00:00Which European regions have the highest hospital concentration?
00:09The European Union has a good concentration of hospitals.
00:13More than 83% of the population lives within a 15-minute drive of the nearest medical facility.
00:21However, some places are not that lucky.
00:25In 97 EU administrations, over 50% of residents need to take longer journeys to access healthcare.
00:34Most of these departments, 21, are in Romania, 15 are in Greece, 9 in both Croatia and Spain, 8 in Poland and 6 each in Ireland, Portugal and Slovenia.
00:49And, in a small group of 7 provinces, only 10% of patients live within a 15-minute drive, 4 of them are in Greece and 3 in Romania.
01:01At the other end of the spectrum, there are 124 administrations where 100% of the population lives within that 15-minute range.
01:1377% of those are in Germany, mostly in the western and southern parts of the country.
01:21Neighboring Belgium and the Netherlands follow with 6 provinces each, trailed by France and Greece with 4.
