00:00our consciousness, the unity and will of a people who does not want to be colonized.
00:08We will continue with our own path, our own model.
00:19And that has been – and I thank you for your shared solidarity of many voices throughout
00:28Latin America and the Caribbean – concerning the shameful way in which Venezuelan migrants
00:46have been treated and taken to a concentration camp in El Salvador.
00:51It's a shameful episode.
00:54It's a world-disgusting event.
01:02I was talking the other day with the United Nations General Secretary Antonio Guterres.
01:10Yesterday, I also spoke with the High Human Rights Commissioner.
01:21I asked them both, as high United Nations authorities as they are, so that the Government
01:29of El Salvador were to be judicially responsible and may provide a list of the Venezuelan migrants
01:41kidnapped in El Salvador.
01:43Today, it's been 15 days since the forced disappearance.
01:50They never committed a crime.
01:53They have not been processed for any crime in the United States.
02:00Most of them, most of the ones that we know that are kidnapped, although no authority
02:07from – neither from the United States or El Salvador has given an official report
02:14on them detailing who has been kidnapped, who has been put in jail in El Salvador.
02:27We know the stories of young migrants who were, for instance, barbers, musicians, artists,
02:37journalists, soccer players, workers in general.
02:48Many of them had made an appointment.
02:56I've become an expert on these issues, Bruno, as you were said today.
03:02They use it as a political weapon, migration.
03:09They create – they put on sanctions.
03:11They create economic – hard economic situations in our countries, and then they stimulate
03:17migration from those countries, like from Cuba and Venezuela and many of our countries.
03:22They promoted that migration.
03:27They created the human traffickers at the Mexican border, the coyotes.
03:41The opposition in Venezuela is involved in this, and there is proof of that in the hands
03:49of FBI and CIA.
03:51They have ample proof of that.
03:58They foster this migration from our countries into the United States, and as –
04:13in order for them to enter the United States, they have to declare that they have reasonable
04:20fear, a statement where they say that Venezuela is a dictatorship and they are afraid to go
04:28back to that country.
04:37Some migrants have told me, which we have saved from that kidnapping policy of the United
04:43States.
04:44Tomorrow, we have another plane arriving tomorrow with rescued migrants through the coming back
04:50to the homeland plan.
04:55I have – I have been told by mothers of migrants who have been kidnapped into El Salvador
05:02and others who are running – are on a lodge because they're being persecuted as delinquents.
05:09Many of them came from neighborhoods in Caracas.
05:15They paid those coyotes $5,000, anywhere from $5,000 to $10,000.
05:28I know a case from a neighborhood close to this place who paid $5,000 and he was taken
05:36to Atlanta.
05:37And in five weeks, he went from his neighborhood to Atlanta.
05:42Along the way, the Darien and up to the border, he was met at the border.
05:52He signed that statement of reasonable fear and, OK, you're welcome into the United States.
06:01Another woman would tell me about her son.
06:04In five weeks, again, he went to Pennsylvania or North Carolina.
06:08Do you know what you're talking about?
06:12I show her a map.
06:14That is the deep United States, which is different.
06:18It would be different to say, OK, they arrived in Texas or Houston, Dallas.
06:25They had a plan to locate these people.
06:30The U.S. government would rather wage this fake campaign against Venezuela, that this
06:41was a programmed invasion of delinquents into the United States.
06:49That's a lie that no one in the United States believes, not even the people who are saying
06:54that, because the migrants, for economic reasons, that went into the United States
07:01were stimulated by the Americans and by coyotes and were placed on main cities in the United
07:11States.
07:12And most of, pretty much all of them, are good working people, working for themselves,
07:21for their families.
07:24Now they want to justify, with a big lie, all the economic aggressions against Venezuela.
07:33But we are denouncing this fake campaign to pretend to justify this violating human rights
07:46treatment of these migrants, talking about human trafficking, when they are the ones
07:55responsible for all this human trafficking.
07:59Those migrants were victims in Venezuela of the economic sanctions, and now they are victims
08:05of this persecution.
