00:00The children of those accused of espionage in China believe that they were just forced to confess for their own safety.
00:07Witness, Jonathan Anda.
00:09Chinese state broadcaster CCTV or China Central Television released this video of three Filipinos arrested by China for espionage.
00:24Two men and one woman, based on the CCTV footage, confessed that they were espionage in the Philippines.
00:31We exclusively talked to their family.
00:33And like the National Security Council, they believe that the video was scripted and that the three were just forced to do so.
00:40I don't know anything about it.
00:42The authorities there said that they were following them.
00:48That's a lie.
00:49We also don't know, sir.
00:51If he was forced to do it, it's impossible, sir, for him to be espionage there.
00:56And that's vulnerable.
00:58His personality.
01:00The Chinese media said that the three were recruited by an operative of the Philippine Intelligence Service.
01:06The NSC said that it's not an illegal agency.
01:10The father of one of the arrested Filipinos said,
01:13I hope the government of the Philippines can verify if this is true.
01:16He said that his son was able to chat with his family after he was arrested last January.
01:20He was able to chat with other people who were using his cell phone.
01:24He didn't mention what their crime was when they were under investigation.
01:28How was he arrested, sir?
01:29I think he was arrested in their condo unit.
01:33Seriously, that's it.
01:33The other family who was arrested last said that they will go for a job interview in Wenchang City.
01:39The two families called President Bongbong Marcos to ask him to help bring their children back to the country.
01:46Their response to the children was quick.
01:48They are just going home.
01:50The children are working there.
01:52We are calling the government of the Philippines, the President,
01:57to help them come home to us.
02:00They also called the government of the Philippines to ask them to go to China when the invasion started.
02:06He said that he was able to reach the President.
02:08There is always an instruction to help our Filipino citizens abroad.
02:18Facing these kinds of charges, legal assistance will always be given.
02:24Last Saturday, the National Security Council under Secretary Jonathan Malaya said that
02:29it is possible that China will retaliate for the arrest of our three fellow citizens there
02:33after arresting the three Chinese nationals who were suspected to be spies of China.
02:40Malakanyang said,
02:41We believe that is just a part of the initial investigation.
02:44There is no yet concrete evidence.
02:47If it is really a retaliation or a part of retaliation of the other country,
02:51we will not say that because there is no final investigation on that matter.
