00:00WHERE'S PANDA ROSS? WHERE'S PANDA ROSS?
00:02WHOA! HOLD ON A MINUTE!
00:06Hey, fam! What's up, what's up, what's up?
00:07This is Robert Anton here, robertanton.com,
00:09coming to you with another X-Factor commentary from a singer.
00:13Yes, sir, re-X-Factor continues.
00:15The auditions are happening,
00:17and this was the third night, night three of the auditions,
00:21and we jumped around so much I was confused.
00:23I might mention it throughout because I put in the notes, like, when they changed cities,
00:27but they were going back and forth and back and forth between commercials.
00:29It was kind of confusing because I'm trying to keep up with what cities they are actually auditioning in.
00:35So, yeah, but if you're just watching and just enjoying the auditions,
00:39then you probably don't really care.
00:41Okay, so we started out in L.A. tonight with everyone making their way to the auditions,
00:46you know, they had early morning calls and all that good stuff.
00:49And Paulina Rubio was out because she had a concert,
00:52and only two yeses sends a contestant to boot camp.
00:56But let me tell you, they have done, the judges have been really in lockstep pretty much.
01:00There haven't been many people that, like, it's been like three, four, three yeses and one no,
01:05or anything like that so far,
01:07and I'm waiting for some disagreements to see what happens if it's split like two and two.
01:12Yeah, we'll see what happens then.
01:13Shirley and Cynthia were up first.
01:15They did I Want You Back by the Jackson 5,
01:17and they were so cute, had great energy,
01:20but the vocals were just not there.
01:22Let me tell you,
01:25Simon was laughing at them while the 24-year-old was singing out of tune,
01:29and the 15-year-old was just a little off.
01:31She was a little better, but not by much.
01:35Kelly told the younger one to come back after she gets better,
01:38but not to bring her sister with her.
01:40Ooh, that hurt.
01:44That really hurt, but you know what?
01:46It was true, y'all. It was true.
01:47The dogs was howling while she was singing.
01:49Then Josh Levi came up. He was 14.
01:52He did Come and Get It by Selena Gomez.
01:54What? Are you kidding me?
01:56He started out with some nice little riffs and had a good sound, very youthful.
02:00He was kind of nasal, but a solid R&B sound.
02:03He's young, you know, so he maybe hasn't really gotten that full production going on yet,
02:08but he has a lot of potential.
02:10He also engaged the audience,
02:11and the girls on the panel were all rocking out with him and stuff,
02:14you know, really just vibing.
02:16Demi said it was amazing and adorable.
02:18Kelly told him he's a star and there's nobody like him.
02:20Simon said he chose a song he shouldn't sing,
02:23and he turned it into a version that suited him.
02:26He got three yeses, of course, because Paulina wasn't there,
02:29but you know what? That's a great thing.
02:30He sang a song that not necessarily was fitted to him,
02:34but he didn't try to sing it the way it was sung.
02:36He fit it to his voice, to the way he sounds, to his style.
02:40That is the best thing you do.
02:42Demi called him an artist for that reason.
02:44So Drama Drama was up next.
02:46They did Party in the USA by Miley Cyrus.
02:48They are a group of five girls that want to be like the Spice Girls, right?
02:51They started out a cappella, and they were kind of off, you know,
02:54just kind of off, but especially when they all sang together,
02:57it was just...
02:59It was not the move.
03:02It was not the move.
03:03Simon called them old-fashioned.
03:05Of course, they got no's and were sent packing,
03:07and then we got a lot of, like, a whole reel of people who came.
03:11They were like, the reel was like an old-fashioned, like, film kind of thing,
03:16and they were all people who Simon had called old-fashioned,
03:19said they were out of date and all that good stuff.
03:21Then Acnew came up.
03:22They were between 24 and 28.
03:24They did Valerie by Amy Winehouse,
03:27and Simon said he hated this song before they even started, right?
03:31So I was like, oh, Lord, this is going down here.
03:34I know they were looking at him like,
03:36okay, you know, like, should we change it or what?
03:39But they had some cute choreography when they started,
03:42and the first singer, and he was the lead singer, which was a great thing.
03:46It was a group that had a lead singer.
03:48They didn't try to break up all the parts and stuff like that.
03:50That was a good thing.
03:51He had a really nice voice.
03:53And then the other guys came in with some really pro-harmony.
03:56I mean, it sounded like they were tracked or something.
03:58It really did.
03:59It was so good.
04:00A lot of energy from all of them, and the dance break at the end.
04:04Oh, it was awesome and exciting.
