00:00Have you got what it takes to make it all the way to our final question and join the 1% Club?
00:18Anyone has a chance to win because this quiz isn't about how much you know, it's about how your brain really works.
00:23As all our questions are about logic and common sense.
00:26So who will make it to the end and answer a question? Only 1% of the country can get right and win up to £100,000.
00:34Let's play the 1% Club.
00:40I'm hoping to win tonight's our 100 players.
00:47So come on, give me a shout if you think you'll do well tonight.
00:53Lady in the back there, what's your name?
00:54Helen.
00:55Hello Helen, why are you so confident?
00:57Well, because I usually do well when we're at home.
01:00How well?
01:01I usually get to the 1%.
01:03Do you really?
01:04Already you're the favourite.
01:07Is anyone waiting at home to find out how well you'll do?
01:10My husband is waiting somewhere in the streets of Manchester.
01:15Have you kicked him out or something?
01:17Well, he drove and he wasn't a contestant.
01:18Oh, see, I thought you lived up here but he wasn't allowed in the house.
01:22Well...
01:23What will you do if you win the money?
01:25Buy him a caravan.
01:26No, what will you do if you win the money?
01:27Actually, he wants a caravan.
01:29Does he?
01:30Listen, good luck.
01:32OK, anybody think they'll do badly tonight?
01:34Give us a cheer.
01:34Oh!
01:35A woman who a minute ago cheered because she thought she was going to do well.
01:38What's your name?
01:39Charlotte.
01:39Hello, Charlotte.
01:40Hi.
01:40Why are you so negative about your chances?
01:42The only reason I've come on is to meet you.
01:44Oh, well, we've done that now.
01:45Off you go.
01:45OK.
01:48Imagine if your light just went to blue now.
01:50Are you not a very competitive person?
01:52Oh, I am.
01:52Oh, you are?
01:53I'm actually a serial competitor.
01:55In what respect?
01:55So, I'll enter, like, 30 competitions a day.
01:58A day?
01:59Yeah.
02:00OK.
02:00Are these skill competitions or look competitions?
02:02Absolutely no skill required whatsoever.
02:04Right.
02:05So, something like this you might struggle with.
02:06Is that what you're saying?
02:07Yes.
02:07OK.
02:07Well, listen, good luck.
02:08Now, don't forget, you can play along at home if you want.
02:10All you have to do is download the app.
02:12OK, before we ask our first question, here's a reminder of how the show works.
02:15We asked a cross-section of people from all over Britain a list of our unique questions.
02:20Based on their answers, we can tell statistically what percentage of the country should get each one right.
02:26Tonight, I'll be asking those exact questions to our 100 contestants, beginning with the easier one that 90% of Britain got right,
02:33and ending with the most challenging question that only 1% of the great British public answered correctly.
02:39At the start of the show, every contestant is given a £1,000 stake.
02:43If they get any question wrong, they are out of the game, and the £1,000 is transferred to the 1% prize pot.
02:51Whoever gets the third list in the quiz wins £10,000, and the chance to answer the final 1% question to win everything in the prize pot,
02:59and take home up to £100,000.
03:07Right, let's get on with it.
03:08It's time for our first question.
03:10So, as ever, this is one that 90% of our survey got right.
03:14Let's see how you do.
03:17Which of these options completes the bottom picture?
03:21Your time starts now.
03:27I bet he works at the Vegan Bicycle Collective.
03:29OK, your time is up.
03:47Let's see whose lights stay on and are still in the game, and how many people are out.
03:51Right, we lost four people, though.
04:07Let's have a look at the answer.
04:09It is B.
04:11In the bottom picture, you can see that the person has their glasses hanging on their shirt,
04:14so they can't have them on their face at the same time.
04:18We've lost Helen Bladen.
04:19Where are you, Helen?
04:20Oh, no.
04:22You are kidding me.
04:25Hang on, hang on.
04:26Didn't you just tell me you usually get to the 1% question?
04:29I might have been lying.
04:30You might have been lying.
04:32What happened?
04:33I didn't notice the glasses.
04:35I suppose it's that big, loud, flowery shirt that doesn't have.
04:38It is.
