00:00and they were screaming.
00:01And I've never been in a movie with that many people before.
00:04It was incredible.
00:05Welcome to Ms. Mojo.
00:07And today, we'll be looking at the most anticipated upcoming movies
00:10featuring actors who had their breakthrough in the early 2020s.
00:14You know what? I'm good.
00:16Because it's not going to happen for me.
00:18If it's not happening here, then it's definitely not happening at Emerson.
00:23The Long Walk.
00:24David Johnson.
00:25So I've got two films coming out this year.
00:27I've got one film, which is a Stephen King adaptation,
00:33myself and Cooper Hoffman, directed by the wonderful Francis Lawrence.
00:36The Long Walk remains one of only a few Stephen King books
00:40yet to receive a screen adaptation.
00:42The first novel King ever wrote, the story unfolds in a dystopian America
00:47where a totalitarian regime forces teenage boys
00:50into a grueling annual walking contest with only one survivor.
00:55After languishing in development hell since 1988,
00:58the film gained momentum in 2023
01:01when Hunger Games director Francis Lawrence was announced to helm the project.
01:05It's one of, if not my favorite, Stephen King novel.
01:11And it was something that actually, like, sort of crossed my desk years ago,
01:14not long after I finished Constantine.
01:16British actor David Johnson, known for his breakout roles in HBO's Industry
01:21and 2024's Alien Romulus, was cast in one of the two leading roles.
01:26It will be Johnson's first film since he won the BAFTA Rising Star Award in 2025,
01:32edging out contenders like Mikey Madison and Jharrel Jerome.
01:36But this award is about the people,
01:40and as long as we keep telling stories about people,
01:43I think there'll be a space for me and for people like me.
01:47The Scurry.
01:48Ella Purnell.
01:49So I've decided I'm not gonna die a virgin.
01:53What? With who?
01:58When two pest controllers respond to a routine call about a vermin infestation,
02:02they unexpectedly find themselves in a battle against something far worse.
02:06A gang of killer squirrels.
02:08That is the delightfully absurd premise of the upcoming comedy horror film The Scurry.
02:14Once the squirrels have been corralled,
02:16and once their claws and teeth have been sharpened,
02:19and once they look real and frightening enough,
02:23then it'll be released, I mean.
02:25Written and directed by Welsh filmmaker Craig Roberts,
02:28The Scurry will star actress Ella Purnell in the lead,
02:32who is best known for her roles in TV shows Yellow Jackets and Fallout.
02:36While a release date hasn't been announced yet,
02:38principal photography on the film took place between April and May of 2024,
02:43so expect this bonkers horror flick to scurry into theaters sometime in 2025.
02:49I think we're all feeling some tension, yeah?
02:54A little stress?
02:57Shadow Force.
02:59Divine Joy Randolph.
03:00After years of delivering standout performances in acclaimed film and TV projects,
03:05Divine Joy Randolph finally received her due recognition
03:09when she won the Best Supporting Actress Oscar for The Holdovers.
03:12Are you out of your mind?
03:14I need a break from YouTube and all your damn bickering.
03:17Besides, I'm looking forward to visiting my little sister.
03:20She's pregnant.
03:21Randolph's return to the big screen following her Academy Award win
03:24will be in the 2025 action thriller Shadow Force.
03:28Led by Kerry Washington and Omar Sy,
03:31the film follows two former operatives of a special forces group
03:35who must protect their family while evading their former teammates.
03:38What do you got?
03:39Two rounds.
03:40I got one.
03:41Do you think maybe I should get the extra?
03:42It's not an extra.
03:44Yeah, but you know, I mean, usually I'm the better shot.
03:47Usually?
03:48Yeah.
03:48Not much is known about Randolph's role,
03:50but brief glimpses in the trailer suggest she plays a secondary character caught up in the chaos.
03:56Thankfully, we won't have to wait long to find out,
03:59as Shadow Force hits theaters in May 2025.
04:02Who's this sentient hunk?
04:04Can we play some music?
04:05You like Wu-Tang Clan, little man?
04:07Wu-Tang Clan ain't nothing to f*** with.
04:10Hurry Up Tomorrow
04:11Barry Keoghan
04:12In 2023, award-winning singer Abel, The Weeknd, Tess Faye,
04:17ventured into television by co-creating and starring in HBO's The Idol.
