00:00Thank you for listening.
00:30Good evening and welcome to Sports Scene.
00:42Masters weekend, which means we required a couple of pundits who've been through plenty of clubs in their time.
00:48Callum Davidson and Richard Foster certainly fit the bill.
00:52We start with a potentially pivotal day at Pataudry.
00:54The defeat for Rangers at Aberdeen would see Celtic officially crowned Premiership champions.
01:00I look at it as it's an opportunity for guys who have been chanting my door and asking why they haven't been playing.
01:09So they've got an opportunity today against a very good Aberdeen team.
01:12I'm pretty confident, as I said, the guys can go and put a good performance on and get a positive result.
01:17I know they have good players, they are an experienced team, but also we are good and special at home.
01:24And we need to go with all that and keep up the intensity of the game.
01:27It's going to be a really intense game today.
01:29And it's going to be a great atmosphere and a great good football game.
01:32No love lost in this always keenly anticipated fixture.
01:40And today is no different with Aberdeen recapturing some of their early season form.
01:46And Rangers rampant on the road in recent times.
01:52Jimmy Tallinn sticks with the same starting 11 from last weekend's win over Ross County.
01:57As Aberdeen look for back-to-back league wins over Rangers at Petaudry for the first time since February 2006.
02:06It's a very different story for Rangers, for whom Liam Kelly and Robin Proper are the only survivals from the team that started against Athletic Bilbao.
02:15That means a first league start for Rafael Fernandes.
02:18A first start of any kind for Finlay Curtis.
02:21And the captain's armband for the former Don, Connor Barrett.
02:24Stephen McLean is this afternoon's match referee.
02:30It's often a fairly frantic and fiery affair.
02:38Morris stepped away from Curtis.
02:41Good footwork from the winger.
02:43Cross is met by Ancialla.
02:47Rangers will try to counter here.
02:49Touch from Iguaman was a little careless, but by Ramy's got it to Cortez.
02:54Danilo in the middle.
02:55Here's Danilo, heavy touch.
02:58Takes it through to Ross Doohan.
03:01And a bit of rustiness perhaps in the play of Danilo there.
03:04Might have been that Cortez was offside in any event, but Danilo should have buried it.
03:11And given the officials a decision to make.
03:12Here's Kess going to finish winger.
03:25Approaching the Rangers box.
03:27That's a lovely turn from Shaden Morris.
03:29And it should have been the opening goal.
03:31And it came to him a little fortuitously, but his first touch was wonderful, Shaden Morris.
03:39But he drags the shot.
03:41And Gay couldn't slide in at the back post.
03:44Karkson again.
03:50Thinks it down the line for Shinny, who gets the better at Avernier.
03:54An opportunity there for Knousta.
03:56Who will feel he should be doing better.
03:59Amberdine just beginning to ratchet up the pressure.
04:02Great work from Shinny.
04:03Terrific ball, Knousta.
04:05Well, I don't know who will feel he should have been working.
04:07Liam Kelly there.
04:08Now Dorrington taken out by McCausland, but the advantage played.
04:21Looks to be a wise decision, and that will be a free kick.
04:26McCausland's going to get a talking to for that challenge, which was allowed to go.
04:31And then Baron and Tavernier combining to Floor-Keskinen.
04:35Yellow card shown to Ross McCausland.
04:38It's not his first foul.
04:40Playing in that unfamiliar wing-back role.
04:50Clarkson, going for a goal!
04:52What a finish from Leighton Clarkson.
04:56Catching Liam Kelly out, and he's near post.
04:59And breaking the deadlock in spectacular style.
05:02Liam Kelly, the hero against Athletic Bilbao, will be frustrated at being beaten at the near post.
05:11But take nothing away.
05:13Almost the postage stamp from Leighton Clarkson.
05:17Too much power, too much accuracy.
05:20And Clarkson goes Aberdeen the lead.
05:22Just after the half hour at Pataudry.
05:25Seventh goal of the season for the midfielder.
05:28It's won by Shinny.
05:35That'll come to Guy, who leaves it to Nisbet, who tries to release Morris.
05:39Across comes in Siala.
05:41It's Shireen Morris.
05:43Tracks it wide again.
05:45Aberdeen, though, always looking threatening when they're coming forward.
05:49Well won by Guy.