04:39Blame your shirt.
04:40I thought you'd be trained in that.
04:42Well...
04:43And hubby is definitely not getting a caravan.
04:47Oh, no.
04:48I've got to admit, that sentence is the least rock and roll thing I've ever said.
04:51Never mind.
04:53So there are 96 people still left in the game,
04:56and the £1,000 of everyone who got the question wrong goes into the prize pot.
04:59Let's see what that's done to the total.
05:00£4,000.
05:08OK, it's time for the 80% question.
05:11So this is a question that 80% of the people we asked managed to get right.
05:15Let's see how you get on with this one.
05:19Which of these is the odd one out when there is more than one?
05:22Your time starts now.
05:27Remember, it's multiple choice,
05:28so there's more than one way to look like an idiot.
05:30LAUGHTER
05:31OK, your time is up.
05:48Let's see who got it right.
05:49So we lost 13 people.
06:11Let's have a look at the answer.
06:12B, C and D have plurals that end in S's, hats, cars and chairs.
06:18The plural of mouse is mice.
06:20Someone who got it wrong is Maria Nisar.
06:22What happened, Maria?
06:24I obviously just didn't read it properly and the pressure got to me.
06:27That's fine.
06:27It's you. It's you.
06:28It's my fault. I get it.
06:30It's nothing to do with your logic.
06:32It's my fault.
06:32Are you a competitive person because you sound like one?
06:35I'm...
06:35Yeah, I'm inherently competitive.
06:37Are you? How does it show?
06:38Mostly against my husband, Uzzie, who's here today.
06:41Oh, really? Where's husband?
06:42I'll be me.
06:43So what's your name, sir?
06:44Uzzie.
06:45Uzzie.
06:45You got it right, didn't you?
06:46You're damn right I did.
06:49He's never going to let this go now.
06:51That's the least sympathetic response we've ever had from a married couple.
06:55How did you feel when she turned blue like that?
06:57Oh, I was buzzing.
07:00This is incredible.
07:01Proper competitiveness.
07:03Okay, well, listen, good luck, Uzzie.
07:05We've also lost Jessica Sims.
07:06Where are you, Jessica?
07:07I thought it was a rat.
07:08You thought it was a rat, so you thought...
07:10Everything seemed to be plural, so I just...
07:13Never mind.
07:14What do you do, Jessica?
07:16Oh, I used to be a puppet lady.
07:17Did you?
07:18What kind of puppets?
07:20Oh, hand puppets, basically.
07:22Yeah?
07:22I kind of had two jobs at the same time,
07:24so some people would tell you I was a puppet lady
07:27and other people would tell you it's that bitch from the job centre.
07:30LAUGHTER
07:31LAUGHTER
07:32Please tell me that you combined them sometimes.
07:37Are you looking for a job?
07:39Wait a minute.
07:40Ooh, there aren't any.
07:42LAUGHTER
07:42Oh, well, listen, unlucky for going out.
07:45Right, let's see what that's done to the prize pot.
07:49£17,000.
07:52Right, we're on to the 70% question.
07:56Let's take a look.
07:59What four-letter word logically fills the gap?
08:03Your time starts now.
08:04OK, your time is up.
08:28Let's see if we got it right.
08:30Right, we lost no-one.
08:43Let's have a look at the answer.
08:45It's Liv.
08:46All the words in uppercase are anagrams of each other.
08:48Liv is the only other word that uses the same letters and fits the gap.
08:51I don't know why I explained it.
08:52You all got it right.
08:53Right, who got it right?
08:55Dopeika Sharma.
08:56Dopeika.
08:57Well done.
08:58How quickly did you get that?
09:00Pretty quick, I think, yeah.
09:02Yeah, well done.
09:03What do you do?
09:05Sorry, is it Dopeika?
09:06Dopeika, yeah.
09:07Everyone calls me Dips.
09:08It's easier.
09:09You call me Dips?
09:10Yeah, my patients do.
09:12Your patients call you Dips?
09:13Yeah, I'm a gynecologist.
09:15My...
09:15LAUGHTER
09:16I'm sorry, you're a gynecologist and your name is Dip.
