00:00Do you think the team's at the best when they get it down and play?
00:02I think at Sunderland you play some great stuff, whereas opposition managers, when they're asked about Preston,
00:07always say physical, aggressive, think that's a bit of a lazy analysis.
00:11No, I think you could be good on the ball and aggressive as well.
00:14I think we've showed in all the games we've been best at, we've been really aggressive in our pressure,
00:21going high, almost playing man for man all over the pitch, telling the defenders to really get in
00:28and follow the 10s and the strikers. So we have been an aggressive team and we have some big defenders
00:35and I think when we are the best is when we play football. I think two days ago we showed it again
00:43when the pitch is somewhat decent again, that we can actually play really good football.
00:50And I think the biggest thing we have to take away is just need to do it for 90 minutes.
00:55We don't, like there's no need when we're on top of teams playing well, no need to for 10 minutes in each half
01:01to give them like some sense of they're going to be able to go attack us and putting pressure into our box.
01:08Because we're good enough to make people suffer and we just keep believing from the defenders,
01:14goalkeepers all the way up to us offensive players to just keep believing,
01:19stay on top of the ball and keep playing.
01:21Which underlying stats of yours are you pleased with? Because you're right, people won't look at that stuff.
01:27I think I've created a few chances like passes to shots and again, physical-wise,
01:33I'm on top in most stats, at least at Preston, when it comes to all the high intensity and stuff and all that.
01:40So, yeah, all that seems to be good.
01:44When it comes to goalscoring, do you think you just need to shoot more?
01:46You don't seem to, I can't think of any chances you've missed.
01:50Nah, that's the thing I'm telling myself when people say shoot more.
01:53I'm like, I can't remember which situation I should be shooting more in.
01:57So I think scoring goals and getting assists is not random, but it's about being in the right
02:07place at the right time and I think I've gotten myself into more good opportunities this season,
02:12where the ball not always has arrived and when the ball has arrived I've not been able to get there.
02:19But again, you only score if you shoot, so I need to shoot more as well.
02:23Is quality into the box big for you? Because your goal at Middlesbrough, there's no reason
02:27why I can't have more of you.
02:28Yeah, I know. So, yeah, it's just, I think the gap I've been speaking a lot to me about,
02:34just keep getting in the box all the time. I think I'm getting there more and more,
02:38and then it's just, at some point hopefully, boy, the ball will arrive again, so I can have a shot or go.
02:46How important is it that people are ahead of you, because you said you like playing through balls and stuff?
02:51Nah, I think it shows every game. Like, the best games I have, I have willing runners in front of me.
02:57I think two of the chances I created the last game was through Millie, running forward.
03:02So, yeah, I like a through ball, especially on the ground, so I need willing runs, and when they
03:10don't run, I need to be more calm.
03:13Have you missed Liam Miller a bit? You said you loved your partnership with him last season.
03:17Have you found that with someone this season, or not really?
03:21It's been different. Liam was more of a dribbler, so it wasn't really because he was
03:25willing running behind us, more into feed. But I think when Robbie plays on the left and I'm on the left,
03:31I think we have a good understanding of each other, like, to bounce it around and play a few one-twos.
03:37And I think it shows, in them games, we create a lot of things going down the left.
03:43So, but I think, as I said, this season we've been much better on the ball, so we've just been enjoying
03:48playing and actually having the ball for a bit more than compared to last season, at least.
03:55Do you think some dribblers would make a difference? The managers have been quite open
03:58that this summer we'd like to get some 1v1 players.
04:01Yeah, again, like, we haven't been good enough in front of goal and on the last third, so we need
04:08more offensive players. Probably a few 1v1 players, but also, again, people who can hold, like, the
04:16hold-up play, yeah, all the defenders play a 1v2 for us tens of midfielders to play a 1v2 and get off
04:24a shot around the edge of the box. So, yeah, just, I think it'll be good with a few more different
04:32kind of players. It's always good when you have a mix of, yeah, many, many players, so it's not always the same.
04:39Next season, would you love to be just right pushing at the top of the division? Your third season in
04:44England, you'll have come off really, really ambitious.
04:46Yeah, I think it's stupid to say anything else. Like, I think nobody's content by just being mediocre for
04:54it. So, I hope, like, the whole dressing room and the club want to try and at least give it a go.
05:01There's no need to do something else.
05:03You're a good mate with Stefan out here. He's had a really strong couple of months individually.
05:07Yeah, we speak well. Live close by each other as well. He's been good. Yeah, lately, last year
05:16game, he's been able to get a bit more in the box as well, which seems to suit him. So, yeah, he's a good player.
