CCTV footage captured the moment a drunken man turned up at a home in Northfleet with a metal baseball bat after earlier smashing up his own flat.

00:13but had not intended to use it. Arriving at about 9.30pm, the man was reportedly known to the
00:19homeowner, who later called the police after opening the door and asking him why he had the
00:23weapon. Officers attended moments later and he was detained. A probation officer who interviewed
00:29the North Fleet man told the court that he was emotional after a fallout with his family,
00:33leading him to drinking lager and smashing his phone. He then got the bat and started
00:38hitting his wall. After this, he said he was cornered and attacked by a frustrated neighbour
00:42before going to this house with the bat. Magistrates called Daniel Babb's actions
00:47intimidating and sentenced him to a 12-month community order, 100 hours of unpaid work