09:21I mean, my phrase in life is, you are the boss of your own vagina.
09:26It's just true.
09:27Sorry, can you just rewind that?
09:29I think you did a catchphrase there that I wasn't expecting.
09:33You really say that to people, to the...
09:35I was going to say the customers, they're probably not called customers,
09:37let's call them patients.
09:38The ladies, yeah, no, just because sometimes they want to feel in control
09:42of what's happening and I'm like, well, at any point you want me to stop,
09:45you tell me to stop, you're the boss of your vagina.
09:47It makes everyone else in the room cringe, but they'll have a giggle,
09:50they'll relax.
09:51And it helps settle people down.
09:52Yeah.
09:53Yeah, well, it's certainly caused an atmosphere here.
09:55Is it not a good life order, ladies?
09:58There we go.
09:59APPLAUSE
10:00OK, we're going to be talking to you a bit more
10:03to see if you've got any more catchphrases.
10:06Right, let's see what that's done to the prize pot.
10:10Nothing, cos you've all got it right, of course.
10:12£17,000.
10:13So, here we go.
10:15It's time for the 60% question.
10:20Let's take a look at it.
10:23Asha's local set of traffic lights
10:25has the following sequence on repeat.
10:27Red for nine seconds, red and amber for two seconds,
10:31green for ten seconds, and amber for three seconds.
10:34Which colour light is on for the longest amount of time
10:37within the sequence?
10:38OK, your time starts now.
10:40This is what we need to do here.
10:41We'll be talking about it.
10:42Now, it's time for you to set up.
10:43We'll be talking about it.
10:44We'll be talking about it.
10:44We'll be talking about it.
10:45We'll be talking about it.
10:46MUSIC PLAYS
11:11Your time is up. OK, let's see who got it right.
11:13MUSIC PLAYS
11:15OK, we lost six of you. Let's have a look at the answer.
11:34It is red. In every sequence, red is on for 11 seconds,
11:37amber is only on for five and green for ten.
11:39We've lost Dan Titley. How are you, Dan? I'm here.
11:42Great name. Thanks. I love the name Titley.
11:44Yeah. That's what people say to me.
11:46You're always in charge of your own Titley.
11:47Yeah, exactly.
11:48Um, tell me, this is just going to go on all night, isn't it?
11:53I'm so sorry. What do you do, Mr Titley?
11:55I'm a HEV driver. I used to be a coach driver, though.
11:58Hang on, you're a driver and you got this one wrong?
12:00Yeah, I know.
12:02I don't care. I just got through them anyway.
12:04Never there counted.
12:06What have you done with the money, Dan?
12:07Spentied.
12:08Sometimes anecdotes can be too long.
12:13Yeah, exactly.
12:14Um, right, let's see what that's done to the prize pot.
12:17We're on £23,000.
12:21Right, it's time for a quick break.
12:23We've lost 23 people here already.
12:25I hope you're doing OK at home.
12:26And don't forget, you can play along on the app.
12:28After the break, we'll be moving closer to seeing
12:30if anyone here can answer the 1% question.
12:32See you in a bit.
12:33CHEERING AND APPLAUSE
12:36CHEERING AND APPLAUSE
12:39CHEERING AND APPLAUSE

12:52could be going home with up to £100,000.
12:55CHEERING AND APPLAUSE
12:56So, words on to everyone who's still in the game.
12:59And from now on, we are going to give you the option
13:01to pay for a pass to the next question.
13:03And if you do, your £1,000 will be transferred to the prize pot.
13:06However, if you go as far as the 30% question
13:09without using your pass,
13:10you'll get the chance to take your £1,000 and leave the game.
13:14Right, it is time for the 50% question.
13:17BOOM!
13:19Let's take a look at it.
13:21BOOM!
13:22The nine-letter name of which insect is written below
13:25with its letters in alphabetical order.
13:29OK, your 30 seconds starts now.
13:30To win this game, you need a sharp, lateral mind.
13:36To host it, you need an autocue.
13:38LAUGHTER
13:39Don't forget that pass.
13:51OK, your time is up.
13:52Let's see if you got it right.
