Porthmadog manager Chris Jones' verdict on cup success against Radnor Valley

00:00Well, after that, we've got a final, Chris. A good end to the season in the Cup anyway.

00:067-1 win against Radnor Valley. What's your thoughts on that?

00:10Yeah, great win. Obviously it was like turning the clock back to July, August, September time

00:15where we were putting performances in like that all the time.

00:19It was a good feeling today to be able to put a good side out and feel confident in the squad that we've got today

00:24because it's been a long time since that's been the case really.

00:27We've been finding ways to put a squad together every week but you looked at the line-up today

00:31even when we looked at the bench, they were all unlucky not to start.

00:34A couple of lads weren't even in the squad today that were unlucky so that's where it should have been for months

00:38but we've been battling trying to get people back and that's what they can do when we've got everyone together

00:43and all fighting for the same cause. I mentioned before the game obviously that we've got to try and get to a final

00:49for this club with the support that we've had this season and you've seen in the first half an hour today

00:53how much they wanted it and went out and did the job for us.

00:56They did want it today which hasn't been over the last few weeks but they did want it but 1-1

01:01was it a bit of a shaky moment when they scored?

01:04I liked what I was seeing from us though obviously it was a mistake that led to the goal

01:08but I liked what I was seeing from us in possession and out of possession obviously

01:12the press was there surely noticeable to all supporters watching today how hard the lads worked out of possession

01:17that was back today. Again it's down to player availability when we've got everybody available like that

01:23and we have a good training week that's what they can do. I mean the scoreline doesn't do Radnor justice to be honest with you

01:29it's their first defeating. They've had one defeat since November so they beat Clannethed in the last round

01:35they're a good side so for us to go out and do what we did to them today it's a great result.

01:39Can we be with Houdini in the next couple of weeks and get out of this league?

01:43Well I don't know obviously it's not looking likely at the moment we've just got to do our job

01:48we ain't Connor's key next week which is going to be no easy game obviously we

01:52to do with them earlier on in the season so we want to put that right to our and beat them next week

01:56and then it's out of our hands we'll see where we are at the end of the game.

01:59At the end of today we're in the final and that's a success anyway.

02:02Yeah it's a great day all around obviously great performance, some great goals, hopefully entertained everyone

02:07and we just kicked that forward to next week now.
