US President Donald Trump has given China one day to end the 34% retaliatory tariffs it imposed on US products last week or he'd slap an extra 50% duty on imports from China.
The Chinese Commerce Ministry said Tuesday (April 8) China will never accept the "blackmail nature" of the United States, and said US threats were a "mistake on top of a mistake".

00:00We have many, many countries that are coming to negotiate deals with us, and they're going
00:07to be fair deals, and in certain cases, they're going to be paying substantial tariffs.
00:13They'll be fair deals.
00:15As you know, I spoke this morning with the Prime Minister of Japan, and we had a very
00:20good conversation.
00:21They're coming.
00:23And I said, one thing, you're going to have to open up your country, because we sold no
00:26cars, like zero cars in Japan, and they sold millions of cars into our country.
00:33They don't really take our agriculture, a little bit of it, just to keep us slightly
00:37happy, but they don't take what they're supposed to be taking.
00:39So we have a great relationship with Japan.
00:42We're going to keep it that way, but they're coming in to meet, and other countries are
00:46coming in.
00:47With China, as you know, against my statement, they put a 34% tariff on above what their
00:55ridiculous tariffs were already.
00:58And I said, if that tariff isn't removed by tomorrow at 12 o'clock, we're putting a 50%
01:04tariff on above the tariffs that we put on.
01:07They're experiencing a lot of hurt, and the hurt is that they've taken advantage of us,
01:12and we finally fought back.
01:15Tariffs will make this country very rich.
01:17We're rich anyway, but we're rich in a certain way.
01:21We have $36 trillion in debt.
01:24I want to get rid of it, and we can do it quickly with proper deals.
01:29So when countries don't allow us to sell our product, but we allow them to sell their product,
01:36when they charge us massive amounts of money for the privilege of going into their country,
01:41those days are over.
