00:00where are you at on SGA as it pertains to being
00:03that guy's good enough to lead a team to a championship?
00:08There's an argument to be made that it's obviously Jokic won,
00:12and then depending on what an individual person values,
00:16it's like SGA is like a 2A and Luka could be a 2B or vice versa.
00:21I would not have SGA lower than 3.
00:25That's what it comes down to.
00:26And again, Giannis doing this, he's unbelievable.
00:32Defensively, Giannis could always be up there for a defensive player of the year,
00:34et cetera, et cetera.
00:35So what do you value?
00:36But you can make the argument that it's Jokic, SGA, Luka, Giannis,
00:40or Luka, SGA, Giannis.
00:42I think there's no reason to have SGA lower than 3 at worst.
00:46You know, coming into this season, I had him as a top 5 player in the league.
00:51To me, it was, you know, and I had him beat up there respectfully because of it.
00:57But the injuries kind of took him out of it, right?
01:01So if you redo, and I do my redo my rankings, Jokic's number one.
01:06I think Giannis' stretch down the end of the season has been out of this world.
01:11I still do think that, and Kevin and I talk about this all the time, like,
01:16Giannis also needs to start guarding the other team's best player and saying,
01:19I'm locking you up, right?
01:21Which I think he's capable of.
01:23I don't know if he's ever gone to the doc and said, I want to do this.
01:26That, to me, it's SGA.
01:28I've now moved SGA ahead of Luka because of his defensive ability, right?
01:36And that's not no knock on Luka because Luka's probably, like, right behind him at number four.
01:43What he has done, and I want people to understand this.
01:46Like, when you think about great shooting metrics for a point guard, right?
01:50You go by the Steve Nash Kyrie 50-40-90.
01:54Well, right now, he's going to end the season 51.9, 37.5, 89.8.
02:01He's basically just about there, and it's the highest three-point shooting percentage of his career
02:08except for 2021 when he only played 35 games.
02:12So, statistically, shooting the ball, he's had his best season.
02:16His team's had their best season.
02:18Defensively, he's had his best season.
02:19To me, he firmly is, right now, the third-best player in the world,
02:23and he could jump and easily be two where Tom has him right now.
02:27Yeah, I think, again, so, you know, one of the reasons I had him two
02:30is when I'll do my preseason rankings, availability is a big part of it,
02:34and Giannis Antetokounmpo has just not even come close to checking that box.
02:38Forget, like, Embiid's inability to be available has covered for Giannis'.
02:46Because Giannis' – again, last year, does anyone remember what Giannis did in the postseason?
02:50No, because he didn't play.
02:52Because that's been a thing for Giannis, unfortunately, after they won –
02:55he got injured the year they won the title, by the way, in the postseason
02:58and missed basketball games.
02:59I think SGA actually has the opportunity to grab the top spot
03:03because if you finish a season with an MVP and a finals MVP, quite frankly,
03:06it's very difficult to argue it's anyone else.
