00:00Hi, my name is Bethany Wright. Last year I was diagnosed with a grade 3 astrocytoma.
00:16Shane got in contact with me through Facebook and set up a fundraising page and has managed
00:22to raise such a good amount of money to help me and my partner Cameron put the money towards
00:28our wedding which we didn't think we would be able to have. My plans for the future are
00:33to spend as much time with family, get to watch Alfie grow up, be a mum and yeah, just
00:40don't want to miss out on anything with Alfie. My name is Shane Yerrell and I read Bethany's
00:44story on the Daily Record. After I read the story I found myself feeling really sad. She's
00:50so young and she's only just become a mum. So I put a comment on the post on Facebook
00:54and just said if anyone knows Bethany, please reach out. I asked if there's anything she
00:58wanted to do and she explained that the one thing she wanted to do was to marry her partner
01:02before she becomes too unwell. So that's why I set up the Just Giving page to help her
01:07have a special day that she deserves. I found it really sad that somebody so young is fighting
01:12a brain tumour and she's just become a mum and I just want her to have a special day.
01:16So I hope that the money raised from the page helps her to enjoy the special day that she
01:20deserves. I feel really proud of you, like even talking to you on the phone, you're so
01:24strong and if I was ill, as ill as you are, I would like to be the way you are. You're
01:30so strong and you're always so positive. So just stay as you are, stay true to yourself.
01:35You're so inspirational because a lot of people could be really negative going through what
01:39you're going through and you're on the phone, on the voice note, you're always really sweet
01:43and upbeat. I know, I just like you positive. That's all you can do. Your little boy must
01:47be proud as well. Bless him. Got to keep going for them. Got to keep going.
