00:00Welcome to Peterborough Milton Golf Club and in this video we're going to look at the seven gear
00:04mistakes you make once and never make again. If you've made any mistakes I'm about to talk you
00:10through you'll know how damaging and annoying it can be on the golf course and if you haven't made
00:14these mistakes hopefully you learn a lot from this video. Let's get started. Right the first
00:19gear mistake that you're going to make once and never make again is not having a waterproof golf
00:22bag with you on course. These things mean you don't have to worry about how many showers you
00:27get caught in how quick they come on you know your stuff's going to be dry in that bag you also
00:31don't have to mess around with one of the covers over the top if you don't want to and you know that
00:35your valuables the balls your clothing your food are all going to be nice and dry so whether it's
00:40a stand bag a cart bag or a tour bag make sure it's waterproof. We can all agree that clubs like
00:46this and even more bladed clubs than this look beautiful in the bag they're highly desirable and
00:51a lot of your mates will be envious if you've got a set of these however the second gear mistake I'm
00:55going to talk about now is falling into the trap of buying these too soon for your game. I'd only
01:00recommend these if you're an elite ball striker and a confident ball striker because if you're not
01:04you're going to find your distances with clubs like this become incredibly inconsistent and your golf game
01:08will suffer so don't fall into the trap like a lot of us do of getting blades too early for your game
01:13and make sure using golf clubs that help you out the most. The third gear mistake that you'll make
01:18once and never make again is playing with the wrong shafts. Now without a custom fit you'll just be
01:23guessing which ones you're using whether that's you think you're regular you think you're stiff
01:27ex-stiff or senior guessing is not the way forward and a custom fit will be perfect. Get this custom
01:32fit right and your golf clubs will suit your game way more and you'll optimise all of your performance
01:38so stop guessing which shafts you're using get a custom fit and get the most out of your game.
01:43The next gear mistake you'll make once and never again is not using one of these that's a distance
01:48measuring device. Whether it's a laser like this or a GPS device like this once you use it once you'll
01:54never want to be seen without one. These things give you super accurate yardages and allow you to
01:59hit better shots with more confidence. You can commit to them rather than guessing yardages out on course
02:05you'll get closer to the pin and maybe you'll hold a few more putts so make sure you've got yourself
02:09either a laser or a GPS device or any kind of distance measuring device and stop estimating your yardages.
02:16The next gear mistake you'll make once and never again is not investing in a proper pair
02:20of waterproof shoes. Whether it's the summer or the winter there's no worse feeling than trudging
02:25around for 16 or 17 holes with sopping wet socks and freezing cold feet so make sure whether it's
02:31summer or winter your shoes are 100% waterproof and never make that mistake again. The next gear mistake
02:38you'll make once and never again is buying a club online and not checking the specs. I've fallen into this
02:43trap myself I saw this lovely tailor-made rocket blades hybrid online and thought I'll have a go
02:48with that. It arrived it had a regular flex shaft and it was cut down by half an inch not my specs at
02:54all I didn't check them it's my own fault so when you go online to buy clubs make sure you check the
02:58specs are just right for you so they're right for your game and you can enjoy your new club. The last gear
03:04mistake you'll make once and never again is leaving your slope functionality on your laser rangefinder
03:10during a qualifying round. If you leave this on it can be very damaging you'll get DQ'd from the round
03:15entirely and your work will go to waste. Now most models have slope functionality now and most also
03:21have a really easy way to turn them on and off they'll also have a signifier it depends on the
03:26manufacturer as to whether it's on or off so you and your playing partners know whether you're legal
03:31or not so don't fall into the trap make sure your slopes off during any qualifying round and never get
03:36DQ'd again. So now you've watched this video you will not fall foul of any of these mistakes and be
03:42one step ahead of anyone who's not watched this video. Have I missed any? Are there any glaring ones
03:47I've forgotten about? Let me know in the comments below but for now from Peterborough Milton see you next time.
