00:00Here's a tyrant that wants to toast to the liquid of life.
00:03Here's a look at the Mattel Matthew vs. Origins, Geldor, Evil Seeker of Immortality.
00:24Geldor first appeared in the mini-comics in 1984,
00:27deeply obsessed with obtaining the secret liquid of life,
00:30a substance that could reveal the secrets of immortality
00:33and make the person consume it even more powerful than He-Man.
00:36Now you can add him to your display forever
00:38with his first ever appearance in the Origins line.
00:41I wonder if he thinks the mohawk makes him look younger.
00:43I thought a mohawk would make me look younger.
00:45Instead, it made me look like a fool.
00:47Not to say that everybody who rocks the look of a mohawk is instantly a fool.
00:50There's some people that would pity fools that feel that way.
00:53Let's instead, though, take the tape measure
00:54and see how tall the Master Universe Origins Geldor stands.
00:57Now, this is a figure, by the way, I've waited a while.
00:59He's sat on a burner.
01:00I never really had a need to pick them up right away.
01:03But though, Mattel Creations...
01:05I know I was about to take a tape measure.
01:07Mattel Creations had this figure selling for $20.
01:10If you do sign up, though, for the subscription service over there,
01:13they also email you over a coupon code that I think you can save like 10%.
01:16So what I ended up doing was I ordered a whole bunch of stuff from Mattel Creations.
01:20I added on Geldor, and it saved me 10% of my total cost.
01:24So I ended up saving a little bit of extra money.
01:26If not for that, this guy probably could have sat on the burner a little bit longer.
01:29With that being said, finally, though, let's take the tape measure.
01:31What took this guy so long?
01:33Up to the mohawk, you're looking at a figure standing about 5 3⁄4 of an inch in height.
01:37Or the Seeker of Immortality stands at 14 centimeters tall.
01:41Someone who successfully rocks a mohawk, though.
01:43Here's what the figure looks like with the WWE Universe, Mr. T.
01:47Mr. T over the years has even increased in price.
01:49I think the guy's going for some stupid money online.
01:52I luckily, though, found this guy at a pretty decent price.
01:54I'm glad to have T as part of my collection.
01:56Yeah, he's going to display...
01:57I don't know if I would display him necessarily with Geldor.
01:59That's a lot of mohawks in one small occupied space.
02:02But he does look nice, though, with T.
02:04Here's also what the figure, of course, looks like with He-Man.
02:07And seeing as we're all talking also about exclusives,
02:10here's what the figure looks like with Demoman.
02:12Running through the accessories that come and clue with Geldor.
02:14First, the figure does have a mini-comic.
02:16I would think it'd be safe to say that the comic is going to be exclusive only to Geldor,
02:20and it's the only time you're ever going to be able to get this.
02:21If you are one that's seeker of mini-comics,
02:24you may need to pick yourself up Geldor to get the one entitled Plague of the Immortal.
02:29As you can see, there's He-Man and Geldor featured on the front.
02:31I don't know what it is, though, about this comic.
02:33If I flip through the pages, some of the art styling in this,
02:36these have either been hit or miss.
02:38The ones that have been misses, though, I don't know about He-Man.
02:41He always seems to be drawn really terrible.
02:43There's Geldor off, though, to the side.
02:44There's also Mossman featured in there as well.
02:47There almost seems to be a character that looks like the Shredder.
02:49I don't think it's Shredder, though.
02:51He's also sporting, of course, his axe.
02:53That's one of the included accessories.
02:54There is no advertisements on the back, though, of the comic,
02:58so there's nothing to tease you at all of other figures you can pick up.
03:01Geldor was released in 2024, as indicated down below in the mini-comic.
03:052024.
03:07There you go.
03:08Let's move that off, though, to the side.
03:09Geldor gets a lot of hand-me-downs.
03:11Some of the accessories that you're going to be seeing right now.
03:13I think there's one that is exclusive to him.
03:16My memory isn't as what it used to be,
03:17so certainly if that isn't the case,
03:19you can let me know down below frantically.
03:21Type frantically down below in the comments if that isn't the case.
03:24What seems already to be hand-me-downs is the fact
03:26he comes to clear with his battle shield
03:27that was already packed along with He-Man.
03:29You already know by now what He-Man's shield would look like.
03:32It would have now these orange little areas here.
03:34Geldor doesn't get any of that.
03:35He basically just gets every casting of this
03:37in kind of a more muted silver.
03:38The thing, unfortunately, about this shield is
03:41while it's designed fine for He-Man,
03:42it isn't really designed the best for Geldor.
