00:00COMELEC has passed the wide-ranging Oplan Baklas today along with the start of the local campaign period.
00:08This is the story of Bernard Ferrer.
00:12The track of the MMDA in Tayuman, Lungsod, Manila was filled with illegal campaign materials.
00:18This is part of the Oplan Gran Baklas which is a long list of campaign materials that fell into the hands of COMELEC.
00:24This is also the first day of the campaign of the local candidates for the HATOL of BAYAN 2025.
00:30According to COMELEC chairman George Garcia, this has been a long-awaited campaign because back then,
00:35the candidates were just aspirants.
00:37But now, they are official candidates who need to follow the guidelines of the agency.
00:42The illegal campaign posters will be donated to the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology to be recycled.
00:48Starting tomorrow, COMELEC will send a letter to the candidates
00:52to have their campaign materials placed in the wrong place.
00:56If they do not follow the guidelines within three days, COMELEC will issue a shocker's order.
01:01This could result in a disqualification or election offense that has a penalty of imprisonment of up to six years.
01:08I hope you can train the candidates first on where to place them,
01:12what should be placed, and what is the size of the campaign materials to be placed.
01:17Because if we let them be, they will be placed anywhere.
01:21As for the posters that will be placed on private property,
01:24COMELEC will place a limit of 2 by 3 meters and will use environmental-friendly materials.
01:30COMELEC does not allow the public to report the illegal campaign materials that can be seen in their places.
01:36COMELEC will strictly monitor the airtime or advertisements of 44,000 candidates on television,
01:42radio, newspaper, and social media to ensure that it is included in their statement of contributions and expenditures.
01:49Because on the first day, they have expenses.
01:52Are those reported? Are the donations included? Are the expenses included?
01:57Is there anything left? And did the income tax pay the remaining amount to our DIR?
02:02MMDA just reminded that they will not issue a permit for motorcades on the roads that are under their jurisdiction
02:10on weekdays to avoid the heavy traffic.
02:13Motorcades will only be allowed on weekends and holidays.
02:16The Philippine National Police increased their alert status
02:20to ensure the safety of the local candidates when the campaign starts.
02:25In Manila, Mayor Hany Laguna and his party members held a worship service early
02:29at Our Lady of Fatima Church in Bacoon, Santa Mesa.
02:32Meanwhile, Sisko Moreno rode a motorcade on Road 10 with his party members.
