's 10 years and we've got eight years left.
28:59So, time's ticking.
29:03I want someone to match my energy.
29:04Really fun and crazy.
29:06And I can have a real good time with.
29:09But then I'll need a girl that I can build with.
29:12I need somebody that matches my morals and values.
29:14I want somebody that wants children.
29:17I'm looking for the one.
29:19So, yes, to my future wife.
29:20Yes, she is.
29:23Oh, I'm nervous.
29:27Oh, God.
29:30Nope, Sadie's texting.
29:32Here, let's see what she's got for me.
29:37Dannys' first match is fun-loving social media manager, Sadie.
29:44Dating me is, like, the best time of your life.
29:47Just having fun every day.
29:49You'll probably be a little bit trained because I'm quite high energy.
29:53But it'll be fun.
29:55That's pretty cool.
29:56It's pretty cool.
29:57My dating life so far has been very, like, fun and intense.
30:02But now I'm ready to actually try and have something healthy and longer lasting, which is, like, very new to me.
30:10She writes poetry.
30:14What about you?
30:16Oh, gosh.
30:17I feel like she's very intelligent.
30:19I've not done poetry since school.
30:21But I probably could appreciate, I guess, if she told me a good poem.
30:24Danny's second match is family-orientated business consultant, Lois.
30:32I do have love to give to someone.
30:35The only thing I will say is that my daughter is my number one.
30:40So it's going to have to be someone that's happy to share my heart.
30:44That is something different and could be wifey.
30:50I am open to being with someone that wanted children.
30:54I always thought I'd have more.
30:55I'm quite traditional.
30:57My thing is, at the beginning, I think the man should sweep me off your feet.
31:01And then it becomes, like, a mutual effort.
31:05You sweep me off my feet, I'll cook and clean.
31:07I'm happy with that.
31:08We brought them pubs, the country pubs, with a fire.
31:16I love that as well.
31:17I have a feeling you are the same.
31:19How do you feel? She's psychic as well.
31:21Bro, it keeps changing.
31:29So this is going to be a huge decision,
31:31because not only I'm going to meet maybe my potential future wife,
31:35I've got to live with this girl as well.
31:38I really want to make the right decision.
31:41I've got Sadie on one hand, who seems fun,
31:46but I'm thinking she might be too fun
31:50and then not somebody I can settle down with.
31:53We might not have much in common.
31:55But then on the other hand, I've got Lois,
31:58who I think is going to be really good for me.
32:00I think she's, like, probably a deep person.
32:04A good woman.
32:05Like, these are the vibes I'm getting from her text messages.
32:08So, I'm torn.
32:15Honestly, I'm so nervous.
32:17Like, I know I've got to make the right decision,
32:19but I feel like, yeah, I feel like I've made it.
32:22And I'm just nervous.
32:24I just hope it's the right one.
32:25On a scale of one to ten, I'm probably at 12, nervousness.
32:42I'm going to meet somebody that I've never even seen a picture of,
32:45not knowing, one, if she'll fancy me.
32:53And then, two, if I fancy her.
32:54My mind's been changing from Lois to Sadie,
33:02for Lois to Sadie.
33:06I chose...
33:07..family-orientated Lois.
33:11I felt that I might have it a little bit more in common
33:14because some of Sadie's things that she likes to do
33:17didn't match mine.
33:30Hey!
33:31Hi! Oh, my God, I'm going to trip.
33:33Good to meet you.
33:34Nice to meet you.
33:34I need to put my seat somewhere.
33:36Take a seat.
33:37Yeah, I think we'll put it here.
33:39I'll get it for you.
33:40Thanks.
33:44How are you feeling?
33:45Oh, nervous. You're nervous.
33:47I'm all right, I do.
33:47I'm not too bad.
33:48It'll be fine. It's going to be fun.
33:52I don't fancy Lois because she's not my usual type.
33:56How do you feel about, like, living with me?
33:59I'll be honest.
34:01I like things my way.
34:02I'm quite independent.
34:06I quite like my own space.
34:09When was the last time you lived with somebody?
34:11Long, long time.
34:12Oh, was it?
34:13I like my own space, though.
34:14Even, like, I've got a Morrison's or something.
34:16I'll see one of my friends in Morrison's and I'll, like...
34:18You don't show Morrison's, yeah?
34:19Can you drink to someone off where they show?
34:20Of course you can.
34:22Wow.