04:07The crowd was going wild, and Kelly said they were refreshing,
04:10and they'd spread their gift throughout the room.
04:13Dewey said she had the chills.
04:15Simon said it was like watching Motown all over again,
04:18and they might be on the forefront of something new.
04:21They got three yeses.
04:22So, make sure to yes me, please, please.
04:24Thumb it up if you enjoyed the commentary.
04:26Keep me engaged.
04:27Let others know that you are engaged,
04:29and, you know, let's get this conversation going.
04:31Make sure to comment down on things that you liked or didn't like
04:34in the comment section and all that good stuff,
04:36and, you know, I'm going to be posting all kinds of other stuff going on,
04:40so just check out my most recent videos playlist when you get a chance.
04:45All right.
04:45Next, we move to Charleston, South Carolina,
04:47and Paulina was back on the panel.
04:50Brandy Love started out.
04:51She was 21.
04:52She did Up to the Mountain by Patti Griffin,
04:53and she was so cute with all the right answers during their grilling.
04:57I wrote their grilling of her because they really were seeing me
04:59answering her a bunch of, like, hard-hitting questions before her audition
05:03and while she was on stage,
05:05and she had a really solid sound when she started singing.
05:07She told Paulina that when she sings, it just comes out country,
05:11and that was certainly true, let me tell you,
05:13but she had a lot of soul in there, too, boy.
05:16I was like, okay, take me to church, girl.
05:18Go head on.
05:19Now, Paulina told her she has the X Factor.
05:21Simon said she took us to church and predicted great things for her.
05:25Kelly said she loved how she got lost in the song,
05:28while Demi said she took her home to Texas.
05:31She got four yeses, naturally.
05:33Then we had some other people who got FaceTime, who went through.
05:37Millie Thrasher did Wide Awake.
05:39Timmy Thames did Lego House.
05:41Yellow House Canyon sang some country song,
05:43and three other acts also went through really quickly,
05:47and they didn't even post their names or anything like that,
05:49so maybe we'll get to see more of them later.
05:51And then we went back to Long Island.
05:53Vinnie Vincent Chris-so-kuh.
05:56Vinnie Vincent Chris-ss-kuh-tuh.
05:59Vinnie Vincent Chris-ss-kuh-tuh.
06:03Chris-suh-kuh.
06:04I'm usually good at pronouncing names,
06:05but I can't get those.
06:06Chris-so-stoh-moh.
06:08Chris-suh-stoh-moh.
06:09Maybe that's it.
06:10Vinnie Vincent Chris-suh-stoh-moh.
06:11He did How Do I Live Without You by LeAnn Rimes,
06:14and he was talking about he was a star,
06:16and he had a bodyguard and all this,
06:17and he looked up to Biggie and Tupac and Method Man,
06:20and I said, okay, he about to rap.
06:22You know, he about to put it down,
06:24and he sang LeAnn Rimes.
06:26What you talking about?
06:28And horribly.
06:28I was feeling for him, because it was so bad.
06:32It was so bad.
06:34It wasn't even funny, y'all.
06:35I thought he was going to be a rapper.
06:37Whatever.
06:38I'm just-okay.
06:40Then Carlos Guevara came up.
06:41He was 16.
06:42He did Gravity by John Mayer,
06:44and he had Tourette's,
06:45and let me tell you,
06:46I was ready to cry when he said that you-
06:49he said one thing.
06:50He said, you know,
06:51but you can't let things hold you back,
06:53and from that,
06:54just pulled my heart strings right there.
06:56Just ripped them out of my chest, y'all.
07:00Oh, Lord.
07:00I was like, okay,
07:02and then they rolled his clip and everything,
07:04you know, and talked about his story,
07:06and he was diagnosed with Tourette's and OCD
07:09and la la la la la.
07:10So, okay, very heartwarming.
07:12Just a very heartwarming story,
07:13and I was like, okay,
07:14I hope this boy can sing.
07:16I hope he can sing.
07:17So, he started to sing,
07:19and I'm probably biased.
07:20I wrote, I'm probably biased,
07:22but I liked everything he did in this audition.
07:25I really did.
07:26He just seemed to be transported.
07:28He was so comfortable on stage.
07:29He had a nice sound and vocal control,
07:32and the girls on the panel all stood for him.
07:33Simon didn't.
07:34I don't know why, but he didn't.
07:36Paulina said he had an amazing voice and great energy.
07:39Jimmy said he has a beautiful soul and is so talented.
07:41Kelly said he took the whole crowd,
07:43and it was magical.