05:59Cascadeiro, this could be real trouble for McCausland.
06:02He's going to go.
06:04A second yellow and a red.
06:07Well, he really has to know, being on a yellow card already, that that is such a rash tackle to make.
06:13And Rangers, a goal down and now a man down before half-time.
06:20As Ross McCausland makes his way down the tunnel.
06:24For the second game in a row, Rangers reduced to ten in the opening half.
06:30Aberdeen deserving, you would have to say, of their advantage at this stage.
06:42Keskenen makes further headway up towards the edge of the Rangers penalty area.
06:47Into the Rangers penalty area.
06:49But it just wouldn't curl enough.
06:52He's having a fine game.
06:53And almost capped it off with a goal there.
06:56Not too far away.
06:57Important challenge there by Curtis.
07:07Morris.
07:08Looking to escape the attentions of Curtis.
07:12Picks out Guy.
07:14It's number two.
07:15And it's Papa Guy.
07:17With the dancing feet.
07:19Who turns it past Liam Kelly.
07:22It's been a fabulous first half performance from the home side.
07:26And Shearie Morris just getting the ball out of his feet.
07:30And then he has the composure to pick out Papa Guy.
07:34Who picks his spot.
07:37Leaving Kelly helpless.
07:39And giving Aberdeen a two-goal cushion.
07:42It's his first league goal since September against Motherwell.
07:48And he took it brilliantly.
07:49It's a massive uphill battle for Rangers now.
07:54But Aberdeen.
07:57Set to return to third place in the league.
08:05Here's Curtis.
08:07Looking to do to Morris what he's just done to him.
08:11Pulls it back.
08:12Good save.
08:13On the rebound.
08:14Igiband smashes it home.
08:20Now Curtis.
08:22Has he kept that in?
08:23Is that what the flag's for?
08:25But certainly not for an offside.
08:27VAR having a look at it.
08:29Andrew Dallas.
08:32Is the man who will try and make the decision here.
08:35Much like the Celtic goal that was chopped off at Easter Road.
08:39It's very difficult to tell.
08:41Without a camera on the line.
08:45But the goal will not stand.
08:54Curtis does well to win the flick on.
08:55Igiband could be in here.
08:57Checks back inside.
08:58One way then the other.
09:00That's a wonderful finish from Hamza Igiband.
09:03Thorin scored.
09:04Just before the break.
09:07He's certainly scored now.
09:10Curtis does ever so well to win the flick on.
09:13Above Knuster.
09:15Igiband almost looked like the chance had gone there.
09:18But he fires it.
09:20Beyond Doohan.
09:21Right into the bottom corner.
09:23And the Moroccan.
09:24Has dragged Rangers back into the contest.
09:27Shinny gets beyond Cartes.
09:34Dangerous ball.
09:36Well defended by Zhefti.
09:38Shinny doing really well.
09:39It's a dangerous ball.
09:40Yeah, you can see the two clashing heads as Zhefti got it clear.
09:44That's a bit looking for an eighth goal in ten games.
09:47Pala Versa finds Jenssen.
09:53Oh, he's done brilliantly.
09:54Kesken in.
09:55So close to Aberdeen third.
09:57A wonderful piece of skill from the Fin to put this round him on.
10:02And if only he could have rounded it off with a goal.
10:09Kesken in out to Jenssen.
10:12Picks out Nesbitt.
10:15Wide of target.
10:17Could have backed him to at least trouble Liam Kelly there.
10:22The form he's been in.
10:26Everyone behind the ball for Rangers.
10:32Dorrington looking to drive Aberdeen.
10:34He's done really well.
10:35He's away from Diamandé.
10:36And he picks out Nesbitt.
10:39Well, he couldn't ask for a better set-up from Dorrington.
10:44Who put it on a plate for the striker.
10:47Brilliant work here from the centre-back.
10:49And it ripples the side netting.
10:53And now Clarkson.
10:58And he just can't get it properly clear.
11:00Jenssen again for Ockels.
11:04Turns inside proper.
11:06The reflection of Incialla.
11:08Could have gone anywhere.
11:10And ends up behind for a corner.
11:12Could play this from Ockels.
11:14Incialla with an important block in the end.
11:16Ockels through the legs of Tavernier.
11:23Back goes Hadji.
11:24And brings him to the ground.