34:24She's very, like, dominant.
34:26Like, I'm a bit...
34:27..a bit scared of her.
34:29I don't know.
34:30Yeah.
34:32Shall we move in?
34:34Yeah.
34:34Let's move in together.
34:35Let's go.
34:35Let's go.
34:36I don't know how he feels at all.
34:39I'll get your kiss.
34:40Are you sure?
34:41Yeah.
34:42There's no flutters yet.
34:43But it could be a slow burn.
34:45Oh, there's sheep shit all over my case.
34:48It's a crazy situation.
34:50There's no spark.
34:52I'm scared of hurting her feelings.
34:55Oh, shit, sorry.
34:56Literally all over it.
34:58Oh, OK, this is nice.
35:02Oh, my God, look at this kitchen.
35:03Oh, ho, ho, ho, ho, ho.
35:04Oh, my God, this is so nice.
35:08Like something from a magazine.
35:11To be fair, this is a beautiful bedroom.
35:12It is lovely.
35:14So, I'll be really honest, bedroom-wise, I'm going to need my own bedroom.
35:21Same.
35:22Is that OK with you?
35:23Same, yeah.
35:23OK, amazing.
35:25I am very happy with tonight's sleeping arrangements.
35:27I am totally not bothered.
35:29I wouldn't share a bed with a stranger.
35:30I'm happy with my space.
35:31She's happy with her space.
35:32I'm perfect.
35:33You brought us a couple of coffees.
35:52And I know you like your straws.
35:54Oh, you're too good to meet you.
35:57Shannon and I, last night, we kept arranging to go to sleep,
36:01but we ended up talking and giggling and kissing each other and spooning.
36:08Did you dream about me?
36:09Well, what's the point in dreaming about you when I got you next to me in bed?
36:12That's a good point.
36:13You know, the sexual chemistry's there.
36:14We can't keep our hands off each other.
36:16We're only day two.
36:17Yeah, I feel like I've got to know you a lot, both physically and emotionally.
36:22And I'm excited to, you know, continue doing that.
36:25I definitely can see why we've been matched.
36:27He ticks all my boxes, like, but I'm saying just now,
36:31because who knows what lies ahead, what it's all about staying in the now.
36:34And just now, he ticks every single one of my boxes, definitely.
36:38LAUGHTER
36:39So, are you a good cook?
36:47When I meet somebody, I'll then start cooking.
36:50Does that make sense?
36:51When you meet Bill Nguyen?
36:52Yeah.
36:53Oh, right.
36:54Yeah. Oh, you know what? Yeah.
36:55So, like, after this, do you meet?
37:02Yeah, well, I'm cooking. I'm cooking with you now.
37:05Yeah, I mean, you said when you meet someone.
37:08When I meet somebody.
37:09Yeah.
37:10Yeah.
37:10Do you just met me?
37:14Yeah, I know.
37:15And I'm cooking.
37:17Oh, fuck.
37:18I'm feeling so scared of telling her I don't find her attractive
37:23and ruin, like, the dynamic in the house.
37:29Are you not a good person with, like, criticism?
37:32Probably not.
37:33No.
37:34Probably not.
37:34He was just very defensive
37:37when I was just trying to have, like, an open conversation.
37:40I don't think anyone should be dishonest
37:44just to make someone else feel better
37:45because, in the long run, they're only going to feel like shit.
37:49Yeah.
37:51I feel scared, but I don't know what I was scared of.
37:55But I feel like I want to put my cards on the table.
37:58I think that's the best way moving forward.
37:59How are you, like, feeling about this experience?
38:09So...
38:10I just got this...
38:14It was just a really strange vibe.
38:16Are you hiding something?
38:17Are you not saying something?
38:27Um...
38:27This is terribly sad, horrible.
38:44This is terribly sad, horrible.
38:46I feel like I'm getting no sexual chemistry.
38:58Like, not even, like, a little bit.
39:03Yeah, but I feel...
39:04I feel exactly the same.
39:05Oh, I feel a bit relieved now.
39:07I'm never going to be able to have a cup of tea,
39:08and we like coffee.
39:10Yeah.
39:11So...
39:11I do feel a bit relieved now, but...
39:13Good!
39:14Now I've told Lois, like, my true feelings.
39:18I feel really relieved, and she felt it as well.
39:22I don't know what I was expecting.
39:23I think I was so scared of hurting her feelings,
39:25I've realised that she can handle it.
