NASA astronaut and Russian crewmates arrive at the International Space Station

US astronaut Jonny Kim and two Russian crewmates took off from the Russia-leased Baikonur facility in Kazakhstan in a Russian Soyuz rocket.

00:00One American and two Russian astronauts launched successfully to the International Space Station
00:08on Tuesday, on board a Russian spacecraft, according to the Roscosmos Space Corporation.
00:15NASA astronaut Johnny Kim and Russia's Sergei Ryzhikov and Alexei Zubritsky took off in
00:22a Soyuz booster rocket from the Russia-leased Baikonur launch facility in Kazakhstan.
00:29They are set to dock at the station the same day and are scheduled to stay for about eight
00:35months.
00:37According to NASA, Kim is set to conduct scientific investigations and technology demonstrations
00:44to help prepare the crew for future space missions and provide benefits to people on
00:49Earth.
00:53Kim and the crew of Russian astronauts will join other astronauts already on the space
00:58arts post.
