00:00Safety at work is a central element of Saipem's strategy, as demonstrated by the commitment of the leading company in offshore and onshore engineering to further improve it.
00:13In fact, it uses not only new technologies and cutting-edge methods, but also has written a specific strategic plan and created a foundation dedicated to health and safety.
00:24For us, safety is a value, a value that goes beyond the concept of safety first of all. For Saipem, working in safety means always adopting virtuous behaviours.
00:37Our strategy is based on an integrated management system. We have understood that this alone is not enough. Rules and procedures are not enough. We have to put people at the centre and influence virtuous behaviours through the development of leadership, of safety leadership. Because leaders create safety, leaders change results.
00:58For Saipem, safety is not just the absence of accidents, but also and above all the presence of protections and precautions aimed at preventing high-risk events. This approach is based on human performance, technology and integrity of the assets.
01:13In 2024, we decided for the first time to develop a strategic plan entirely dedicated to health and safety aspects. This is to be able to achieve a paradigm shift and therefore consistently eliminate fatal and serious accidents from our company and therefore normalise a very important result achieved in 2024, where we closed the year without fatal accidents.
01:41This paradigm shift therefore involves the transition from defining a safe place as a place without accidents to a place where prevention and mitigation measures are present and effective and work when necessary. This is to always work in safety, but above all to make mistakes without getting hurt.
02:03To promote cultural and behavioural change in favour of health and safety in all areas, Saipem launched the LHS Leadership in Health and Safety Foundation in 2010.

02:45We start with events, schools, associations, industry and we do it through unconventional communication, which is our method of leadership in health and safety. Unconventional communication that relies on a language, the language of cinema, the language of theatre, the language of music, to reach the hearts of people.