39:27But then now, I feel like it's going to just shut off
39:29this experience, because it's like...
39:31No, I don't think it will, because you're like...
39:34You never know, do you?
39:35Like, sometimes when you actually say something out loud,
39:38you never know what you might think, actually.
39:41Now that both of us are, like, chilled out,
39:43you just don't know, do you?
39:44Right.
39:44So it's not a bad thing.
39:46There was part of me that felt bad,
39:48because I could see that he was really uncomfortable,
39:51but then I don't feel bad,
39:52because all I felt like,
39:53I just wanted to have an honest conversation.
39:55I don't feel there's anything wrong
39:56with asking someone to just be honest and be open.
40:06I describe my looks in three words
40:08as chiselled, flamey, and just hot.
40:13The fourth single hoping to find the one
40:16is care recruiter Asa.
40:19I do get very positive reviews of the physique
40:22when it comes to taking my top off
40:24in front of the opposite sex.
40:26I do get the wide eyes,
40:27the often gasp as well,
40:29and it's the, you've got a fucking great body.
40:31When I hear that, it feels absolutely great,
40:34because I love myself,
40:35and I feel like I need to find someone who loves me
40:37as much as I love myself.
40:39I feel like I'm single,
40:41because I'm a lot to deal with.
40:43The thing is, I know I'm a catch,
40:45but there's a catch.
40:48When I was diagnosed with autism, I was 11,
40:50and I was almost in denial about it at first.
40:52I didn't quite like the diagnosis.
40:56I was kind of polar opposite to what I'm like now.
40:59I was less outgoing, I would say,
41:01very introverted, I was very disagreeable.
41:05My autism has affected my previous relationships
41:07and even dating experiences,
41:10mainly because when I love someone,
41:12I'm fully tunnel vision focused on that person,
41:14and that can be exhausting for people,
41:16especially when it comes to the dating world.
41:17But I've become a lot more self-reflective
41:19coming away from certain situations like that.
41:22For someone I'm dating,
41:24for them to have an understanding of neurodiversity,
41:26it's not a deal-breaker at all,
41:28as long as they start to understand
41:29some of the things that I do,
41:30and they gauge why I am what I am.
41:32I often have the battle between the want and the need.
41:36Often I find myself wanting the spontaneous,
41:40hyperactive, really unpredictable, chaotic person.
41:44What I really need is someone that is calm,
41:47relaxing, the calmer of storms, you know,
41:49someone that is almost the person
41:51that's going to bring you peace,
41:52not the person that's going to make you pick up the pieces.
41:54Oh, I've got something here now.
42:02From, er, Marie.
42:05ACES' first match is energetic account director Marie.
42:11I always carry good energy.
42:13I call myself a bit of a Duracell bunny.
42:16Oh, I like that.
42:17I'm always the life and soul of the party,
42:20and I like to have a good time,
42:21so if that gets me in trouble, then...
42:23Whoops.
42:24I feel like I need to really juice this up a little bit more.
42:30So I'm going to go with,
42:32are you sponsored by NASA because you're a rocket?
42:36Two kisses this time.
42:37We've graduated.
42:38We have brought Houston.
42:40We have liftoff.
42:43ACES' second choice is nurturing midwife Chelsea.
42:49I suppose I'm very, very kind-hearted,
42:51and it's something, even as a child,
42:52that always shone through in me.
42:53And anyone that knows me knew I would always go down the road
42:56of midwifery because I'm so caring.
43:01Chelsea seems a lot more compassionate and grown-up as well,
43:04someone I would say I definitely need.
43:07I do think in a relationship,
43:08I would always focus on making each other grow,
43:11and I think, you know,
43:12you start a relationship like a tiny little seed,
43:14and by the time it grows,
43:15you're a bloomin' flower.
43:20Now, for me, that is really reassuring going into this process.
43:24That is what I'm here for.
43:25I'm here to find Mrs. Wright.
43:27I'm looking for a long-term relationship now.
43:29I'm looking to settle down
43:30and, in a way, you just grow up.
43:39So I've been texting Marie and Chelsea here,
43:42and I am in a little bit of a pickle at the moment.
43:45Do I go for Chelsea safe and sensible
43:48or do I go for Marie exciting and active?
43:55It is something that I've been sort of playing through in my mind
43:58over the course of the last few days
43:59whilst texting these two ladies,
44:01and it's really, really tough for me to sort of make a decision.