07:45Simon said he liked that he wasn't a victim,
07:48and he actually has a great voice,
07:50which I totally agree.
07:51He got four yeses to go through.
07:53Then we moved to New Orleans.
07:56Oh, we just jumping from city to city.
07:58I wish I, anyway,
07:59Chloe J and CJ did Riverdeep Mountain High by Tina Turner,
08:03and they were so funny
08:04while they were doing their little questions
08:05from the judges and all that good stuff,
08:08and they were talking to him,
08:09and, you know, just so funny,
08:11but they were almost as funny singing, right?
08:13You know,
08:14which was not a good thing.
08:18They should be a comedy team.
08:19I wrote they should be a comedy team
08:20instead of singing, though.
08:22Oh, Lord, but they were funny,
08:24and then the girls, she went down
08:26when they were, like, trying to say,
08:27okay, are we going to say yes or no,
08:28and the three girls said no,
08:29and then she was looking at Simon,
08:30you know, pouting and all that good stuff.
08:32Then she went up to the table
08:33and started kissing him all over the neck,
08:34and the first thing I thought is,
08:36where's Panda Ross?
08:37Where's Panda Ross?
08:38Whoa, hold on a minute.
08:40I know Panda was like,
08:44uh-uh, don't mess with my boy,
08:48and then Simon's like, yes.
08:50He gave him a yes.
08:51Okay, whatever.
08:53It was a funny little episode, right?
08:56It was a funny little segment.
08:57Next, we had Maile Delgado.
08:58She did Because of You by Kelly Clarkson,
09:00and she came all the way from Alaska.
09:02Of course, she was very good, and she went through,
09:04and then they had clips of a lot of people
09:06who traveled a long way,
09:07hundreds of miles to come to audition,
09:10and that was nice.
09:11I think they all went through from the clips that they did.
09:14They were so quick.
09:15They ran through.
09:15They didn't give any names or anything like that.
09:17Then Colton Pack came up.
09:19Colton Pack, another Colton.
09:21He was 18.
09:22He did Hit Town by Jason Aldean,
09:24and he brought a whole bus of people with him
09:26from his small town.
09:27I forget, West Virginia,
09:28and he was solid in his vocal,
09:31and he had a lot of performance swagger.
09:32I wasn't really impressed with his tone,
09:34and it was a little choppy and closed.
09:37The sound was kind of closed off.
09:40I don't know what it was,
09:41but when he did a few of the notes in his lower register,
09:44I was like, oh, now that's kind of nice.
09:45I would like to see more of that.
09:47I really heard some potential there.
09:48Paulina said she loved his presence and growled at him.
09:51Rawr!
09:53Twice, okay?
09:54Demi said it was pitchy,
09:56but there were moments when he was interesting.
09:58Kelly said he had a unique voice,
10:00and she digs him.
10:01Simon said he liked him from the minute he came out
10:04and said they could help him with his vocals.
10:06He got four yeses.
10:07Yeah, he needs some help,
10:09but there is a lot of potential there.
10:10Back to L.A.,
10:12and Simon is late, okay?
10:14Dani Geimer came up.
10:16She was 15.
10:16She did House of the Rising Sun by the Animals,
10:18and she was very quirky,
10:20and they were giving her the weird nerd treatment
10:22and stuff like that,
10:23but you could see she was a very pretty girl.
10:25She had on hat and glasses,
10:26but you could see she was pretty.
10:28Then she opened her mouth,
10:29and the audience went wild.
10:31Let me tell you.
10:31She had a really great tone
10:33and a very grounded performance,
10:34but such a big, powerful voice.
10:37I think she was 15.
10:3915!
10:40And just big.
10:42The girls are killing it this season already.
10:45They are just,
10:48okay, just killing it,
10:49and the audience was on their feet
10:51by the time she finished.
10:52Kelly said she is it.
10:55Demi said she did great,
10:56and she's really impressed.
10:57Paulina said she's really special,
10:59and she got three yeses,
11:00and then we moved on to Denver.
11:02They said Simon is back,
11:03but it was a whole different city,
11:04and I know they didn't only have that one person from L.A.,
11:07so that's one of the things
11:09that I'm just like,
11:10oh, it's jumping around,
11:10and then they're trying to make it seem like
11:12it's just one episode.
11:14Anyway, so we got a lot of bad auditions to open up,
11:17and we were treated to some of Simon's strange critiques.
11:19One of my favorites,
11:20I got to read it for you.
11:21He said to a group of like five people,
11:23you look like you'd be a very good group
11:26if none of you were in it.
