YORKSHIRE'S latest performance venue has opened with a show-stopping season of headline acts, music, comedy, weekend festivals and more.
But hurry - or you will miss it
The Beacon, a towering glass fronted building, is a pop up space tat will be moving on after its month-long stay.
It may look like a new iconic permanent structure but it will be touring parks in the district as part of Bradford 2025 UK City Of Culture.
It has opened its doors in Wibsey Park for the first series of exciting free and pay-for events, running until May 5, before it moves to Bowling, Keighley and Manningham, designed to engage the community and spark imagination during the year to celebrate Bradford’s status.

00:00The Beacon is a temporary pop-up venue here at Wibsey Park.
00:05It's going to be here for four weeks and then it's travelling to Bowling Park for four weeks and then Cliff Castle and then Lister Park.
00:12It's called the Beacon because it's a beacon for culture, creativity and imagination.
00:17We are the first city of culture that is city and district.
00:22It was our commitment to create something and devise and design something that could go to our communities
00:28for them to be able to create programme and be a part of it.
00:31It is a pop-up space and by pop-up that doesn't mean to say that it's up in a day.
00:37Yes, it takes about a week to two weeks for it to be popped up
00:41and for me the fact that communities will fall in love with it, all fingers crossed,
00:47and will feel like that this has delivered something amazing for them and created great memories is part of it.
00:53The kind of events that you can expect to see here are music gigs, stand-up poetry gigs, community takeovers.
01:00We've got the Roma community taking over for an entire day.
01:04This venue is for the communities that it is sited in.
01:08It's also bringing brilliant, brilliant, brilliant events, gigs, shows here to these communities.
01:15We also have the brilliant Woodland Tribe, where children are creating and building,
01:20literally sawing, nailing and designing their own adventure playground.
01:25These young children from primary school might not have the opportunity to do in school,
01:30but that's what having UK City of Culture can do.
01:34These opportunities can be created.
01:37So we're here at the Great Adventure Build, which is with Woodland Tribe Adventure Play Specialists.
01:44This is a really important part of our play programme.
01:47We are really passionate about the role that play has in children's creativity and helping them reach their potential.
01:54And today it's very noisy, we're on site with Woodland Tribe
01:59and we're giving local children access to tools and resources to build the adventure playground of their dreams.
02:05I think Bradford 2025 is the greatest thing that has happened to Bradford
02:09and I think all communities hopefully will feel that.
