00:00hello everyone i went to see a working man on the weekend and that's a jason statham movie
00:07now last year the same director that directed a working man directed the beekeeper but he didn't
00:14write the beekeeper movie but he this time he wrote it directed and had the same star in it
00:21but was it any good i was hoping for a really good movie now the beekeeper is actually going
00:29to get a sequel i hope it's going to be from the same director and i kind of hope the director
00:34kind of writes it as well because last time he didn't write it and i think he really wanted to
00:40do different things with it you can kind of tell um i always say to myself if there's more than one
00:47writer they have conflicts between each other on how the movie should go maybe that's why some
00:53movies don't get done they're talked about and never done who knows but was the working man
00:59any good is this now going to be a sequel well they led up to a sequel for sure and i think they
01:05have plans possibly but did it make any money on the weekend i don't think it didn't get the ratings
01:12as the beekeeper did the beekeeper got a lot better ratings than this one did this one right now only
01:20has 50 rotten tomatoes and a 6.1 on imbd now those numbers can go up and down because a working man
01:29is you know it's a fairly new movie a jason stenthon movie it might go up in a couple weeks or it might
01:36go down but people are mixed on it when i went in there i was the only one in the theater and i was a
01:45bit surprised but i like being the only one in the theater afternoon movies are always the best time to go
01:50because there's not a lot of people there definitely not a lot of people there i couldn't
01:55ask anybody if they liked it after i leave so i sat down my popcorn my twizzlers and my coke
02:01because i felt like twizzlers this time so the movie starts and it starts off well it really starts
02:10off well he's a working man he does construction he's a supervisor he works for a family that has a
02:18daughter now he has a daughter himself a younger daughter and he had some issues because the person
02:28who's looking after his daughter right now doesn't want him to visit his daughter at all and his daughter
02:35really loves him and he really loves her and he doesn't have the money to fight him but he's getting it
02:42he's doing what he can to fight it to keep custody or keep seeing her so he goes and sees her and picks
02:50her up gets her in the truck and has a really bad conversation with the person taking care of her
02:57flat out does not like him i'm not going to get into the reasons why that is but it is a good storyline
03:04about him and his past because he's a black ops operative and he wants to do away with that he
03:12doesn't want to go back to that at all in any way now what happens at the work site all of a sudden
03:19some men are picking on one of the workers he goes in and he kicks their butts he and it's a great
03:26action sequences so i'm thinking okay right away this movie's going to be like taken die hard this is
03:32going to be really good because now these people don't like him kicking his ass and they're going
03:37to get their you know their other men to come in and do something with his and his daughter no that's
03:44not what happened so what actually happened in it was the construction workers had a family
03:51and their daughter got kidnapped and they ask him they know who he is from his past they ask him to go
03:59and get her and this is where it got kind of bland for me that kind of really upset me in a lot of
04:07ways now this is from the same director who brought us the beekeeper i might have said that already but
04:13this time he also wrote this movie as well i i didn't like the fact that he kind of wavered on that
04:22you know i felt that he had he struggled with that so he didn't start looking for her for like
04:28almost a day so when someone gets kidnapped within 48 hours it's crucial to find the person
04:36so that kind of didn't fit right with me and then even some of the villains their dialogue was all cursing
04:44and swearing and i don't really like that too much unless it's done better than this was
04:50and one of the villains looked like craven the hunted now the acting was good but the middle
04:56part kind of lagged with me i'm thinking you could have took out a good 20 minutes of this film
05:01that but the ending was really good but some of the costumes like man like one guy looked like he was a
05:09disco guy right it actually could have been a woman um a disco woman or a disco guy the costumes just
05:15looked like movies from the 70s and the 80s it kind of felt all over the place on how the costumes
05:22were the costumes look good i just didn't think it suited the movie right that's all i didn't think
05:29it had that feel that i wanted from a jason stenthon movie now he's a hit and miss with me anyway and i might
05:37have said that earlier as well but i didn't i walked out not knowing what to feel about this movie
05:44and i wasn't the only one it's 50 rotten tomatoes i'm sure i've already said that too
05:50and a 6.1 out of 10 on imbd but those numbers can go up and down all the time
05:56now it did conclude in a really great way but i really thought this would be like a taken movie
06:03i really did and i was really hoping for more especially from the beekeeper to this and i was
06:11like from the same director and this time he wrote it i was like i hope if they do make a sequel to a
06:16working man that it's much better than the first one i don't hate it i don't love it my rating for this
06:25would simply be
06:26i would probably give it a 5.5 out of 10
06:33a 5.5 out of 10 i can't give it higher the acting is good the beginning is really good
06:39the ending is good the middle is what lagged
06:42um that's when i decide to pull out my twizzlers
06:45and start eating that candy because it just i
06:49it just lagged all right everyone that's my review
06:53on a working man um yeah uh i hope they do make a sequel i hope this makes enough money and
07:01gets enough people going to want to see a sequel that would be kind of cool back in the day sometimes
07:07uh you might not have known this but back in the day when sequels were made some of them didn't go
07:13to theater they just went right to rental so maybe a working man might might just go right to the
07:19streaming site all right everyone bye for now but beekeeper they are making a sequel to that before