11:27A booking for the Romanian.
11:29And a free kick to Aberdeen.
11:30A despairing lunge there from Hadji.
11:40Clarkson to deliver the set-piece.
11:42A good ball.
11:43Can Aberdeen turn it home?
11:44Yes, they can.
11:46It's Kevin Nisbet to seal the victory.
11:50Ramming it into the roof of the net.
11:53Aberdeen's two-goal advantage is restored.
11:57And Kevin Nisbet has his eighth goal in just ten games.
12:01Passed up a couple earlier in the half.
12:03But Rangers could not get their lines clear.
12:07And the Aberdeen fans.
12:09And the Celtic fans will be celebrating tonight.
12:16The VAR check ongoing.
12:21Oh, it's a handball.
12:23It's chopped off.
12:25Kevin Nisbet must have been the one who handled it.
12:29There.
12:29Well, it seems harsh, but by the letter of the law,
12:34even an accidental handball by the goalscorer
12:38means the goal cannot stand.
12:49Barron just tries to get it as far forward as possible.
12:53Hadji in for Dessers.
12:54Dessers for the equaliser of the post!
12:59Egeman.
13:01And Hadji goes for a goal!
13:02He finds it!
13:04Stunning!
13:06Silencing Pataudri!
13:08What drama!
13:10In the final seconds of Pataudri,
13:12Rangers, with ten men, have snatched a point.
13:17And delayed Celtic's title celebrations.
13:21Undented Aberdeen's hopes of finishing third.
13:24But the chance looked to have gone as Dessers struck the upright.
13:28Head in hands for Dessers.
13:30But Hadji had other ideas
13:32as he sweeps it beyond Duhan
13:34and levels things up for Rangers
13:37in the most dramatic fashion possible.
13:41They enjoyed that.
13:42Can Aberdeen muster one final attack here?
13:49There's no time to do so.
13:52And Aberdeen,
13:54from two goals up with a man advantage,
13:57are pegged back.
14:00And Rangers
14:00prevent Celtic from clinching the title
14:04from the comfort of their own homes.
14:07And Pataudri finishes.
14:09Aberdeen 2,
14:10Rangers 2.
14:12It can happen sometimes
14:13when you have to,
14:14like this one extra,
14:15and get more time on the ball
14:18because the players are low
14:19and just waiting for that transition moment.
14:22And instead of keep pushing for 3-1,
14:25you think you can protect the ball
14:27in different areas.
14:28And they still,
14:30even when they score 2-1,
14:31you know,
14:32they can always get one more chance
14:34inside a game.
14:34So you have to go for the third one.
14:36And in the future,
14:38we have to do better
14:39when you play with one player more
14:41so much time.
14:42After going down to 10 men
14:43and 2-0 down,
14:45you've got to be pretty happy
14:48with coming back into the game
14:50and getting a point.
14:52I want to win games of football,
14:54but we're making it hard for ourselves
14:55with continually going down to 10 men.
14:58And maybe that's on me
15:00in terms of how I want
15:01is to kind of approach it
15:03and be aggressive.
15:05I thought the second half,
15:06I had to make a few changes,
15:07obviously at halftime.
15:10And then I was a lot happier
15:11with the second half.
15:12If you're a good team
15:13and you have so much to play for
15:14in the league
15:15and the centre final,
15:17good teams look forward
15:18to the amount of back works.
15:19We have to move on
15:20and keep the belief in the season
15:23and focus on the right things.
15:26Celtic made the way
15:27to officially be crowned champions.
15:29Richard Foster,
15:30Rangers reduced to 10 men.
15:32Again,
15:33do they edge it
15:34in terms of positives
15:35from today at Pataudry?
15:37I think so.
15:37I think the level of performance
15:39they got in the second half.
15:40I still thought Aberdeen
15:41had the chances to win the game,
15:43but Rangers just kept themselves
15:44in the game.
15:45They've got a real belief
15:46that when they go behind in games,
15:48which they've done quite often,
15:50they've got a belief
15:51that even down to 10 men
15:52they can get themselves
15:53back into the game.
15:54And they've done that.
15:55So I think, yeah,
15:56I think a draw
15:58is not a great result for Rangers,
16:00but given how the game went,
16:01I think it was a fantastic point in the end.
16:03Callum, always a fantastic fixture.
