00:00Karumanchi Prasad, from Kakummanam district of Guntur district, is looking for a job.
00:09In the past, he supported the development of his village and school.
00:13But now, he has come forward to solve the problems faced by the farmers of Kammumuru Kalua.
00:20He has donated Rs.10 crore to the Kammumuru Kalua Association.
00:24He has also donated the US dollar to the CM Chandrababu.
00:28Let's talk to Karumanchi Prasad.
00:30Why did you decide to donate to the Kammumuru Kalua Association?
00:34What were the problems faced by the farmers there?
00:38It has been almost 25-30 years.
00:42After 30 years, the existing canal system is still there.
00:48Kalua has become the last resort for everything.
00:50Our village and the surrounding villages.
00:54Farmers are facing problems due to lack of water.
00:57They are not able to cultivate properly.
00:59This is happening.
01:00I have spoken to the villagers many times.
01:03They said that if we plan a lift irrigation scheme from the Kammumuru canal,
01:08it will be a success for these 4-5 villages.
01:17I have a good relationship with the villagers who were born and raised there.
01:21Now that the CM has come, they are encouraging us.
01:25They are saying that they will do whatever they can with the help of public and private participation.
01:32As a farmer, I decided to do this.
01:35Usually, when we go to a higher position,
01:39it is common for some people to not be able to afford education.
01:44But in such a big position, we have to do something.
01:48I feel it is a bit strange to give priority to that.
01:51I started my journey in 1978.
01:56I started my journey as a farmer.
01:59From there, I came to seed production.
02:01From seed production, my business continued.
02:05By the time I reached the age of 95-96,
02:08my financial situation had worsened.
02:10With the thought of doing something for the society,
02:12in 1995-96, I had to give up everything.
02:15It was a government project.
02:18But I could not complete it till 1995.
02:21When I told the farmers that I had a problem,
02:24and asked them to help me,
02:26they helped me with the same rates as the villagers.
02:36I was able to help them that day.
02:39There are 15-16 cows in the same area.
02:43But no one came forward to take 3-4 cows to our village.
02:50After seeing such a situation,
02:52with the intention of helping everyone,
02:56I met the Chief Minister.
02:58I told him about my problem.
03:00I told him that if he could help,
03:04the government would also help me.
03:09I told him that I would pay him Rs. 8-10 crores for the project.
03:15I told him that if he could help me complete the project,
03:18he would definitely help me.
03:20I called the relevant authorities and told them.
03:23You are also in the business of seeds.
03:25You are also in the business of providing seeds to farmers.
03:29Can you give it back to the farmers?
03:32Yes, we are doing it.
03:34We have also started an Agricultural Innovation Centre.
03:39I am focusing on how it can be useful to the farmers,
03:42and what technologies can be used in the future.
03:50It can be an innovation centre in many ways.
03:53I think it is a good idea to start with seeds.
03:58Yes, it is a good idea.
04:00How are the results?
04:02Some scientists have visited your village.
04:04Yes, there are many changes happening in the world.
04:08For example, artificial intelligence, IOTs and drones
04:12are becoming part of the farm mechanisation.
04:14Farm mechanisation will reduce the situation
04:17in which farmers are directly involved in farming.
04:25Similarly, I think modern technologies can be used
04:29to help the farmers.
04:33There is a lot of research being done on this.
04:36Not only in India, but also in the Philippines,
04:41Indonesia, Vietnam and Bangladesh.
04:45We are also looking at other developing countries.
04:47We have to bring the developments that are happening there.
04:52We have to think about what kind of machinery,
04:55equipment and technologies are being used there.
04:59In villages, the number of farmers is decreasing.
05:02The number of farmers is also decreasing.
05:04How can we boost the farmers?
05:08How can people like you come forward?
05:11Do the governments have to form a separate wing?
05:15Yes, definitely.
05:16The government is also thinking about the P4 programme.
05:21We have been doing this for a long time.
05:26This is the reality.
05:28Out of the 100 people in the society,
05:3110 to 15 of them are financially stable.
05:36They are not only self-sufficient,
05:39they are also financially strong in society.
05:43If they can help some people,
05:46the villages will definitely become successful.
05:49If they can help some people,
05:51the villages will definitely become successful.
05:56This is what Karamanasi Prasad says.
05:58I was born and raised in that village.
06:00I drank water from that village.
06:02I ate there.
06:03I can go to the village and the people around me.
06:05I can do anything.
06:07I came forward with this thought.
06:09I am able to solve the water problem in that village.
06:13The government is helping me to do that.
06:16They are happy about that.
06:18As the Chief Minister said,
06:20the P4 programme is a wonderful programme.
06:23Everyone should participate in it.
06:25People who are financially stable,
06:27and the poor people around them,
06:29should help to bring them up.
06:31This is what Karamanasi Prasad says.
