Taiwan's annual Dajia Mazu Pilgrimage has begun, with tens of thousands of participants expected to join the spiritual journey.

00:00The annual Dajia Mazu pilgrimage, town's largest religious procession, is underway.
00:10The nine-day, eight-night event to honor the sea goddess Mazu began in Taichung, central Taiwan.
00:16Covering over 340 kilometers, the pilgrimage will pass through temples across Zhanghua, Rilin and Jiayi counties.
00:23Organizers estimate that more than 600,000 devotees will take part in this year's procession.