04:21Can I play you my new song?
04:23Are you desperate to put this specific song out?
04:25No, I'm not desperate to put anything out.
04:26My team is, because everyone in my life is like telling me that it's really great,
04:30but I don't believe that.
04:32Unlike his music, however, the series flopped spectacularly,
04:35but with his upcoming film, Hurry Up Tomorrow,
04:38the singer hopes to turn the tide.
04:40Co-written, produced, and also starring Tess Faye,
04:43this film doubles as a companion piece to his 2025 album of the same name.
04:47It features Oscar-nominated actor Barry Keoghan,
04:51best known for The Banshees of Ina Sheeran,
04:53and his star-making turn in 2023's Saltburn.
04:56Siblings.
04:57No.
04:59And, uh, my parents.
05:01What?
05:03Don't see them that much.
05:04Keoghan will play Lee, opposite Tess Faye and Jenna Ortega,
05:08who stars as Anima.
05:10Anticipation for the film is high,
05:12as Keoghan reportedly chose it as his first major project
05:15following his mainstream breakthrough.
05:18Call me by the old familiar name.
05:22Ivo!
05:25Wake Up Deadman.
05:26Kayleigh Spainey.
05:28Everyone's favorite detective, Benoit Blanc,
05:30returns for another sprawling mystery in Wake Up Deadman.
05:34The third installment in the Knives Out franchise.
05:36But I was obviously right.
05:39Richard is having an affair.
05:40His father-in-law found out and confronted him.
05:43You tell her, or I will.
05:44Like its predecessors, the film boasts an ensemble cast,
05:47featuring industry veterans such as Glenn Close,
05:50Josh Brolin, Jeremy Renner, and Kerry Washington,
05:53alongside fresh talent like Kayleigh Spainey.
05:56The young actress first made waves with her portrayal of Priscilla Presley
06:00in 2023's Priscilla,
06:02and kept the momentum going with acclaimed performances
06:05in Civil War and Alien Romulus.
06:08Wait.
06:11Do you see it?
06:17There.
06:18Spainey's role in the film has been kept under wraps,
06:20but if there's one thing we know for sure,
06:22it's that she's either going to be a victim in a murder or a suspect.
06:26This case confounds me.
06:28Just confounds me.
06:29We don't have a motive for Duke or Bertie.
06:33Do either of you two want to do a session or what?
06:36I'm on the clock.
06:37Frankenstein.
06:38Jacob Elordi.
06:39Acclaimed filmmaker Guillermo del Toro has long dreamed of adapting
06:43the classic horror novel Frankenstein.
06:46In 2023, he finally got his wish when the project was greenlit by Netflix
06:50for a November 2025 release.
06:53I found Frankenstein and Pinocchio to be very moving in that way
06:57because they were journeys into discovering your place in the world.
07:03Del Toro's Frankenstein was initially set to star
07:06Andrew Garfield in the role of the monster,
07:08but scheduling conflicts forced the actor to bow out of the project.
07:12In January 2024, he was replaced by Australian actor Jacob Elordi,
07:16fresh off his buzz-worthy performances in the 2023 films Priscilla and Saltburn.
07:22Hey, that was so kind.
07:24Are you sure?
07:24I mean, it's a bit of a faff going back to college.
07:27Oh, you, you want me to take yours back?
07:29No, no, no, I just, I'm sorry.
07:31I just thought, I thought.
07:32If Bill Skarsgård sent audiences into a frenzy as the titular vampire in 2024's Nosferatu,
07:38we can only imagine the uproar when Elordi lumbers onto the screen as Frankenstein's monster.
07:44I want to show you in a clip.
07:45How's it smell?
07:46Does it smell anything like you?
07:48Smells like, like a, like a, like a washing room.
07:51Like detergent.
07:52That's not bad.
07:53Yeah, you have a good scent too.
07:54You smell very clean.
07:55The Housemaid, Sydney Sweeney.
07:58Does this suck?
08:02Are you worried we're gonna get bored?
08:06No.
08:06The 2022 psychological thriller novel The Housemaid became an instant breakout for author
08:11Freda McFadden, spending weeks on the New York Times bestsellers list.