13:54MUSIC PLAYS
13:59OK, your time is up.
14:01Let's see if you got it right.
14:03MUSIC PLAYS
14:06Right, we lost two of you, though.
14:20Let's have a look at the answer.
14:21There it is. Bumblebee.
14:22Now, 11 of you didn't know the answer to this,
14:25and you used your pass, including Todd Andrews.
14:28Hello.
14:29Did you not see that at all?
14:31No, that's why I pressed pass.
14:33LAUGHTER
14:34What do you do, Todd?
14:35I'm a finance director.
14:36Are you?
14:37What do you do in your spare time?
14:38I have tortoise, pet tortoise.
14:40I'm really into tortoise facts.
14:41I know everything about tortoises.
14:42Do you?
14:43I have one called Betty.
14:44She fits in upon my hands.
14:46She's three and a half years old now.
14:48How long do they live for?
14:49Up to 80 to 100 years.
14:51Wow.
14:52But you can't tell the sex of them until they're five years old.
14:56Why is that?
14:57You just can't need a gynaecologist to look at it.
14:59It's because they go inside the shell.
15:00Yeah.
15:01And they're in charge of their own shell.
15:03They can do what they like.
15:04LAUGHTER
15:05Yeah.
15:06Oh, well, you're still in Toddwell.
15:08I'm really into tortoise facts and know everything about tortoises.

16:29BUZZER
16:31Uzi, I want an honest answer. How are you feeling?
16:35I just want to laugh. But I also feel bad. I have to go home with him at the end of the day, so...

17:15Okay, getting serious now, it's time for the 40% question.
17:20Let's take a look.
17:23Here are some very clever chemical elements.
17:26What letter replaces the question mark?
17:29Your time starts now.
17:34If you don't know what an element is, it's a big grey animal with a trunk.
17:38LAUGHTER
17:39Don't forget that pass.
18:00Your time is up.
18:01Okay, let's see if you've got it right.
18:09Right, we lost two of you there.
18:19Let's have a look at the answer.
18:21It's S.
18:22The chemical symbols spell out the word genius.
18:24Someone who didn't know it but used their past.
18:26Amy Longhurst.
18:28Hello, Amy.
18:29Hello.
18:29How are you doing?
18:31A bit annoyed.
18:32Well, did you get it after the 30 seconds or...?
18:34I got it at the beginning and then I doubted my spelling.
18:37I said it so many times in my head and it didn't sound like a real word.
18:40What, genius?
18:41Yeah.
18:42You've heard the word genius?
18:44Yeah.
18:44Oh, but you didn't think that spelt genius?
18:46Well, I don't even know, so I just passed.
18:47You just panicked?
18:48Yes.
18:48That's what it's for.
18:49What made you apply for the show?
18:51My dad, actually.
18:53So he...
18:53It's really funny.
18:54He's the splitting image of you.
18:56Is he?
18:57Yeah, and he just won't admit it, so I wanted to come on here.
18:59Why won't he admit it?
19:01LAUGHTER
19:02Honestly, I don't know.
19:04He thinks he looks like Bradley Cooper.
19:07Yes.
19:08Carry on.
19:09Makes sense.
19:10So do I.
19:11But, yeah, so I just had to come on...
19:13Sorry, are you saying it's impossible to look like Bradley Cooper and me?
19:16There is a Venn diagram where me and Bradley Cooper could meet in the middle, surely.
19:20All right, Tommy Cooper.
19:21LAUGHTER
19:22OK.
19:25Let's see what that's done to the prize pot.
19:26£60,000.
19:30Right, it's getting tricky.
19:32Let's move on to the 35% question.
19:37Here it is.
19:40Five siblings' birthdays all fall in the same month.
19:43Bob's is six days after Anna's.
19:44Kat's is seven days after Bob's.
19:46Dan's is eight days after Kat's.
19:48And Eric's is nine days after Dan's.
19:50In which month were they all born?
19:52OK, your time starts now.
20:25OK, your time is up.
20:26Let's see if you've got it right and how many people are out.
20:29MUSIC PLAYS
20:31Right, we lost six people.
20:47Let's have a look at the answer.
20:49It's D, August.
