00:00Toronto Armstead has officially retired from the NFL.
00:03He made his announcement this week at a, an event.
00:07So he has called it a career after 12 seasons, Leroy, the dolphins now know that they are
00:14going into this year, although it seemed like they knew they were just letting him do it.
00:19His little thingy thing that they are going into this year with Patrick Paul as they're
00:23starting left tackle.
00:24Are you nervous?
00:25Um, not really, like, like there's certain things you're gonna have to go through.
00:37It's unfortunate that he wasn't able to get some consistent run so that he would have
00:46more of a feel of what needs to be done or how it needs to be done.
00:50I told you what I would have did.
00:52I would have played him at left guard right next to Tehran and then just kick him out.
00:59And, but what he would learn is how to play with a left guard.
01:07He would learn how to, you know, attack these edge rushers and certain nuances of the position
01:15that Tehran could show him because he's right next to him.
01:21And I think that's a lot of things that, you know, there's been a lot of offensive
01:27linemen who are really talented that they put at different positions just to get them
01:34experience knowing that in a couple of years they're going to move out.
01:38I mean, the one I could think of is when I was in Baltimore and they drafted Jonathan
01:44Ogden, he was a left guard.
01:47Yes.
01:48And then they moved him out.
01:50Like it, it happens like some of the things that I'm talking about when it comes to these
01:54offensive linemen is nothing new, but the one thing that I can say definitively with
02:03all these young players, the only experience that you can get is by going through some
02:10of these lumps in, in actual games, like to just say, Oh, he's ready.
02:16There ain't no way in hell.
02:17Any of these coaches know this guy's ready for the big stage because he's never done
02:22it.
02:23That's always there.
02:24That's always there.
02:25But what I would say is there's two things.
02:26One, first of all, he better be ready because if you're going to have another second round
02:29pick in the last two years, that's not going to contribute to your football team.
02:33Like if you want to talk about more indictments that need to be thrown on Chris Greer, that
02:38is one of them.
02:39The second thing is as awesome as Tehran Armstead is, I am exhausted by him as a fan.
02:48And that is this guessing game about whether or not he's going to play, whether he not,
02:53he's going to be able, cause you know, he's not going to practice.
02:56So that might be something that helps the situation also with the offensive.
03:00I think so.
03:01I just think guys practicing together.
03:03Yeah.
03:04I just think at some point it's gotta be exhausting to play the game of Ken, his knee dial it
03:09up for a week.
03:11And it literally was getting to the point where you're sitting here and I appreciate
03:15him trying to put his body through it.
03:17As I've said many times, I hope to run arms that somebody should have given him a golden
03:19hammock after this was all done, because I can't imagine how happy his body is that this
03:24is done because he literally have games where his knee couldn't function anymore.
03:29But it just got exhausting from a perspective of like, is he going to play?
03:33Is he not going to play?
03:34Okay.
03:35He's out there.
03:36Is he going to be able to last?
03:38You know, now, and just got to the point every time you got to Thanksgiving, you're like,
03:43yeah, this is over.
03:44We know, right.
03:46We know it's, it's, it's not going to be the same for him.
03:50And it takes nothing away from his talent, but it's almost like the poster child for
03:57this three year span is Toronto Armstead.
04:02It's like all the talent in the world, but it's built flimsy.
04:06It's like, it's, it's so, it literally can be taken away like that.
04:10And so it's something about, it's something about going into games as a coach in an organization,
04:18not knowing, especially on this team, who's going to be able to participate.
04:24I think when one of the biggest things that I've told you about offensive line is continuity.
04:30When you look at all the successful offensive lines, go look at how long they've all played
04:35together.
04:36Go look at how many snaps they got together.
04:39And that is a sign of both consistency and being able to get them and coordinate with
04:48the offensive line.
04:49How you want things done, because you're all, you're teaching the same guys, you know, that,
04:56that way of doing things.
04:59When you have to move guys in and out and in and out and a lot of times it wasn't moving
05:03guys in and out for failure.
05:05It was because of injury and you get two or three offensive linemen and now you're shuffling
05:10and now you're shuffling and now you're shuffling.
05:12If this team could get five guys to play 15 plus games together, it's going to look better.
05:24I'm telling it's going to look better and you're not, and it's not going to have anything
05:28to do with, Oh, this guy's a hall of famer or this guy's this.
05:32They're going to figure out how to play together.
05:35And I think it's something they never got an opportunity to do because the guys being
05:40in and out hurt.
05:41And then I can Burke.
05:48When's his retirement announcement.
05:51That dude is going to play for 15 years because he has, I told you why he has a skillset to
05:59where anybody is going to sign him.
06:04Now you might not make a, you know, 20 million a year, but everybody's going to sign him
06:09based on this fact.
06:12He can play the three interior positions.
06:15So somebody is always going to have a guy like that.
06:17One or two guys like that on their team.
06:19You're always going to have those guys on the team.
06:23Use that term play very loosely.
06:24What do you mean?
06:26He can line up at those three positions.
06:29Can he play them well?
06:34Everybody showed up for T-STED though.
06:36You know, it wasn't a, uh, nobody showed up for his birthday party too.
06:39It was there.
06:40Tyreek was there.
06:41Zavian Howard was there.
06:42What a shocker.
06:43Star studded event.
06:44Two was at another party.
06:45He was at Tortuga this weekend.
06:46Of course he was.
06:47Tortua.
06:48I heard a TC and Tina B said that, that he was in the prayer circle for jelly roll.
06:58Whatever.
06:59I know this guy is doing whatever he possibly can to be out and about, you know, jelly roll.
07:05Only talks to God when he needs a favor.