16:05Really entertaining game to watch.
16:07From an Aberdeen point of view,
16:08they put so much into this match.
16:10Where did it go wrong?
16:12It's a difficult one
16:12because the first half
16:13I thought they were excellent.
16:15I thought, obviously,
16:16the Rangers made a lot of changes.
16:17They took advantage of it.
16:19Again, playing against 10 men
16:20is always difficult.
16:21They conceded the goal
16:22just after half-time.
16:24So it's 2-1.
16:25And that becomes a bit edgy.
16:26And that's probably
16:27the biggest one for me.
16:28It becomes a little bit edgy.
16:29Rangers have the quality.
16:31And Aberdeen probably
16:31didn't take their chances.
16:33They'll be ruining it tonight
16:33because it was a great opportunity.
16:35It's hard to beat the old firm.
16:36It was a great opportunity
16:37for them to win today.
16:39It was an unbelievable
16:40free kick from Leighton Clarkson.
16:42A thing of beauty.
16:43And we'll see it in all its glory.
16:45I suppose you have to ask
16:46the question, though,
16:47should Liam Kelly have saved it?
16:49Looking at it,
16:49when I first watched it,
16:50I actually thought
16:51it's a wonderful free kick.
16:53But actually,
16:53Liam moves across the goal
16:54really well.
16:55He actually gets a really
16:56strong hand to it.
16:57And you see from here,
16:59it's a wonderful free kick.
16:59He actually gets a strong hand.
17:01But you can't take away
17:03from Clarkson's tentacle ability
17:06to stick it in there
17:07from that angle as well.
17:08You see it's a big hand.
17:09So he's probably going to be
17:10a wee bit disappointed.
17:11But you can't underestimate
17:12his quality.
17:13And incredible, Richard.
17:14Nine years ago,
17:15James Madison did this.
17:17It begs the question,
17:18which one is better?
17:20See, for me,
17:20I'd still say Madison.
17:22I think because, you know,
17:23I think Callum's right.
17:24Liam will be disappointed
17:25he gets a strong hand tip.
17:27You can't save Madison's.
17:28You cannot save that free kick.
17:29It's so close to the corner,
17:31in off the inside of the post,
17:32right in the top corner.
17:33And that's why that just
17:34edges it for me.
17:35But it's scary,
17:37the comparisons between the two
17:38in terms of the position
17:39on the pitch
17:39and kind of what they meant
17:41for each club at the time.
17:42It was incredible, actually,
17:43how similar they were.
17:44Who are you going to go for?
17:46Obviously, I probably agree
17:47with Richard this time.
17:49Not often I do,
17:50but I think it's, you know,
17:51it's great to see
17:52that type of quality.
17:53That's what you look for.
17:54That's what you like to watch
17:54in games.
17:55And, you know,
17:55it was a great free kick
17:56by Lent today.
17:57Absolutely brilliant.
17:58Really bad moment
17:59for Ross McCausland, obviously.
18:02Can you have any complaints, Richard?
18:04I would say no,
18:06based on his second challenge,
18:08Ori and a booking.
18:08For this one,
18:09I'm not sure that's a yellow card.
18:11He doesn't touch him
18:11with the foot
18:12and Aberdeen play runs into him.
18:13Yeah, he's impeded him.
18:14It's a foul.
18:15The referee plays on.
18:16This is the yellow card.
18:18Barron's tackle there
18:19on Kiskanen's the yellow card.
18:20I think it's really unfortunate
18:22to get a booking for that.
18:24Having said that,
18:25when you're on a booking,
18:27I mean, look.
18:28Does he not catch him
18:28on the top of the foot?
18:29No, I don't touch him there.
18:30But even if he does.
18:32He actually doesn't need to go out.
18:33He actually makes a wrong decision,
18:34doesn't he?
18:34Even if he does touch him,
18:35I don't think it's a booking.
18:36That is.
18:37I think Steve McLean,
18:38what he said to him,
18:39he's actually said that
18:39it's numerous challenges.
18:41But for me here,
18:43he basically gets caught wrong side
18:44and there's no excuse for me.
18:47That's basically for me experience.
18:48That's knowledge.
18:49The folly of youth
18:50in this moment.
18:50Yeah, I think so.
18:51And also,
18:52Rangers playing
18:52is kind of a different formation for him.