20:51The month needs to be 31 days long and August is the only option with 31 days.
20:57We've lost Kirstie Sobey.
20:58Yeah.
20:59Oh, Kirstie.
21:00How did you think you were going to do, Kirstie?
21:01I didn't think I was going to do that, Will, actually, because I'm thick as mints.
21:05Thick as mints?
21:06I am.
21:07What do you do, Kirstie?
21:08I'm a hairdresser.
21:09Are you?
21:09And what made you apply?
21:11Well, I wanted to put the Geordies on the map, but that wasn't going to happen, was it?
21:14I think Newcastle is already on a map, but, you know.
21:17Er, logically, for myself.
21:19Oh, I see.
21:20Never mind.
21:20Well, listen, unlucky, I mean, you did well to get this, so it's not easy getting to the 35% question.
21:25Right, let's see what that's done to the prize putt.
21:30£71,000.
21:32It's time for a quick break.
21:34Well done to everyone still in the game.
21:35We'll see you in a bit when someone here could win up to £100,000.
21:38Welcome back to the 1% Club.
21:54We've been asking questions which have been tested out on a cross-section of the British public,
21:58and we've been whittling down the contestants here tonight, and they're left with 51 people
22:02with their lights still on.
22:03As a reward, any contestant who hasn't played their pass and still has the £1,000 now has
22:08a choice.
22:08Play on for the big money in the prize pot, or you can take your £1,000 and leave the
22:12quiz right now.
22:13So, first of all, let's see which players still have their £1,000.
22:17So, those of you with your lights on, you can take your money and leave the show if you
22:21want to.
22:21Please make your decision right now.
22:34So, six of you have decided to take your £1,000 and leave the game, including
22:38Taran Singh.
22:39Hi.
22:40Hello, Taran.
22:41Was it always the plan to get to this and just get the grand?
22:43Yeah.
22:44What are you going to do with it?
22:46I want to learn how to dive.
22:47To dive?
22:48Yeah, yeah.
22:49Like scuba diving.
22:50Like scuba diving.
22:51Oh, OK.
22:52£1,000 be enough?
22:53We'll contribute to it.
22:54Yeah.
22:55I can't say, I wouldn't hold your breath.
22:56Well done, you've got £1,000.
22:57And well done to everyone else who's got £1,000.
22:58Congratulations.
22:59Right, so the rest of you have decided to play on.
23:00Let's see if that's a gamble that will pay off and if any of you can go all the way and
23:10join the 1% Club.
23:11And remember, if you've still got your £1,000, you can pay for a pass to the next question
23:16if you don't know the answer.
23:18It is time for the 30% question.
23:22Let's take a look.
23:25What two well-known eight-letter words are made up when the following are correctly paired up?
23:30And your 30 seconds start now.
23:35I believe in you.
23:36But then again, I also believe that I could cure my bad back with crystal healing.
23:40LAUGHTER
23:46OK, your time is up.
24:04Let's see if you've got it right.
24:06We lost three people on that one. Let's have a look at the answer.
24:24It's notebook and windmill.
24:27Somebody got it right. It's Paula Tiernan. Hello.
24:29Hello.
24:30Have you got your pass?
24:31Yes, I have.
24:32Paula, what will you do if you win the money?
24:34Right, well, I'm packing work early and I really want to go backpacking across Thailand.
24:41However, my husband won't do it because he doesn't really want to fly that far.
24:46So I'm looking for somebody who's on this show to actually take with me.
24:50Male or female?
24:52Male?
24:54No, we just go. It doesn't matter.
24:56Whoever wants to come. If you're up for Italy, you can come with me as well.
25:00There you go.
25:01Anybody want to go to Thailand?
25:03LAUGHTER
25:04The people that are out, I'll go because I have plans to go to Thailand and it's all gone wrong.
25:11OK, Paula, well, good luck finding your person you're going to take to.
25:15How did you get on, love?
25:16Well, I didn't win, but this is Peter and we're moving in together.
25:19LAUGHTER
25:20Alice Knox, you are still with us.
25:23Hiya.
25:24All right, Alice?
25:25Yeah, I'm all right, you?
