00:00Then you say we feel like we can do better
00:03Really?
00:04Yeah, so much so that we fired that guy and we wouldn't gave 40 million dollars to this guy because he's the best manager
00:12in baseball and
00:14Then you look at that move and you get you say giddy up. Let's ride that that's supposed to be the thing where
00:21They've hired of an eight million dollar a year manager
00:25Surely then they're gonna spend money on the actual roster
00:30Because they spend 40 million dollars on the manager and then that doesn't happen
00:35And then you have another season where you kind of Peter out at the end of the season
00:42And then you walk into this season like alright
00:45We've given the manager a year to figure out what he needs to know about the Cubs as an organization
00:52Surely now things are going to give that's how I am looking at this
00:58Just from what I see from Cubs fans, right?
01:01I and let me tell you to be clear. I do I am NOT where I watch all these games
01:08I was mad and it is worth picking through some of the the issues that the Cubs had this weekend
01:14I'm still comfortable that this bullpen, which I thought looked pretty good in the offseason will eventually
01:21Be good and they will get into rhythm and then they're gonna be just fine
01:25But but back to Craig counsel
01:27but the Cubs told you when they hired him when they did all the things that you said they ditched beloved David Ross and
01:33Handed him crazy money to be the manager. They told you that one of your co-hosts tomorrow. It does not like to hear
01:41Managers matter they told you the Cubs organ Jed Hoyer said the manager
01:47Matters and should be difference-making and so while I'm not ready to close the lid on Craig counsel and say somehow
01:55he's a bad manager and like he's making mistakes and all of that kind of stuff, but
01:59The pressure that Cubs fans are putting on him. I get it
02:03I understand that he's supposed to be an MVP manager. Eventually. He should make a difference for the Cubs