44:05Now, I've just got to own it and go with it.
44:14I'm feeling an unbeknownst amount of pressure.
44:18What's she going to think of me?
44:23What am I going to think of her?
44:26I guess it's just a matter of just diving in the deep end
44:29and just really swimming with the waves.
44:38I chose nurturing Chelsea.
44:45I strongly believe I've made the right decision.
44:47Through the conversations we're having,
44:49it seems to bounce off quite well.
44:50We sort of had quite good energy.
44:53I'm just hoping the personality matches
44:55the tone of the text messages that we have.
44:57Hi.
45:04Hello.
45:04Hello.
45:05Hello.
45:05Hey, how are you?
45:07You all right?
45:07How are you?
45:08How are you?
45:08I'm good.
45:09You too.
45:10I'm nervous and I'm very Asa.
45:14Gorgeous here.
45:15It's absolutely fantastic.
45:17Gorgeous.
45:17How are you feeling?
45:20Yeah, a little bit nervous.
45:21Yeah?
45:22Okay.
45:22I'm more relaxed now that I've met you.
45:24Excellent.
45:24Yeah, same here.
45:25Oh, my God.
45:26It was the build-up more than anything.
45:27I know.
45:28I'm glad to be here.
45:29And thank you, obviously, for having me.
45:30No, thank you for coming.
45:32Yeah.
45:32How did you find getting to know me over text?
45:34Yeah, you're really good.
45:35I'm really bad over text.
45:36I'm terrible at text as well, though.
45:39It's quite scary, isn't it?
45:40Yeah, it's beautiful, though.
45:41Yeah.
45:42Almost as good looking as yourself.
45:48She's gorgeous.
45:49Absolutely stunning.
45:50Beautiful eyes, gorgeous accent.
45:52She's a bit of a corker, I must admit.
45:54I'm just really intrigued to get to know her.
45:56Are you a fan of puns?
45:58No.
45:58Oh, right, come on.
46:02Initially, when I walked off the bridge and I seen Asa,
46:06I suppose it wasn't what I was expecting.
46:08I think I did have a different image in my head.
46:10But then, as I got chatting to him, we got on really well.
46:16I'm so excited.
46:18Well, look, should we get off this bridge and get somewhere a little bit safer?
46:21Yeah, let's go.
46:21Let's go.
46:23Can you take my case for me?
46:24No, I'm joking.
46:24Of course.
46:34Oh!
46:36I don't know.
46:36This will do.
46:37This is a bit of me.
46:4110m7.
46:41What's the bed feel like?
46:42Oh!
46:44Fantastic.
46:45Cushioning.
46:47Double shower, double whammy.
46:48Double shower!
46:49Sharing his caring.
46:50I'll wash the bed.
46:52I'll wash your back, you wash mine.
46:54So, I'm presuming this is the master bedroom.
46:57Mm.
46:57But the big question is, who gets it?
47:02Ooh.
47:02What's the plan?
47:05Well, look, I want to dive into experience head first.
47:09I'm more than willing to obviously share.
47:11Okay.
47:12But if you want your own space to settle in first, then I'm more than happy for you to have the master.
47:18I think we'll start with that plan.
47:19You're excited for painting.
47:28Yeah.
47:28Failed the GCSEs as well for art.
47:32Today, we are off to have a date.
47:35Oh, that's lovely.
47:38I did say that I was going to come into this experiment very open-minded, put myself in the deep end.
47:43And if the connection wasn't there from the start, go with it.
47:46There's a reason why we've been matched together.
47:47Got the perfect skin tone for me there.
47:49Right, all right.
47:50I'm the same with me.
47:51We're similar that way.
47:54Hopefully, we have a fun time.
47:58But, uh, I don't know how I'm feeling.
48:03I ended up kissing him last night.
48:05I had a few drinks, and we were just chilling, and then it was me that instigated it as well.
48:12I was just trying to see if there could be anything more.
48:17Last night was fun.
48:19Did I kiss you?
48:20Yeah.
48:21Oh, God.
48:22You came on to me.
48:24I saw you at the corner of my eye looking at me.
48:27Looking at my ass, looking at my body.
48:30I can't.
48:31I can't.
48:31I think he might actually be reading the situation a little bit, a little bit wrong.
48:39I mean, it's only a kiss.
48:40It's not anything major.
48:42Was I go kiss her?
48:43I just felt lips.