18:54Yeah, for him,
18:54but he's got to obviously
18:55see the run first.
18:56And when he's in that position,
18:57he's just got to stay on his feet.
18:58There's no real danger.
19:00So, you know,
19:00they've got no excuses.
19:01You know,
19:02it's another red card for Rangers
19:03and it's always hard
19:04when you go down to 10 men.
19:06So, really,
19:07he's probably going to be
19:08disappointed with himself tonight
19:09for making that challenge.
19:10Of course, yeah.
19:12You're impressed,
19:12Cam,
19:13by just the threat,
19:14especially from wide areas
19:15with Aberdeen.
19:15Jimmy Tillin,
19:16he's stuck with his methodology
19:19at Aberdeen.
19:20They're always getting up the pitch
19:21in the wide areas.
19:22Yeah, I thought
19:22they were a real threat today.
19:24I thought Rangers really struggled
19:25when Nisbet in the pocket
19:26and his link playing
19:27that allowed the wide players
19:29then to get involved
19:29in the action.
19:30You know,
19:30it's a fantastic turn there
19:32knowing that you should do better.
19:34But I think you see
19:34from these clips,
19:35it's always those positive runs,
19:37those energy.
19:38I think, you know,
19:40Aberdeen were really good
19:41and they are disappointed.
19:42For me,
19:43that's a glorious chance.
19:44Unfortunately,
19:45the big lad,
19:45he's up front there.
19:46I think he's obviously
19:47wishing he wasn't.
19:48But again,
19:49little things wide areas.
19:50Rangers had two young lads
19:51playing against their two wingers.
19:52and probably struggled
19:53first half.
19:54You know,
19:54and this is actually
19:55the second goal.
19:55You see Nisbet free.
19:57I just felt,
19:57Karl,
19:57I'm sorry to cut you off,
19:58that any time Aberdeen
20:00got in this position,
20:01which was a lot,
20:01if you look at the Rangers
20:02defending,
20:02they just sink towards the goal
20:04and they leave that space
20:05in between the defence
20:06and the midfield
20:06and they obviously
20:07lose a goal from it.
20:08Aberdeen create other chances
20:10from that very same thing.
20:11They drop too early.
20:12Yeah, I think so.
20:13I think they have to drop,
20:14though.
20:14I think it's for me,
20:15the midfielders have to deal with it.
20:16They have to then drop
20:17into that position
20:17and mark what I always call
20:19the second six-yard box.
20:20And Aberdeen had numerous chances.
20:22Nisbet, again,
20:23kept dropping into space,
20:24kept causing problems,
20:26especially in the first half.
20:27You know,
20:27in here,
20:28this is, again,
20:28good play.
20:29Poor defender from Rangers,
20:30but this was the chance.
20:32And these are the huge chances
20:33that Aberdeen
20:33will rule.
20:35Yeah, definitely.
20:36This is the one you,
20:36Nisbet,
20:37technically,
20:37you expect him to score from there.
20:39You know,
20:39I think he knows himself.
20:40That's a glorious chance.
20:41That puts the game to bed.
20:42I think that would make it
20:433-0 at the time.
20:443-1, sorry.
20:45And then it makes it harder
20:46for Aberdeen
20:47to get back into the game.
20:48I know Scottish football
20:48is not swimming with
20:49Cash Richard Foster,
20:51but at the Qatar World Cup,
20:53they had that microchip
20:54in the footballs.
20:55Tell if the ball
20:56goes out of play.
20:57Maybe we need to invest
20:58in that.
20:58In Scottish football,
20:59this isn't the first time
21:00we've seen this,
21:00this season.
21:01It's not.
21:02Or maybe we just need
21:03to accept that sometimes
21:04these things happen
21:06and we don't really know
21:07definitively whether
21:08that ball's out or not.
21:09Yeah.
21:09But I like the fact
21:10that they just,
21:11you know,
21:11they go with the
21:12on-field decision.
21:12Now, you know,
21:13is the linesman
21:14in a great position
21:15to see it?
21:15I don't know.
21:16Can you tell definitively
21:17that it's out?
21:18Not for me.
21:19Did VAR learn its lesson?
21:20Because obviously last time...
21:21I think it probably did.
21:22Now, I don't think
21:23you can tell that
21:24if it's in or out.