07:10Hey, so it's April dude.
07:17Oh, it's March before it's April now, then it's going to be May, then it's going to be
07:24June.
07:25Okay.
07:26Hold on.
07:27Hold on.
07:28Hold on.
07:29Let me tell you.
07:30Let me tell you why things need to get ramped up now.
07:32Yeah.
07:33Tell me please.
07:34You have mini camp the first week of May.
07:38You can't, you can't go in there, you know, nothing.
07:41You got to do something by then.
07:43I couldn't, he didn't look too chubby in the pictures this weekend though.
07:46I will say he didn't, he didn't look like boat to her when he switched over to the Seltzer
07:50waters now.
07:51I don't know.
07:52You were out of that beach.
07:56You're probably sweating.
07:57He's probably switched.
08:00He switched from beard to white cloth.
08:04You're at a, you're at a, you're at a Tortuga that that's prime for a rum punch.
08:08Oh yeah.
08:09You know, I forgot Tortuga.
08:12Like not only was this weekend was on Fort Lauderdale beach.
08:15I had to go to a wedding rehearsal dinner on Fort Lauderdale beach.
08:19I caught in traffic.
08:20Ludacris was kind enough to sing to me as I was in traffic.
08:23I was like, Oh, Ludacris and Tortuga.
08:25Should I ask boots on the ground and to look fat?
08:28Yeah, please.
08:29I need to know.
08:30I need to know because this guy has been partying it up.
08:33I've seen all season.
08:35All right.
08:36All right.
08:37It's all season.
08:38Like, wait a minute.
08:39Let me ask you, let me ask you a question.
08:42Here's what I would ask.
08:43I would ask you this question.
08:46Yeah.
08:47What could he possibly be doing now to make you feel better about the season in when it
08:54starts up in the end of July, whatever Zach sealers doing sex seal is probably on an RV
09:01somewhere.
09:02Halfway around the country.
09:03I think I saw his Instagram.
09:04He's in Maui.
09:05He's like, yeah, he's in Hawaii to a should be in Maui tapping into his roots and ready
09:12to go back to work, dude.
09:14I'm pretty sure.
09:16So let me ask you this, Marcos.
09:20Yeah.
09:21What indication do you have that he's not working?
09:24The fact that I don't see him working and I see, Oh, so that's, so that's it.
09:30If he's not putting it up on Twitter or Instagram, you assume that he's not working.
09:36Does it exist?
09:37What indication do you have that he is working football?
09:41He's always, he's always worked parties.
09:45No, no, no.
09:46Hey, if there's one thing we could say about two, he puts the work in to get better.
09:51There.
09:52Nobody has ever questioned his work ethic.
09:55Last year it was too much work.
09:56Got too thin.
09:57So again, Marcos again, I would say it's April.
10:06A lot of these guys, I'm going to tell you, I would get up, I would get up early in the
10:12morning.
10:13Yes.
10:14Go work out and then go golfing all day.
10:18And I did that all the way up until may and, and everybody was like, what is Leroy doing?
10:24What is he?
10:25He's working out.
10:26Like, I don't care if you know, I got to get myself ready.
10:31So the fact that your, your complaint of tour being frog boy, let's just say being frog
10:39boy, not the dolphins, not the owner, not Mike McDaniel, not his teammates as frog boy.
10:50Your only complaint to it is, I don't know if he's working out cause he's not putting
10:55it on Twitter or Instagram.
10:56Correct.
10:57You don't know how ridiculous that was.
10:58A lot.
10:59I mean, like in past years, there was more to a workout because he was trying to make
11:05everybody feel good about him being quarterback.
11:08We just, all I've seen in this year is he's partying his ass off.
11:11It seems like he was trying to secure that bag.
11:13And now that he has it, Leroy, why don't you talk about my, what do you say?
11:17So without playing a game, you say he's already experiencing symptoms of fat cat syndrome.
11:22No, no, no.
11:23I thought that when he was sleeping on the bench last game of the season, that was a
11:28good indication that maybe Garfield showing through his uniform, he had a big plate of
11:36lasagna.
11:37Maybe that was the whole point of being jelly rolls.
11:44By the way, I've never felt so bad for a dog that bit me.
11:49What?
11:50Yes.
11:51A dog bit you?
11:53Dre.
11:54Dre.
11:55You know, when you pet him, he like acts like a damn fool, right?
11:58If he's asleep and you pet him, I can get, but guess what?
12:04What?
12:06I want to tip my 40.
12:09Whoa.
12:10Dre's nuts.
12:11Oh.
12:12Wow.
12:13When he was on his way back, I asked Mel, I said, Hey, how's he doing?
12:21She go, listen, he was in the back going, he just been laying around and they have him
12:33on, wait.
12:35So he can either have the cone and the cone is funny because he goes and rams the other
12:40dogs with it.
12:42Right.
12:43It's hilarious.
12:44Or they put the, the body suit, you know, like the horses.
12:48Oh yeah.
12:49He has one.
12:50He has one of those.
12:51He's got pants on.
12:52He just, he just looks like, he says, I look ridiculous.
12:57He just look up.
12:59Oh yeah.
13:00That's Jay fake.
13:01They like that.
13:02Apparently they love it.
13:03They love to get dressed.
13:04I don't know.
13:05That's that.
13:06Listen, that's not a nice little cute doggie sweater.
13:09Yeah.
13:10Got a, a waist trainer on now at this point, took him out.
13:16I feel so bad for him.
13:17He just laying around.
13:18Hit him with that Bob Barker.
13:20Oh yeah.
13:21Like at the end of every episode, by the way, guys, spayed and neutered.