25:26Yeah, good, thank you. You got it right.
25:27I did.
25:28Have you still got your pass?
25:29I have.
25:30You sound very surprised.
25:31Well, I usually do quite well.
25:33Yeah.
25:34But I'm now surprised that I'm doing well.
25:35Oh, I see what you mean, because the pressure of the lights, you thought you'd go out early.
25:38Yeah.
25:39What do you do, Alice?
25:40I'm a musical theatre student.
25:42I thought you were quite confident.
25:44Yeah.
25:45Any hobbies?
25:46Yeah, I do stunt training.
25:49She's fantastic.
25:50So when you come down, you'll just jump over the balcony and do a roll.
25:53Fantastic.
25:54Right, we look forward to seeing you in the 1% question.
25:56Right, let's see what that's done to the prize pot.
26:00We are on £72,000.
26:02OK.
26:03It's getting tough now.
26:05We're at the 25% stage.
26:10Here is the question.
26:11There is a nine-letter word.
26:14When you remove the first five letters, some must remain.
26:17And when you remove the last four letters, the word becomes whole.
26:21What is the nine-letter word?
26:23The time starts now.
26:24The time starts now.
26:25The freedom of the crowd is a builder.
26:26Again, we're at the 25% stage of the third tier.
26:27We're at the 25% stage of powerful Liverpool.
26:29With whatever you want.
26:31OK, your time is up.
26:56Let's see if you've got it right.
27:01Right, we lost two people. Let's have a look at the answer.
27:17It's wholesome. Without the first five letters, you have some.
27:19Without the last four letters, the word becomes whole.
27:22We've lost Abbey Bennison. Hi. Hi, Abbey.
27:26I had no clue, honestly. No clue.
27:28Never mind. What do you do, Abbey?
27:30I work in a supermarket. Do you? Which one?
27:32Asda. Asda, OK.
27:33What do you do in your spare time? Any hobbies?
27:36I'm also a singer and a burlesque dancer.
27:40Burlesque? Yeah.
27:41Where do you do your burlesque dancer, please?
27:43Not at Asda?
27:45Yeah, just in bathroom, stock room.
27:47Burlesque dancing in aisle four, please.
27:51Never mind. Abbey, unlucky.
27:53Let's see what that's done to the prize pot.
27:57£74,000.
27:59CHEERING
28:00We've got 40 people still in the game
28:02and are down to the 20% question now.
28:07Let's take a look at it.
28:08What will be the next year where the four digits will add up
28:13to the same total as the digits in 2025?
28:16And your time starts now.
28:18And your time starts now.
28:19Let's go.
28:20Hm.
28:21Okay, your time is up.
28:50Let's see if you've got it right.
28:51Right, we lost six of you.
29:11Let's have a look at the answer.
29:13It's 2034.
29:14Two plus zero plus two plus five is nine,
29:16and two plus zero plus three plus four is nine.
29:19We've lost IK Adeyemi.
29:21Where are you, IK?
29:22Over here.
29:23IK, that's a great, IK, just the initials I and K.
29:26I like that.
29:27That is great.
29:28I don't know much about text talk, but now you're out,
29:30that probably should be IDK Adeyemi.
29:32IK, IK, IK.
29:33They are all the under 18s though.
29:36Any hobbies?
29:37Yes, I'm big into film.
29:39Oh, are you?
29:40So I'm one of those people that has a film list,
29:41so any film I watch, I jot it down.
29:44I also am pretty good at telling you the year a film was made.
29:49OK, you ready?
29:50Yeah, give me an easy one.
29:51Jaws?
29:5275.
29:53He's right.
29:54Applause?
29:56Wow!
29:58That's...
29:59That's the most confident audience member we've ever had.
30:03Applause now!
30:04Thank you!
30:05And silence!
30:06OK, well, listen.
30:08Unlucky, OK.
30:09Let's see what that's done to the prize pot.
30:11What?
30:14£79,000.
30:15We are getting close to the end now.
30:19It's time for the 15% question.
30:23Let's take a look.
30:26What house number and street is represented below?
30:29The time starts now.
30:36If that's the address she gave you,
30:37I don't think she wants to see you again.