03:45Choose either one of the hands.
03:46It's not that it really necessarily matters.
03:47He has these gauntlets on his forearms.
03:50Try your best as you may.
03:51If you try to get him to hold the shield,
03:53so obviously we know how shields work,
03:55just basically have him gripping it in one hand,
03:57and then if you try to snap this around his forearm,
04:00the forearm guards here,
04:01the bracelets that he actually has here,
04:04makes things very difficult for him to hold the shield.
04:06My only other concern, too, is I would worry
04:08that that's going to start to scrape the paint.
04:10I know I'm all about scraping paint worries,
04:12but, you know, again, like, it just seems like something
04:14that's so, like, if to have to fight the shield
04:16every single time, it just seems like it's something
04:18that's going to really damage the figure's paint over time.
04:21Instead, I think I'm going to leave this
04:23for another figure instead, but that'd be fair, though.
04:25Geldor has more than enough accessories at his disposal.
04:28Having him not without a shield
04:29is not going to disappoint me at all.
04:31Another thing that's handed down here as well
04:33is the figure does come in clue with two pairs of battle axes.
04:35Well, I guess it would be one pair.
04:37The axes themselves do come together.
04:38These were the same axes that we did get, in fact,
04:40with the deluxe treatment of Ram Man.
04:42Now, you can either have him just wielding them individually
04:44if you prefer,
04:46or if you look at bottom of axe number one,
04:49you can see there's a hole,
04:50and on axe number two, there's a slotted, well, a stem.
04:53You connect the two together,
04:54and now he's got this really...
04:56I can't even imagine how practical this thing would be.
04:58I mean, an axe already.
04:59I've picked up a few battle axes in my day,
05:02and the axes themselves were quite heavy.
05:04Now, having both of these together like this,
05:07is his expected goal to have this spinning around?
05:10I don't think that's going to work at all.
05:11Of course, you can also fit this in the figure's hands.
05:14Because it's more now, as a staff,
05:16it is less like axes.
05:18You're going to want to make sure
05:19it's kind of either on an angle like that,
05:21or obviously, if you're going to have him holding it,
05:22it's going to look more like it's essentially
05:24just two axes attached together.
05:26Come on!
05:28One last thing the figure does also come included with,
05:30and I think this is unique to him.
05:32It could be very quite possible
05:35that the figure has had,
05:36or a figure has had this axe before.
05:38I don't recognize it.
05:40Just again, like chalk it up to my old man memory,
05:42but if you do recognize this axe,
05:44let me know down below what it is
05:45and where it came from.
05:46This is my favorite, though,
05:47of all the accessories the figure does come included with.
05:50He does also have...
05:50Now, I think you're probably asking yourself,
05:52well, wait a minute.
05:52He's certainly got a lot of weapons to wield.
05:54He has no...
05:56I mean, there's no way you can have him displayed with everything.
05:58Technically, yeah, you can.
06:00If you attach the two axes together,
06:01as I did right over here,
06:02and you have the figure already with this axe,
06:04if you, of course, attach the shield on his arm,
06:06there's a slot on the back of the figure's body.
06:09You can take yourself the extra axe.
06:10I find it works the best with this axe
06:12because of the narrow nature of the handle,
06:14and that just easily fits on the back of his body.
06:16So he has stored space, really,
06:17technically for everything.
06:20In the end, though,
06:20I'm probably just going to have the figure displayed with that axe,
06:22and, I don't know,
06:23maybe I'll have him displayed with this axe.
06:25It doesn't really matter.
06:26If you do pick up this figure for yourself,
06:28you can choose exactly for yourself
06:30how you want to have the figure displayed.
06:32Looking, though, closely at Geldor.
06:34Now, I did mention at the beginning of this review,
06:36this guy is actually based on
06:36the mini-comics appearance from 1984.
06:39This guy was heavily, heavily obsessed
06:40with acquiring the secret liquid of life.
06:43It was basically a substance
06:44that could reveal the secrets of immortality
06:46and, in fact, also make him more powerful
06:48than even He-Man himself.
06:50Now, that's a pretty interesting thing to acquire.
06:52I'm sure anybody, then,
06:53who acquired the liquid of life
06:54could have basically these same abilities.
06:56Now, one thing that's really interesting
06:58about the figure, though,
06:58is he has unique armor
07:00that we haven't seen before.
07:01I don't think, in fact,
07:02we've ever gotten this armor before.
07:04It snaps on, obviously,
07:05on the back of his body, too.
07:06So if you want to detach these,
07:07just detach them from the pegs provided.
