00:00JPMorgan CEO Jamie Dimon isn't holding back his thoughts on the Trump administration's
00:05tariff policy.
00:06In a letter to shareholders, Dimon said the widespread tariffs will raise prices, weaken
00:10the U.S. economy, and diminish how the rest of the world views the United States.
00:14However, Dimon also called into question President Trump's America First agenda, saying,
00:19America First is fine, as long as it doesn't end up being America alone.
00:23If the Western world's military and economic alliances were to fragment, America itself
00:27would inevitably weaken over time.
00:29The Trump White House has implemented sweeping tariffs on some of America's closest trade
00:33partners.
00:34A new round of reciprocal tariffs announced last week added a 34 percent charge on goods
00:39coming to the U.S. from China, an additional 20 percent from those coming from the European
00:43Union, and 10 percent from the U.K.
00:46That'll do it for your daily briefing.
