00:00First in our news, President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. ordered the construction of more Child Development Centers or CDCs in the barangay

00:09to focus on early education and education of children.

00:19A good future for the youth, that's what President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. gave

00:26following the signing of the Joint Circular for the establishment of Child Development Centers in the country.

00:31The Joint Circular aims to clarify the guidelines or guidelines for local governments to build Child Development Centers or CDCs.

00:40According to the President, it is not only the economy, food, and infrastructure that the government focuses on,

00:47as well as the steps like this that truly focus the attention of education in the country.

00:53These CDCs are venues for the implementation of early childhood care and development center programs and services,

01:06especially the Early Learning Programs and Family Support Program.

01:10In these centers, our youth can play, read, and study.

01:19It can also be used as a resource center for developmentally appropriate learning materials in a laboratory

01:26for conducting research, data gathering, and innovations about early childhood.

01:31Another point of the President, it is important to focus on early childhood development of children

01:36because this will serve as a pathway for the establishment of a youth foundation

01:41that will be a major contribution to the foundation of the country.

01:45The target is to build 300 CDCs where low-income barangays without CDCs will be given priority.

01:53According to the Joint Circular, LGUs should submit their budget request through the DBM Apps Portal

02:01where the DepEd will review and recommend the qualified projects.

02:07Once approved, the funds will be given to LGUs that should be able to walk on 150 square meters of land

02:14and meet operational expenses such as teachers' wages and electricity and water bills.

02:20For this year, we have identified 328 low-income barangays that will now be provided with funding

02:28for them to access early childhood development initiatives.

02:32Of this number, 89 will be in Luzon, 106 will be in the Visayas, 133 in Mindanao, including BARB.

02:42The President also said that the CDC is only a small part of the solution.

02:46That is why he also called for other government programs, including the First 1000 Days of Life Program

02:53to study the health and nutrition of children in the first 1,000 days.

02:58The Supplementary Feeding Program, School-Based Feeding Program, and No Hunger Program for Vulnerable Sectors are also included.

03:28The President urged LGUs and their parents to do the right thing for the success of the program.