21:25But the linesman
21:26has flagged it out,
21:27so then it's out.
21:28The arc of the ball
21:29is always the thing,
21:29but it's really difficult
21:30to measure that.
21:31You can't.
21:31There's no way
21:32that we can tell there
21:33from the naked eye
21:34whether that ball's completely out.
21:36Absolutely no way.
21:37This one,
21:38this one's a little bit different.
21:39We can actually tell
21:40that the ball does hit Nisbet's arm.
21:43It's unfortunate
21:44he doesn't know anything about it.
21:45Not a great angle there,
21:46but we'll see one later on.
21:48It hits his arm.
21:49He then scores the goal.
21:50The goal needs to be chopped off.
21:52If you see it here,
21:53we zoom in.
21:53It definitely hits his arm.
21:55It's unfortunate
21:55because he doesn't mean it.
21:57It's a great finish,
21:58but unfortunately for him
21:59it hits his arm first.
21:59Yeah, I think they get
22:00both decisions right.
22:01You know,
22:01I'm not often going to say that,
22:02but they actually get
22:03both decisions right.
22:04They're both correct.
22:05You know,
22:05it's one of those,
22:06obviously the referees
22:07have done their job there
22:08and got both decisions correct.
22:10And I guess it makes it
22:10even more crushing
22:11for Aberdeen fans
22:12given that at that point
22:13they thought they were
22:143-1 up.
22:15Rangers comebacks,
22:16we have to talk about that.
22:17Rangers have won 13 points
22:19from losing positions
22:20in the Premiership this season.
22:21No team has recovered more
22:23and I suppose that's
22:23kind of a double-edged sword
22:25in terms of maybe
22:26a compliment or not
22:27because they'd probably
22:28rather not having to be
22:29playing catch-up,
22:30obviously, Callum.
22:31Yeah, definitely.
22:31I think it shows their spirit
22:32they've got there.
22:33You know,
22:33I think you've seen it
22:34quite often with them.
22:35For me,
22:36Aberdeen were really
22:37disappointed here.
22:38I think he jumps out,
22:40Donaghan jumps out of position.
22:41You know,
22:42and it's three defenders.
22:43It's still 1v3 there.
22:44Yeah, I know.
22:44I think there...
22:45Igermani does brilliantly well.
22:47Canooster has to then
22:48win the first contact.
22:49When he doesn't,
22:49you've just got to see
22:50if Igermani doesn't
22:51get hold of the ball.
22:52As you say, Richard,
22:53three defenders there.
22:54I think they can do more
22:55to stop the goal.
22:56Igermani,
22:57you can actually see
22:57it's a brilliant finish.
22:58He's really good at it,
22:59isn't he?
22:59This is the one, though.
23:00This is, you know,
23:01midfielder messages
23:02the ball here.
23:04Canooster jumps out
23:05for whatever reason.
23:05I've got no idea.
23:06He's never getting
23:07anywhere near the ball
23:08and it allows Desters
23:09to run through.
23:10And you know what?
23:11He actually catches
23:11this really well
23:12from a decent strike.
23:14Unfortunate.
23:15But this is a goal,
23:16you know,
23:16this is a goal worthy
23:17of getting a point
23:18in any game.
23:19fantastic timing.
23:20To step onto that ball
23:22and hit the ball
23:23the way he does
23:23is a very,
23:24very difficult technique.
23:25You can see actually
23:26it's Hadji,
23:26he plays the ball
23:28over the top
23:28for Desters there.
23:29He carries on,
23:30he doesn't stop,
23:30he keeps moving.
23:31Technically,
23:32this is such a hard goal.
23:33It's a wonderful strike.
23:35You know,
23:35I think Rangers
23:35made some good
23:36substitutions.
23:37They obviously made
23:37a lot of changes
23:38to his team,
23:39but then what happens
23:40is that gave him
23:41a real impact.
23:42Yeah.
23:42You're coming off the bench
23:43and to me that was
23:43a wonderful...
23:44Connor Barron loved it as well.
23:45Yes.
23:47Captaining Rangers today,
23:49the former Aberdeen player
23:50and all the paper talk
23:51is that Yanis Hadji
23:52might be off in the summer
23:53showing what he can do
23:55and you like him as a player.