07:10You just remove this underneath.
07:11Essentially, what you basically
07:12only be getting underneath
07:13is just a regular He-Man stock body.
07:15Skirting on the front
07:16looks very much similar to Skeletor.
07:18Again, like, I really like the look
07:19of the Crimson Red
07:20that they've used for his body.
07:22It's not quite all the same color.
07:23You'll see, like, for example,
07:24his hands match the colors
07:25of his loincloth,
07:26but they're not obviously
07:27the same reds they use for his armor.
07:29It's a nice-looking figure, though.
07:30The head sculpt is quite good.
07:32You know, I look at this,
07:33and it reminds me of actually,
07:34what is it, from Orange Choppers?
07:36Orange Choppers, Senior.
07:38Paul Senior.
07:38Paul Senior.
07:39I was drawing a blank right there.
07:40Kind of reminds me of Paul Senior
07:41if Paul Senior decided
07:42to have himself a mohawk.
07:44It's a look that rocks well with him.
07:46Again, I've tried it myself.
07:47It didn't look so good for me.
07:49The head sculpt, I think,
07:49is really good.
07:50I mean, again,
07:50it's a brand-new tooled piece here,
07:52so we haven't gotten
07:52this head sculpt before.
07:54Nor likely, I would imagine,
07:55we're probably going to be
07:55getting this again.
07:56Kind of also looks a little bit
07:57like Hulk Hogan.
07:59Hulk Hogan, obviously,
08:00with a mohawk.
08:00It's funny, also,
08:01I'm saying Hulk Hogan
08:02because Hulk Hogan
08:02also teamed up with T
08:03for, was it WrestleMania 2?
08:05WrestleMania 2.
08:06Paul Orndorff,
08:07and Roddy Rowdy Piper.
08:10Anyways, though,
08:10the figure itself
08:11for the articulation on him
08:12is pretty much going to be stock,
08:13and what you would expect,
08:15you'll also be getting here
08:16as well with Geldor.
08:16The head's going to be
08:17on our balls, right?
08:17So it allows the head
08:18to rotate all the way around.
08:20The head's going to look down
08:20and up,
08:21and all the things in between.
08:23He does also have
08:23a waist swivel.
08:24Standard articulation levels here.
08:26The one thing that he has
08:27more limitations for
08:28is that you can obviously
08:29rotate his arms forward and back.
08:31Bringing the arms, though,
08:32all the way around
08:33just isn't going to cut it
08:34because he has now
08:35the armor on his shoulders.
08:36Still, you can pull off, though,
08:37a T pose on Geldor.
08:38No issues there at all.
08:40He has no swivel in his bicep.
08:41Goes with the territory.
08:42However, though,
08:43he has swivels in his forearms.
08:45Has a hinge there also as well.
08:46You can see right there.
08:47You can see right there.
08:48You can see right there.
08:49A hinge in his elbow
08:50that allows his arm to bend.
08:51His hands do also rotate
08:52all the way around
08:53and hinge back and forth.
08:54His legs do split out.
08:56Forward and back motion they go.
08:58There's a little bit
08:59of a swivel at the top.
08:59Not by much, though.
09:00Single hinge in the knee.
09:02Lower leg rotation.
09:03Hinge up and down on the ankle
09:04and an ankle rocker as well.
09:07Seeing as, again,
09:07we only have, I think,
09:08only two characters
09:09in this entire
09:10Mattel Master Universe Origins line
09:12that actually do have Mohawks,
09:14what would it be
09:14if I didn't have the chance
09:15to bring in Mr. T?
09:16I mean, how often
09:17in any other review
09:18would I have an opportunity
09:19to bring in Mr. T?
09:21Two guys rocking Mohawks
09:22rather a lot nicer
09:23than the guy behind the camera
09:25who tried to rock a Mohawk once.
09:27And once was all the time
09:28I needed to take to do that.
09:29As a figure, though,
09:30Geldor's not bad.
09:32I mean, if you are one
09:33that really likes
09:33to get those deep-cut characters,
09:35Geldor certainly would be one
09:36that you'd want to get
09:37because, again,
09:37he's based on a 1984 mini-comic.
09:39It's the first,
09:40and I don't think
09:41the Mattel Master Universe
09:42classics ever did do a Geldor.
09:44Maybe they did,
09:45but obviously
09:45way too expensive now
09:47to try to track one down.
09:48This guy goes for $20
09:49right now
09:50in Mattel Creations' site.
09:51Oh, ready?
09:51That's a pretty decent price.
