In der Komödie Four Mothers steht Edward kurz vor seinem Durchbruch als Autor. Nun heißt es, gleichzeitig seine kommende Pressetour und die Pflege seiner alternden Mutter zu vereinen. Womit er überhaupt nicht gerechnet hat: Drei seiner Freunde überlassen ihm spontan ihre eigenen Mütter zur Pflege. Plötzlich steht Edward mit vier Damen da und muss irgendwie versuchen, nicht durchzudrehen.
