00:00And I think people have connected with it more than anything because right now,
00:04particularly in the UK, there is a feeling of helplessness amongst a lot of youth.
00:10And I think that it highlights that it's multifaceted.
00:13You can't just look at a child who acts in a way that's intolerable
00:17and absolutely unsophisticated in the way that they carry it out,
00:22and also just totally inexcusable.
00:24You can't just look at them and say, well, it's the problem on you.
00:28I think one of the things that the series has caught fire for
00:31is because essentially it's trying to unravel the fact that there is a social responsibility,
00:34and we're all part of that social fabric.
00:36It's too easy to say, well, this person's to blame.
00:39We have to think, well, what is the narrative going on?
00:41What are the stories being told?
00:42What are the sites being accessed?
00:44And most importantly, why?
00:47Why are young people doing these things?
00:49Why is knife violence in the UK going through the roof?
00:52Why is adolescent crime increasing?
00:55These are questions that can't just affect the individual.
00:57They have to be something that the whole society around it
01:00understands and takes some responsibility for.
01:02And I think that's probably why it's provoked such a reaction,
01:04because every parent, every child has some relationship
01:09with the themes that are happening right now.
