00:24Audrey, the Department of Health will hold the Media Health Literacy Conference in Bataan to strengthen the implementation of the Mandatory Basic Immunization Act that provides free vaccines to children and infants to avoid diseases such as the Human Papilloma Virus.
00:41It is also timely because of the increasing number of cases of measles in some regions of the country that the Department of Health is monitoring.
00:49That is why the agency's target is to conduct a wide-ranging measles catch-up immunization in different parts of the Philippines so that the spread of measles can be contained.
00:58Although the disease is contagious, the spread of measles can be contained through vaccines and the maintenance of cleanliness of the body and surroundings is different.
01:07The government is also urging the public to visit the nearest health center in their area for additional information on free vaccines.
01:18This is also in line with the advice of the administration of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. to strengthen the health sector.
01:27In fact, the E-Priority Programs of the Department of Health will also discuss vaccination.
01:33The Vaccine Hesitancy will also discuss some of the challenges that health workers face in vaccinating people with misinformation and lack of education about vaccines.
01:44It has been proven that 6 out of 10 Filipino youths are vaccinated in a survey conducted in 2021.