09:53If you are one
09:53that had kind of been
09:55balancing on the idea
09:56of wanting to subscribe
09:56to the Mattel Creations website,
09:58just think this also as well.
10:00It's $9.99
10:00for the membership subscription.
10:02Just sign on board for that.
10:04It also gives you as well
10:05the perks of getting
10:05all the other figures
10:06we've been kind of looking at
10:07over this week.
10:08So like, for example,
10:09He, He, He,
10:10He, Man,
10:11not He, Man,
10:11Hero.
10:12Hero was one of the figures
10:14obviously that we've already
10:15had a look at.
10:16He can only really be picked up
10:17if you get yourself
10:18the subscription service
10:19for the $9.99.
10:20And one thing too is
10:21if you sign up for that,
10:23you get yourself as well
10:24a coupon
10:25that gets emailed over to you.
10:26And that coupon
10:27can also save you,
10:28I think it was like 10,
10:28maybe it was 15.
10:29No, I feel like
10:30it was only 10%.
10:3110% still allows me
10:32to get myself
10:33a cheaper looking Geldor.
10:35And maybe it was the nudge
10:36that I needed
10:36in the right direction
10:37to finally add this figure
10:38to my collection.
10:39If you don't think of yourself
10:40as a deep cut collector,
10:41then perhaps maybe Geldor
10:43would be a pass for you.
10:44I would say for at least
10:45my own experiences
10:46of whether I wanted
10:47to pick this figure up or not
10:48had a lot more to do
10:49with the fact of
10:49what he was selling for.
10:51I've seen at times
10:52Geldor selling on Facebook groups
10:53for $30 to $40.
10:54That was no go for me.
10:55There was no way
10:56I was going to spend
10:56that kind of money
10:57to pick up a Geldor
10:58that again for me,
11:00even though he did appear
11:01in a very early mini comic,
11:02not enough for me
11:03to want to pick up
11:04the figure for that price.
11:05However though,
11:06the fact that he was selling
11:07for the price that he did
11:08at Mattel Creations
11:09and then on top of that,
11:11the caveat was
11:11I had myself also a coupon.
11:13The coupon saved
11:14a little bit of money.
11:15That was again,
11:15what I needed to know
11:16in order to pick up Geldor
11:17and add him to my shelf.
11:18In the end,
11:18am I disappointed
11:19that I got a figure like this?
11:20Not at all.
11:21In fact,
11:22just even to be
11:23a background character,
11:24even if I didn't know
11:25who he was,
11:25he has an interesting
11:26enough look to him.
11:28So I would say
11:28he's recommended
11:30if you can find him
11:31for a good price.
11:32If he's going only
11:33for stupid money though,
11:34I think it's a figure
11:35that you probably
11:35could wait the while for.
11:37Sit on the bench,
11:38just wait it out
11:38and eventually
11:39if Geldor does get
11:40marked down in price,
11:41pick him up
11:42because I think
11:42he's a fun figure
11:43to have in your collection.
11:44In the end though,
11:45again,
11:45he gets a lot of
11:46hand-me-downs.
11:46I've got him
11:48displayed right now
11:48with three axes.
11:49Still,
11:50again,
11:50that's rather excessive.
11:52Three axes,
11:52I think one axe
11:53would be more than enough.
11:54The one axe,
11:55if I had to choose
11:56of the three,
11:56I probably would go
11:57with the one
11:57that's a little bit
11:58more boxier.
11:59It actually looks
12:00like Batman's emblem
12:01in the new
12:01Batman mini comic run.
12:03What was the deal
12:04with that?
12:04But again,
12:05if you guys are interested,
12:06again,
12:07like Mattel Creations,
12:08not that it's a plug
12:08to Mattel Creations,
12:09but they have right now
12:10the figure in stock.
12:11The likelihood though
12:12of the very limited
12:13mini comic run
12:14appearance of Geldor
12:15selling out on Mattel Creations
12:17even at $20,
12:18it's probably not
12:19going to happen.
12:20So,
12:20you know,
12:21not that I would say
12:21like waited out
12:22on the bench
12:22to wait to see
12:23if this guy
12:24goes down in price.
12:25I think you probably
12:25could wait for a while
12:26and this guy
12:27would still be available
12:28when the time comes
12:28that you want to add
12:29this guy to your
12:29shopping cart.
12:30What do you guys
12:31think of Geldor though?
12:32Let me know down below
12:32in the comments section.
12:33Does he look like
12:34Paul Sr.
12:34from Orange Choppers?
12:36Whatever happened
12:37to that show?
12:37I loved watching
