Royal Challengers Bengaluru defeated Mumbai Indians by 12 runs in IPL 2025 at the Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai on April 07. Batting first, Royal Challengers Bengaluru suffered early blow as Trent Boult dismissed Phil Salt in the first over. Virat Kohli (67) and Devdutt Padikkal (37) launched a counter-attack and gave a flying start to RCB. After Padikkal's dismissal Rajat Patidar (64) joined Kohli and carried on the momentum. After Hardik Pandya (2/45) dismissed Virat Kohli, it seemed like the Royal Challengers Bengaluru were slowing down but Patidar kept them going and got good support from Jitesh Sharma (40*) at the other end. The duo powered Royal Challengers Bengaluru to a strong total of 221/5. Defending it, Yash Dayal and Josh Hazlewood started strong dismissing Rohit Sharma, Ryan Rickelton and Suryakumar Yadav. Just when the game was looking out of hand for Mumbai Indians, Tilak Varma (56) and Hardik Pandya (42) combined in the middle and some clean ball-striking from them brought Mumbai Indians back into the match. Bhuvneshwar Kumar (1/48), Hazlewood (2/37) and Krunal Pandya (4/45) bowled the last three overs and they restricted Mumbai Indians. This is Royal Challengers Bengaluru's third win of the season and Mumbai Indians' fourth defeat.
