00:00When I think of the word girlhood, I really feel it's about a sense of community and
00:12like catching each other.
00:14I think of women empowering women.
00:16It's always going to be about support, feeling loved, feeling surrounded with great energy.
00:22And I really feel that around my sisters, especially when we're just doing a random
00:26board game night.
00:28It's those little moments and celebrations with your family or your friends that remind
00:33you that it's really nice to be alive.
00:36Girlhood brings me back to carefree days of curiosity, dreaming big, and believing anything
00:41is possible.
00:42So when I think of girlhood, I think about a leader.
00:46And I've seen a lot of women or girls that were presidents of our org or has a position
00:54in the council.
00:56And I feel like that really helped me follow their steps.
01:02The first memory that comes into mind when I hear the word girlhood is that of me watching
01:06Mulan and seeing the words, who is that girl I see over and over again.
01:11For me, Mulan is a powerful symbol of girlhood because of how she defied restrictive gender
01:15roles and how she embraced her identity beyond labels.
01:19Girlhood for me was also a period in time when I was trying to get comfortable in my
01:23own skin, understanding what I like doing, who I actually am, and just what I'm comfortable
01:31with.
01:32Masaya.
01:33Yung unfiltered na masaya.
01:34Yung hindi ka-conscious.
01:35It reminds me of the support system that I have and the community that I serve as well.
01:42When it was just me and my three girls, so we were four like a squad, they were my life.
01:48They were what made me feel strong and confident in school when I felt weak.
01:52So that is my girlhood memory.
