00:00Hey, meet Mark Silver.
00:02He's a famous space detective who flies around galaxies figuring out the toughest cosmic
00:07crimes.
00:08Today, you're on a mission to help him.
00:11A rare artifact was stolen from a base on Mars.
00:14Mark is on the case, and he has three suspects.
00:18All of them claim they've never been to Mars.
00:21Look at them attentively and try to figure out who might be the criminal.
00:33Look at the man.
00:34The soles of his boots are dusted with red.
00:37And Mars is often called the red planet because of the color of its soil.
00:41So the man must have lied about never having visited Mars.
00:49Mark is sent on a mission to a planet where all the inhabitants look different.
00:54When a group of locals meets him at a spaceport, he realizes that one of them is an imposter.
01:00Who is it?
01:11It's this creature with eight arms and tentacles instead of legs.
01:14See that zipper on the left side?
01:16It must be someone else, maybe even a human, wearing a costume to disguise itself as a local.
01:24Maria, an astronaut's wife, has come to Mark because she thinks her husband is lying to her.
01:31A week ago, he told her he would fly to Jupiter to deliver rose petals to a local community.
01:37He even sent her a few photos when he arrived there.
01:40And Maria has some doubts.
01:43After examining the photos, Mark confirms the girl's suspicions.
01:46Her husband isn't on Jupiter.
01:48How did he understand it?
02:02Look at these rings behind Maria's husband's back.
02:05Only one planet in our solar system has such large, prominent rings.
02:09And that's not Jupiter, but Saturn.
02:14Once Mark was piloting a spacecraft.
02:16Yeah, he can do that too.
02:17When he realized he was running out of fuel.
02:21He checked the nearest planets where he could get some fuel.
02:24The first one was freezing cold.
02:25The temperatures were insanely low.
02:28The second was boiling hot.
02:30So hot that even metals would melt there.
02:32And the third planet was super acidic.
02:35Which is the safest option to get some fuel?
02:47Mark should opt for the first planet.
02:49He'll be inside his spacecraft, so the cold won't harm him.
02:53As for extremely high temperatures and acids, well, they can easily damage his spaceship.
03:00The leader of a mission on a distant planet asked Mark to come and help him figure out
03:04one tricky case.
03:06He has three newcomers, and he suspects that one of them is an imposter and hasn't come
03:11from Earth.
03:13Can you help Mark understand which astronaut isn't human?
03:25The man in the middle might look like a human, but he isn't wearing a helmet.
03:29That means he's not from Earth.
03:31But that's not all.
03:32Look at the woman on the right.
03:34Her oxygen tank isn't connected to her helmet.
03:37She isn't human either.
03:40Mark arrived at the moon because someone had been stealing astronauts' belongings from
03:44a lunar base on the far side of the satellite.
03:49After investigating the case, Mark ended up with three suspects.
03:53Julia told him she had been working in the lab all the time.
03:57Hannah told him she had seen someone's footprints circling around the base.
04:02But later they had disappeared.
04:03The wind must have covered them with sand.
04:06And Lucas explained he had been busy with software repair.
04:10Who is the criminal?
04:17Well, the moon has no atmosphere.
04:23That's why there's no air or wind that could lead to erosion.
04:26That's why footprints couldn't have vanished.
04:29So Hannah is lying.
04:32Astronaut Kenny was on a spacewalk when he found out that his safety tether wasn't connected
04:39to the spacecraft.
04:41Luckily, Kenny managed to survive and get back to the ship.
04:45There he contacted Mark Silver, claiming that it was his crew member Margaret who had disconnected
04:50the tether.
04:52When Mark arrived, he questioned Margaret.
04:55But she denied her involvement.
04:56She even claimed that she heard Kenny's cries and rushed to save him.
05:01Mark didn't believe her and detained her right away.
05:09Why?
05:14Space is silent since there's no air or atmosphere to carry sound waves.
05:19Even if Kenny had been shouting, no one would have heard him.
05:24Space pirates once captured Mark and locked him in a cargo compartment.
05:29The door has a password lock.
05:31To get out, Mark needs to remember what the biggest planet in the solar system is.
05:36He has three choices.
05:38Saturn with its rings, gas giant Jupiter, and ice giant Neptune.
05:43Could you help him choose?
05:54While Jupiter is the biggest planet in the solar system.
05:57In fact, it's so big, it has more mass than all the other planets combined.
06:04Mark's friends came back from vacation and started sharing their experiences.
06:09Pete said that he had climbed an ultra-tall volcano on Mars.
06:13Daniel was happy that he had seen the great red spot on Jupiter.
06:18And Thomas was super excited because he had managed to swim in a lake on Saturn's largest
06:22moon, Titan.
06:24Mark understood right away that one of his friends was lying.
06:28Who was it?
06:37It was Thomas.
06:40Even though Titan has lakes on its surface, they're filled with methane.
06:44You can't swim in them.
06:47Look at this picture attentively and help Detective Silver figure out what's wrong with it.
07:01This landscape definitely looks like the surface of the moon.
07:04But then, what is there in the sky?
07:07One space body is obviously Earth, but the other looks like another moon.
07:14One day, an insurance agent visited Mark Silver.
07:18She was almost sure that one of her clients wanted to commit insurance fraud.
07:22Apparently, he claimed that his spaceship was pulled into a white hole while he managed to
07:27escape using an emergency pod.
07:30Detective Silver agreed to help the agent, since he immediately realized why the claim
07:35was fake.
07:36Have you figured it out yet?
07:43Well, it's black holes that swallow everything that comes too close.
07:51At the same time, white holes expel matter and energy.
07:55So a white hole wouldn't be able to pull inside a spaceship or any other object.
08:01One day, Mark was on vacation on a distant planet in a faraway galaxy.
08:06He was floating in a glass pod over a sea of blue lava when he spotted an object in the
08:11sky.
08:12It was getting bigger and bigger.
08:14Mark had three ideas about what it could be.
08:17A comet, a black hole, or a rogue planet.
08:21Would you help him figure out what this space intruder is?
08:29Well, it can't be a comet, since comets have long tails.
08:37It's also unlikely to be a black hole, since they are invisible to the unaided eye.
08:41So, it's probably a rogue planet, once kicked out of its home system, and now wandering
08:47the universe.
08:49Mark was visiting his friend on his spaceship, and accidentally locked himself in his room.
08:54To get out of it, he needs to solve a riddle.
08:57There are several buttons near the door, each of them has a planet on it.
09:02Mark needs to press the button with the planet that is unique.
09:05Do you know which one it is?
09:16Mark needs to press the button depicting Uranus.
09:19It's the only planet that spins on its side.
09:23Now, Mark wants you to crack a few riddles on your own.
09:29Look at this picture.
09:30This girl has just landed on the moon.
09:32Can you spot two weird things that make this adventure seem fake?
09:41First, the girl isn't wearing a helmet, but on the moon, it's impossible to breathe
09:49without it.
09:51And secondly, the wind is blowing her hair, but there's no wind on Earth's natural satellite.
09:58Now look at the planets of the solar system, and say if everything is fine with them.
10:02It seems Jupiter and Saturn have switched their places.
10:17And finally, the last general knowledge challenge for you.
10:21Which planet had its status taken away almost two decades ago?
10:25Proxima Centauri b.
10:26Pluto.
10:27Uranus.
10:28Well, it was poor Pluto.
10:30In 2006, it was reclassified into a dwarf planet, after being considered the ninth planet for a
10:45long time.
10:46That's it for today.
10:47So hey, if you pacified your curiosity, then give the video a like and share it with your