23:56Not just the technical stuff,
23:57Callum,
23:57you feel he puts
23:58in the hard graft too.
23:59Yeah, I think so.
24:00He's been through
24:00a wee tough time
24:01at Rangers lately
24:01and I think
24:02you know his attitude
24:03every time I've watched him.
24:05You know,
24:05I've watched him a lot
24:05this season
24:06and I think his attitude
24:07is terrific.
24:08He's obviously a wide player
24:08with a lot of technical qualities
24:10but he's working
24:11really hard for the team
24:12and I think Rangers
24:13he's a cracking player
24:15and you definitely
24:16want him to stay.
24:17Rangers with a huge match
24:19coming up on Thursday night,
24:20the second leg
24:21of their game
24:21against Athletic Bilbao
24:22in the quarter-finals
24:23of the Europa League.
24:26Let's hear from
24:26Barry Ferguson now.
24:29Well,
24:30let's straight to up
24:31the bus down,
24:32the analysts have got
24:33everything prepared for me,
24:34me and the staff
24:35and we'll sit down
24:35and we'll start
24:36thinking about
24:39where we're going
24:40to approach it.
24:41Look,
24:41I've got a real good idea
24:42in my mind
24:43that way I'm going
24:43to approach it.
24:44In terms of personnel
24:45I just need to wait
24:46and three or four
24:47who are going
24:49to be available
24:49but if somebody's
24:50touch and go
24:51I'm not going
24:52to risk them
24:52because I need people
24:53who are ready
24:54to go to war
24:55basically
24:56because what an opportunity
24:57this is,
24:57not just for the group
24:58of players
24:58but the club
24:59to hopefully
25:00get into
25:01the semi-finals.
25:03Rangers adventures
25:04in Europe,
25:05Richard,
25:05have been great
25:06to watch this season.
25:08Obviously,
25:08Athletic Bilbao,
25:09really good side,
25:110-0 at Ibrox
25:12last Thursday
25:13Rangers reduced
25:13to 10 men.
25:14How much hope
25:15do you give Rangers
25:16to get through this tie?
25:18I think it's one of those
25:19where they go in again
25:20as underdogs.
25:22Going away from home
25:22in the second leg,
25:24you know,
25:24Athletic Bilbao will be,
25:26I think they'll be better
25:27at home than they were
25:27last week.
25:28For as good as Rangers
25:29were down to 10 men,
25:30I thought they were
25:31quite slow with the ball.
25:32It's almost as if,
25:33you know,
25:33if they scored a goal
25:34they'd have been,
25:35eh,
25:35weren't happy enough
25:36with that but it seemed
25:36like they were content
25:37to just,
25:38you know,
25:39not concede
25:40against the 10 men
25:41of Rangers but I think
25:42they'll speed up
25:43their play at home
25:45and I think it'll be
25:45a different tie for Rangers
25:46but,
25:47you know,
25:47we've seen them do this
25:48before,
25:49we've seen them go to
25:49Fenerbahce and demolish,
25:51you know,
25:52demolish them there
25:53so I give them a good chance
25:55because a lot of teams
25:56underestimate Rangers
25:57in Europe
25:57to their own downfall
25:59and I think
25:59Athletic Bilbao
26:00will be exactly the same.
26:01Just briefly,
26:01Callum,
26:02how well
26:02do Rangers need to do
26:04in Europe
26:05if Barry Ferguson's
26:06to get the job
26:06on a full-time basis?
26:07No,
26:08I think he's just
26:08taking each game
26:09as it comes,
26:10I think.
26:10Skillfully dodged
26:11I feel like.
26:12Skillfully dodged,
26:12isn't it?
26:13No,
26:13I think,
26:13listen,
26:14he's got that passion
26:15there,
26:15you know,
26:15I think,
26:16Rangers have been
26:16brilliant in Europe,
26:17you know,
26:17I thought they were
26:17terrific the other night
26:18especially with 10 men
26:19for about 80 minutes
26:20and give himself
26:21a real opportunity.
26:22It's great for
26:22Scottish football as well,
26:23you know,
26:24for these,
26:25for clubs to get far
26:26in the competition
26:27and we're wishing
26:27them all the best
26:28and it's the manager's union
26:29speaking here,
26:29isn't it?
26:30If life is too busy
26:33to watch all
