00:00With the death of one of the four victims who sustained gunfire injuries along the Marcus Highway over the weekend,

00:06the principal suspect in Antipolo's road rage incident is facing upgraded charges as a result.

00:12Meanwhile, the Volunteers Against Crime and Corruption hailed the quick response

00:16by Antipolo police who caught up with the suspect and put him away into custody.

00:21Likewise, the VACC reminds the public to always be discreet and patient in the face of burning anger,

00:27which almost always ends up in regret as Rocky Lasigas reports.

00:34Multiple cases are now being faced by the suspect in the recent road rage incident in Antipolo City.

00:39According to Antipolo PNP Chief of Police Lieutenant Colonel Ryan Manondo, the filed cases include murder,

00:45two counts of frustrated murder, and violation of the election gun ban. In the incident,

00:50one of the four victims died. Meanwhile, the suspect's partner, who was also injured, withdrew from filing a complaint.

01:21The Volunteer Against Crime and Corruption, or VACC, praised the police for their swift action in apprehending the road rage suspect in Antipolo City last Sunday.

01:35The VACC advised the public not to let anger consume them as regret always comes too late.

01:41The PNP leadership has also ordered the Highway Patrol Group to search and inspection in checkpoints in various locations nationwide.

01:48This came after a motorist driving a sports utility vehicle shot at others in Antipolo last Sunday,

01:54resulting in three injuries and one death.

01:57It's really included. We don't have an exemption. But I guess our people, the flow of traffic that we're chasing,

02:06remember, it's noticeable.

02:08The motorcycles cause so much disruption in the flow of traffic. But we'll make a study to end that.

02:16PNP Chief Police General Rommel Francisco Marbil stressed that not only motorcycles,

02:21but also four-wheel vehicles should be subject to inspection at checkpoints.

02:25However, the National Police Chief emphasized that the Plainview Doctrine should be followed during checkpoint operations.

02:31This means police officers cannot search a vehicle's interior unless there is sufficient reason or legal basis.