30:39LAUGHTER
30:50Can use that pass, remember.
31:02OK, your time is up.
31:03Let's see who's light's still on.
31:04OK, we have lost seven people.
31:05Let's have a look at the answer.
31:06It's 10 Downing Street.
31:07Ing appears down ten times.
31:08So it's 10 Downing Street.
31:09Someone who used the pass there is Dopeika.
31:10Dopeika, our gynaecologist.
31:11Yeah.
31:12Show me both hands.
31:13Show me both hands.
31:14OK, we have lost seven people.
31:15OK, we have lost seven people.
31:16Let's have a look at the answer.
31:17OK, we have lost seven people.
31:18Let's have a look at the answer.
31:22It's 10 Downing Street.
31:23It's 10 Downing Street.
31:24Ing appears down ten times.
31:25So it's 10 Downing Street.
31:26Someone who used the pass there is Dopeika.
31:27Dopeika, our gynaecologist.
31:28Show me both hands.
31:29How many are joking?
31:30Um, give us a good look.
31:31Kevin Line.
31:32You're still with us, Kevin.
31:33I am, yeah.
31:34Still got your pass?
31:35I have still got my pass.
31:36Oh, and what do you do for a living, Kevin, when you're not David Baddiel's stunt double?
31:51I'm a retired business consultant.
31:54Are you?
31:55What do you do now, Kevin?
31:56I spend a lot of time researching my family tree.
31:59Do you?
32:00I do.
32:01What have you found out?
32:02I'm related to Simon Cowell.
32:04No, you're not.
32:05Yeah.
32:06Are you?
32:07Yeah.
32:08I'm the great-grand-nephew of the husband of his second cousin twice removed.
32:11That is an interesting fact.
32:14But I don't like it.
32:16I love it.
32:18Let's see what that's done to the prize pot.
32:21£81,000.
32:25Right, we are down to our last 27 players.
32:30After the break, we'll find out which of our remaining contestants can go on and play the 1% question.
32:34See you in a bit.
32:35Welcome back to the 1% Club.
32:36We are very nearly at the point where we will discover who our winner will be.
32:53Now, here's how the end of the game works.
32:55Whoever does the best here tonight will win £10,000.
32:58But if they're feeling brave, they can risk their £10,000 by trying to answer the 1% question.
33:04Get it right and they will win everything in the prize pot which is currently sitting at...
33:08£81,000.
33:11Now, that is quite a low figure at this stage because there is quite a lot of you left in.
33:20In fact, there are 27 players left.
33:2313 of you have still got a pass.
33:25The bad news is there might be about 15 of you in the final.
33:29Remember, the 13 of you who still have your £1,000, you can pay for a pass but you can't use it on the 1% question.
33:38But if you still got it at the 1% question, you will get to keep that ground whatever happens.
33:42Right, there are 27 people left in the quiz and it's now time for the 10% question.
33:47Let's have a look.
33:51What number replaces the question mark in the picture below?
33:56And your time starts now.
34:00I feel sorry for the postman on this street.
34:02Your time is up.
34:17OK, let's see if you got it right.
34:30Right, we lost 10 people there. Let's have a look at the answer.
34:55It's 12. The number in the roof is revealed by adding the numbers in the two windows together and taking away the number on the door.
35:02So 5 plus 12 equals 17 and 17 minus 5 is 12.
35:06So as well as 10 people not knowing that, 10 people use their pass, including Govind Cobander.
35:12Hello. Hello, Govind. How are you?
35:14I'm all right. Up till now and then with that one, there's too many numbers on screen.
35:19What will you do if you win the money?
35:20So I play in a few orchestras and one of them is about to turn 30 next year.
35:24OK.
35:25It's a London Gay Symphony Orchestra and we probably won't go on a massive tour.
35:29So the money will go towards that?
35:31Some of it will go towards that, yeah, absolutely.
35:33Good stuff. All right, well, good luck, Govind.
35:36Tony Jenner, you got it right. Hello, Tony.
35:37Hi.
35:38Have you still got your pass, Tony?
35:39No, mine went a couple of goes ago.