11:29It was like...
11:32He's such a catty queen.
11:33Just catty as he can be.
11:35Jeffrey Goot was up last.
11:37He did Don't Wanna Miss a Thing by Aerosmith,
11:40and I remembered him from last year.
11:41Demi was like immediately like remember him,
11:43and I was like he looked familiar, right,
11:45but I wasn't sure.
11:46Soon as they played his audition clip from last year,
11:49I was like I remember him.
11:51He did Hallelujah.
11:52He really had a really good take on the song,
11:55and this really nice rock raspy voice.
11:58I was like yes, yes, yes.
11:59He was cut last season,
12:00and nobody knows why.
12:02I don't remember why.
12:02I'm gonna have to watch my like boot camp thing,
12:04but in boot camp he was cut.
12:05To his audition,
12:06he seemed to be straining a bit on this Aerosmith song to me,
12:10and I was like you could hear that he had a good voice,
12:13but it just wasn't coming out well.
12:16You could see his veins popping and stuff,
12:17and it just wasn't pleasing.
12:19It wasn't nice.
12:20He wasn't kicking, you know,
12:23Hallelujah last year.
12:24He kicked ass, okay?
12:25There's no other way to say it.
12:26He really did.
12:28Simon stopped him and said he was battling with the song,
12:30and the song was winning,
12:32and he said he was trying to sound like Steven Tyler,
12:35and then we went to commercial.
12:36You know whole cliffhanger stuff.
12:38It was the last audition.
12:39We knew that he was gonna get a second chance,
12:41but people I wrote this on Twitter last week about Roxy Montana.
12:46Make your first song your best.
12:50Your absolute best,
12:52okay?
12:52Because you don't always get a second chance,
12:54and they could have just told him,
12:56you know, he came back saying,
12:56oh, I, you know, made it this far and blah blah blah and the other,
12:58and I could have done this and I don't know why,
13:00and I got to do all this and lala lala lala.
13:02And then he didn't give a great audition.
13:04He didn't choose the best song.
13:06Personally, I thought he should have did Hallelujah.
13:08Do the same song over again.
13:09You blew us away with it.
13:10Blow us away again,
13:12and he did not do that.
13:13Of course, he got a second chance after the commercial,
13:16and this was more in his range.
13:17He did Creep by Radiohead.
13:19It sounded really good,
13:20but I really, again, was not impressed.
13:22It did not remind me of Hallelujah at all,
13:25And I was just like, I didn't know which way this was going.
13:29I really didn't.
13:30I didn't know which way it was going to go.
13:32Yeah, so Demi stood for him.
13:34And I wrote, I think it was from memories of last season,
13:36because this just wasn't amazing.
13:38When he went up to the high part, the audience was like,
13:40oh, yeah, yeah, yeah.
13:41But it was just lacking for me.
13:44Simon said he's picked up some bad habits on his gigs and
13:47mentioned his mispronunciation of vowels and words or
13:51something like that, but said it was sensational when he
13:54hit the high parts.
13:55Kelly called him incredible.
13:57Demi said his kind of talent is missing in the rock market.
14:00And he got four yeses.
14:01What did you guys think of the auditions tonight?
14:03Are there any people that are standing out to you so far?
14:06Do you have any favorites so far?
14:07I have actually started a playlist for Eidos Music, who
14:11posts some of the performances.
14:13He posts clips from the performances on his channel.
14:16And we're kind of doing a little trade thing with the
14:19playlist, so I made a playlist for him.
14:21And every week, what I am going to do is I am going to
14:25put in that playlist my favorite people from that
14:29night or from that week, my favorite auditions.
14:32So you can go and just check that out on my page, on my
14:36whatever, on my main page.
14:38I'm rambling now, OK?
14:39And this is going to be long to begin with.
14:41But if you're still here, hopefully you love me.
14:43Hopefully you're going to make sure to thumb this up to
14:45forward it to friends and stuff like that, and put it on
14:48Facebook and Twitter and all that good stuff.
14:50I'm also posting a bunch of other videos
14:52on all of my channels.
14:53So check out my most recent videos playlist.
14:55I should have some links down here in the description box.
14:59But also, you know, whatever.
15:02I'll probably do some stuff here.
15:03Thank you guys so much for watching.
15:05I am a so-so.
15:06I went down.
15:06This is a Michael on the move on what the fuck t-shirt.
15:09I'm a so-so.
15:10Yeah, I just rediscovered this t-shirt.
15:13I am out.
15:14Peace.
