In this video, Neil Tappin and Jezz Ellwood look at 10 of the most demoralising shots you can hit. We all hit bad shots at the wrong time and these some of the most frustrating. They cover everything from hitting your opening tee shot into trouble to three putting from close range for bogey.

00:00Now golf is a fantastic sport, I love it, but as most of you watching this will know,
00:04it is also incredibly frustrating at times. Now we're here at the London Club and in this
00:10video we're going to take a look at 10 of the most demoralising golf shots you can hit.
00:17Let's get started.
00:22OK, so right of the 12th hole here at the London Club and Jez has got two options, he can either
00:31chip it back out over to the left here, or he can be a bit more aggressive and play it
00:35to the right. I'm not sure there's a huge amount to be gained there, it's par 5, he doesn't
00:38need to go for it. Let's see what option he goes for.
00:42Ooh, that is demoralising.
00:46There's nothing to be gained this way at all.
00:50Well these short irons have been causing Neil a bit of grief of late, a tendency to pull
00:57them left of target, but he's been working hard on the range, putting in the hours to
01:01try and sort things out. 150 here, only a short iron for Neil.
01:08It's got 50 yards left.
01:15Ooh, that is a shank.
01:27OK, so 11th hole here at the London Club, tough par 3. Now Jez has hit a really good
01:36drive down into the mouth of the green, should be able to escape here with a pie, just deciding
01:40whether to chip it or to putt it. Pretty sure he'll go for the putter. Oh, oh, he's gone for
01:48the chipper. Let's see how he gets on.
01:54Gordon, why don't you just use the putter?
02:01So this is the 13th on the heritage course at the London Club. It's a classic risk-reward
02:05par 4. He's playing off the four tees today and it's straight down wind. Now Tapas is a
02:10pretty long hitter. I'm pretty sure that he will have a go at this. Probably doesn't even
02:15need driver. So, oh. Looks like he actually has something else in mind.
02:23Oh no, don't go left. So that is just what he didn't want to do. Iron for safety, found
02:31a bunker, now has to play straight over the water.
02:38So we're here on the 10th green on the heritage course at the London Club. Neil has left himself
02:42this 12-footer for birdie after a good approach. He needs something to happen in this round.
02:47So let's see. Well, he's knocked it a little way past, but he should have no trouble in
02:55just tidying that one up. I'm sure he would have liked it to be just a touch closer maybe,
03:01but well, let's see. Oh my goodness, the horseshoe. That is going to hurt.
03:15Tenth hole, third shot. Now, this is a tricky scenario. Downhill lie, tight flag, we've all
03:21been there. But Jez is an experienced campaigner. He knows full well the number one mistake you
03:27make in this position is to get too cute with it. So Jez is just going to play the sort of
03:32old pro shot, hit it past the flag, take your chance from sort of 10 or 15 feet. Very, very
03:37simple. No mistakes need to be made. Oops. So it's competition day and Neil's hopes are up. He's been
03:53playing well in friendly rounds recently. He knows that his handicap should be coming down. This is the
03:59day that he thinks he's going to do it. He's treated himself to a new glove. He's treated himself
04:05to a brand new golf ball. He's even done a little bit of stretching on the tee there. So this is the day
04:11where things all go completely according to plan. Or not.
04:27Oh, no. No. It's gone left. I have to play a provisional. Oh.
04:35Well, I see what Neil was trying to do there. This is the twelfth hole on the heritage course
04:39at the London club. Really requires a little bit of a fade around the corner. Then it's a great
04:43chance, par five. But if you over fade it, you're in the trees on the right. And if you do what Neil
04:48has just done, you hold onto it and you're up that bank on the left where the rough is pretty impenetrable.
04:53Right, don't go left. Oh, my goodness. Is that an action replay of the first one? Deja vu time?
05:02Are you joking? I think it probably is.
05:10OK, so we reached a critical phase in the round here. Jez has driven into the water
05:14and he's now got a very difficult pitch over that water to the green. It could be a cricket score
05:19if he gets this wrong. Hang on a second. Hang on a second. That's pretty close.
05:26He could even escape here with a par.
05:31What is the point?
05:36Well, there you have it. That's our look at ten of the most demoralising shots in golf.
05:40If you've liked the video, hit the like button. But also, have we missed anything?
05:44Is there a more demoralising shot that we've not somehow included?
05:47We'd love to hear your thoughts.
05:49But that's it for now. Thanks for watching. We'll see you next time.
