00:00As April begins, many Filipino devotees are preparing for the solemn observance of Holy Week.

00:05In anticipation of the influx of travelers and churchgoers,

00:09the Philippine National Police or PNP is set to enforce stricter security measures

00:14in transport terminals, churches and other public areas across the country.

00:18PTV correspondent Christian Bascones tells us more.

00:24As the month of April begins, many devotees are now preparing for the observance of Holy Week.

00:29One such clan is the Grisosoma family, owners of the image of La Fieta.

00:33They have started early in preparing the religious image to be paraded during

00:37Holy Week and in organizing prayer sessions.

00:51According to them, their strong faith has greatly helped them in life,

00:54especially during times of great difficulty.

00:56For them, Holy Week is not just a tradition, but a time for reflection and a spiritual renewal.

01:27Meanwhile, the Philippine National Police or PNP is also prepared to implement stricter

01:34security measures for the upcoming Holy Week, according to PNP Spokesperson and

01:38Information Office Chief Brigadier General Gene Fajardo. To ensure public safety,

01:43PNP personnel will be deployed to several key locations, including transport terminals,

01:47churches and other public places that are expected to be crowded during holiday.

01:56We will also deploy police assistance to major transportation hubs and terminals,

02:04because we expect many people will travel during the summer vacation.

02:10Of course, because it's Holy Week, we will monitor churches and even tourist destinations.

02:20Of course, we will also monitor the streets throughout the country, because even though we are

02:29busy and we are focused on various campaign sorties, we cannot neglect these places of

02:37convergence so that we will not get lost in the security and safety of our countrymen.

02:45On the other hand, Ticketing Officer Shaira May Tulisana stated that they are expecting
