Police have remanded the lorry driver involved in a fatal crash at KM50.8 of the Kuala Lumpur-Karak Expressway for four days to assist in the investigation.

Bentong OCPD Supt Zaiham Mohd Kahar also confirmed that the driver tested negative for drugs but had four prior traffic summonses.

The victims were identified as 29-year-old Wong Kean Yeap, his sister Wong Hwee Moon, 34, and their mother, Lee Lai Cheng, 61.

00:25was negative for drugs, but revealed that he had four prior traffic summonses.
00:31Earlier, Superintendent Zai Ham identified the victims as 29-year-old Wong Heen Yip,
00:38the driver of the Honda Accord, along with his sister, 34-year-old Wong Hui Moon, and
00:44their mother, 61-year-old Lee Lai Cheng.
00:47Three other passengers in the Honda, a 33-year-old local man, a five-year-old boy, and a three-year-old
00:54girl, sustained injuries and were taken to Bentong Hospital for treatment.
00:59The 29-year-old lorry driver was also injured, while the driver and passengers of the other
01:04vehicles escaped unharmed.
01:07Initial investigations revealed that the crash occurred when a three-ton lorry travelling
01:12from Kuantan to Kuala Lumpur skidded, struck the road divider, and veered into the opposite
01:18lane, colliding with four other vehicles.
01:22The case is being investigated under Section 41, Subsection 1 of the Road Transport Act,
01:281987.
01:29Superintendent Zai Ham urged any witnesses to come forward to assist in the investigation.