35:41Oh, OK.
35:42And what are you going to do with the money?
35:44Uh, profiteroles.
35:45OK.
35:46I had a major operation a few years ago.
35:50To remove them?
35:52You're not thinking of grapes or hemorrhoids, are you?
35:55No, I don't.
35:56Is that what you're calling them nowadays, profiteroles?
35:59Go on.
36:00And for some reason it turned me gluten intolerant.
36:03OK.
36:04There must be gluten-free profiteroles out there.
36:06There are, but I haven't found any I like.
36:08Oh, OK.
36:09So you'll invest the money in inventing a gluten-free profiterole.
36:12That and other stuff, yeah.
36:14Well, listen, good luck.
36:15You're still with us.
36:16David Cain.
36:17Where are you, David?
36:18Hi, Lee.
36:19David, you've got a pass.
36:20Yeah.
36:21You must be confident.
36:22Yeah.
36:23Well, because you let your face know.
36:24Because you're a little terrified.
36:25I'm still in denial.
36:26I'm still in denial.
36:27What will you do with that big prize if you win it?
36:29Robot butler.
36:30Of course.
36:31Why not?
36:32You know.
36:33What do you do, David?
36:34So I'm a demand planning manager for a toilet paper manufacturer.
36:37Are you?
36:38Yeah.
36:39Can you tell us which one?
36:40Let's say there's a koala involved.
36:42Oh, yes.
36:43I remember that.
36:44Because I'm always thinking it would be softer to use the koala.
36:46LAUGHTER
36:47OK.
36:48Well, listen, you're still with us, David.
36:49Well done.
36:50Right.
36:51Let's see what that's done to the prize pot.
36:53We are on £91,000.
36:55Right.
36:56Getting very serious now.
36:57We are down to the 5% question.
37:01And remember, Sophie, David and Ravinda, it's the last time you can pay for a pass.
37:09Let's take a look at it.
37:11What is the hidden pattern in these four phrases that makes them have something in common?
37:17And your time starts now.
37:18Well done.
37:19Well done.
37:20The first thing goes over the left.
37:21And your time starts now.
37:22Now, what's the right time starts now?
37:24MUSIC
37:50OK, your time is up. Let's see if you've got it right.
37:54MUSIC
38:12Right, we lost five people, though. Let's have a look at the answer.
38:16It's compass point. A compass point appears in each pair of words.
38:20So, we've lost five people. Bad luck, but well done for getting this far.
38:23And we have our finalists. So, congratulations to...
38:46You've made it through to the 1% question. Come down and join me.
38:49MUSIC
38:59And I should start by saying, because there are 12 of you in the final,
39:03that's actually a record for the 1% Club.
39:05So, that means you are officially our cleverest contestants.
39:09CHEERING AND APPLAUSE
39:12Now, because you've done so well and made it to our final question,
39:19you win a shirt of £10,000.
39:21And, Ravinda, because you didn't use your pass,
39:24you are guaranteed to leave with your £1,000 now, whatever happens.
39:28So, well done, Ravinda.
39:29APPLAUSE
39:31But now, you all face a dilemma.
39:36You can leave the show tonight and take your shirt,
39:38which works out at...
39:41£833.
39:43Or you can risk it all by attempting the 1% question.
39:47Get it right and you will win your shirt of everything in the prize pot,
39:50which stands at...
39:52£93,000.
39:56CHEERING AND APPLAUSE
39:58Get it wrong and you will leave with nothing.
40:01Obviously, if one of you decides to play on and gets it right,
40:04then you'll win the prize pot.
40:06If more than one of you decides to play on,
40:08you'll win a share of it with anybody else who gets it right.
40:11So, first of all, it's now time to make your decision.
40:14MUSIC PLAYS
40:27Right, all of your lights are on,
40:28which means that you've decided to play on.
40:30CHEERING AND APPLAUSE
40:36So, after whittling down the contestants here in the studio,
40:39we are left with the 1% question.
40:42If you all get this right,
40:45you will win your share of the prize pot
40:47and become members of the 1% club.
40:49Good luck. This is your 1% question.
40:57If you remove all the underlined letters from the sentence below,