08:15The story follows a young woman who takes a job as a housemaid for a wealthy couple,
08:20only to realize that things are not as they seem.
08:22Now the titular role will be brought to life by Sydney Sweeney,
08:26adding yet another high-profile project to her resume,
08:29which already boasts Euphoria, The White Lotus, and the 2023 rom-com Anyone But You.
08:35It's harder than you think.
08:36My parents don't even believe it yet.
08:38You told them five seconds ago.
08:39They know I would never go out with a guy like you.
08:42You've been with one guy your entire life.
08:44Jonathan's a better man than you'll ever be.
08:46She will also serve as an executive producer alongside co-star Amanda Seyfried,
08:51with Paul Feig directing.
08:52This highly anticipated adaptation promises to keep audiences on edge
08:56when it arrives in theaters on Christmas Day, 2025.
09:00She's actually clinically insane.
09:02It's the Jalilu for me.
09:04They are living in this big house and they put her in the attic with a cot and an itchy blanket.
09:10Like, red flag.
09:12After the Hunt.
09:13Ayo Edebri.
09:14Since her breakout role as sous chef Sydney Adamu on The Bear,
09:18Ayo Edebri seems unstoppable.
09:21Well, you have to do it again.
09:22What's gonna put us behind is if you keep on doing it for me.
09:24Carmi said that this is how we do it.
09:25I say send it back and cook it again, please and thank you.
09:31The actress has been everywhere, appearing in a wide range of projects,
09:34including Black Mirror, Spider-Man Across the Spider-Verse, Inside Out 2, and Bottoms.
09:40For her next film, Edebri will star in Italian director Luca Guadagnino's latest project,
09:46After the Hunt, opposite Julia Roberts.
09:48Luca is such a visionary.
09:50I think his films speak to that, but he cares so deeply about human beings
09:57and their relationship to each other.
09:59In the film, Roberts plays a college professor who finds herself at a personal
10:03and professional crossroads when Edebri's character, one of her students,
10:07levels an accusation against another professor.
10:10Not much else has been released about the plot,
10:12but if Guadagnino's track record is anything to go by,
10:16expect a visually stunning and emotionally complex drama.
10:20So, how often does this happen?
10:25I don't know.
10:26Going after the same girl?
10:27Not as often as you think, actually.
10:28Really?
10:29Caught Stealing, Austin Butler.
10:31I heard that the director told you that it described your character
10:35as a psychopath sword master mixed with Mick Jagger.
10:39Right.
10:39Set in the gritty chaos of 1990s New York,
10:42Darren Aronofsky's 2025 crime thriller, Caught Stealing,
10:46marks his highly anticipated follow-up to 2022's The Whale.
10:50Based on Charlie Houston's book of the same name,
10:53the film follows Hank Thompson,
10:55a former baseball player who was thrown into a brutal fight
10:58for survival in the city's criminal underworld.
11:00Stepping up to the plate as Thompson is Oscar-nominated actor Austin Butler,
11:04fresh off the rave reviews for his turn as Faye Rotha Harkonnen in Dune Part 2.
11:13Who will sit on the throne?
11:17Faye Rotha Harkonnen.
11:20Known for his intense dedication to every role,
11:22Butler is sure to bring that same raw energy to this project.
11:26He will be joined by renowned performers like Regina King,
11:29Zoe Kravitz, Matt Smith, and Liev Schreiber.
11:33Well, the network wants me to do a ballad.
11:36I'm thinking about cutting it up with Hound Dog.
11:38Oh, Elvis Presley, Hound Dog.

12:07The Odyssey tells the story of Odysseus' perilous 10-year journey home to Ithaca
12:12after the Trojan War.
12:13As he makes his way back, he's forced to contend with interruptions from the gods
12:17and other mythical creatures.
12:19Indeed, the upcoming 2026 epic has made headlines for its star-studded ensemble cast,
12:25including names like Matt Damon, Anne Hathaway, Tom Holland, Lupita Nyong'o,

12:47Touted as Nolan's most ambitious project to date,

12:59Shot across breathtaking locations in Morocco, Italy, and Greece,
13:04this cinematic spectacle has everyone counting down the days.