48:45Like, me and you had just got big legs.
48:47Two pair of lips together.
48:51You're going to actually have to just give me a minute to actually focus, because...
48:54That's fine.
49:00Last night was a bit spicy.
49:02It just felt so natural, and it was fun.
49:04My feelings towards Ryan are growing more than just friends.
49:16We are in this experiment to try and find a connection with somebody, whether that's on a friendship level or whether it's anything more.
49:23I think we've just got to not think into it too much.
49:26Yeah, we haven't.
49:27Just go with the flow and just see what happened.
49:28Ready to see you?
49:34Can I get a drum roll, please?
49:36Go on.
49:37Ta-da!
49:40That's actually really good.
49:45Oh, my God.
49:48I haven't fully written it off yet, but I feel like he likes me a bit more than I like him.
49:52What the fuck?
49:54And I don't want him to get too attached in the meantime.
49:56How did you sleep last night?
50:08Great.
50:09It was nice.
50:09It was lovely.
50:10Obviously, we were just watching a movie, and then I feel like it just happened.
50:14Last night, we did sleep in the same room.
50:17We had a little cuddle.
50:18And a good night kiss, which I didn't expect so soon.
50:21I'm quite surprised at myself.
50:22But I feel like we turned a bit of a corner.
50:24Well, it was a great way to start off this experience with a little bit of a shirtless
50:33partner as well.
50:40Cheers.
50:41It's a new beginning.
50:42Fruitful beginnings.
50:42How did you find last night, the first night in?
50:48Yeah, it was lovely, actually.
50:50I think when you're in somewhere like this as well, it makes it so much easier.
50:52And we got to know each other quite nicely.
50:54Yeah.
50:54I think we had a lovely night, actually.
50:56I think it was lovely.
50:58Why do you think you're single?
51:00How long you got?
51:01No?
51:01My autism has affected my sort of previous relationships, and it was a hell of a challenge.
51:08So I think it's quite important for me to open up about the autism to Chelsea, to give
51:12more of an understanding, obviously, of not necessarily what she's getting into, but just
51:16sort of in terms of to get to know me a little bit better.
51:18The first start is obviously understanding, obviously, that I am on the spectrum.
51:21She's got a little bit probably to learn and understand and adjust to.
51:25Well, I mean, I've had, like, a bit of trouble in the past, obviously, connecting with someone
51:28as well, because I've got autism.
51:30Oh, really?
51:32Yeah.
51:33I would never have known.
51:34Yeah, and that's the thing.
51:35So it's such a broad spectrum.
51:37Obviously, I'm reasonably high-functioning, so it's quite easy for me to sort of mask.
51:41In terms of relationships, that can be quite scary for the other person as well.
51:45I think the fact that he was so open and honest, it was beautiful, and I think it says
51:50a lot about him.
51:51It's important for people to see that, you know, get rid of the stigma and get rid of
51:56that stereotypical way of what autism presents as, so fair play to you.
52:02Autism is a massive part of my character.
52:04Chelsea's reaction showed a compassionate side, and that's really attractive to me, and
52:08it allowed me to open up just that touch a bit more.
52:11And again, I'm quite excited for her to get to know the real me, and vice versa as well.
52:16It's quite early days, but I'm 100% unequivocally think Chelsea.
52:20It's the perfect partner for me.
52:22So, how was your breakfast?
52:23Did it hit the mark?
52:24It was absolutely beautiful.
52:25Oh my goodness, thank you so much.
52:27Ten out of ten.
52:28Nine out of ten.
52:29Always room for improvement.
52:30Yes.
52:32I would definitely say there's a little spark there.
52:34I'm actually a little bit more relaxed and a little bit more excited to see where things
52:38are going.
52:38A little cheeriest to the next few days.
52:40Raised the sides.
52:40The final two singles meet their chosen match.
52:49I'm hoping I've made the right decision.
52:51How's it going?
52:52Today could be the day that I meet the one.
52:55Hello.
52:56Jesus Christ.
52:57And as everyone gathers for the first time.
53:01This girl's a gem.
53:02I'm really forwarding for you.
53:02An unexpected twist sends shockwaves through the group.
53:06Fancy mugging of your first choice in favor of me.
53:10I don't like that.
53:11I mean, that's disrespectful.
53:12Fucking dick.
53:14This is unbelievable, this.
53:16I don't like that.
53:46This is unbelievable.
