00:00What a joy to be here today. I really congratulate you. This is a phenomenal achievement and so well
00:08deserved. It is not easy, it is really not easy to achieve a King's Award for Voluntary Service.
00:17It's extremely roughly contested as you can imagine and very, very rigorously assessed. So
00:24I'll absolutely be delighted to be here and beating heart, what's obviously the beating
00:28heart of your wonderful CCDT but also the beating heart of the organisation which frankly is you.
00:37I mean your vision and your dedication and your perseverance to what you believe is right has
00:47achieved so much and I'm so proud and it should be here in West Sussex that this is the kind of
00:54template for it's got to be the way forward. What exactly you're giving must be a way forward
01:01for communities really all over our nation. I just take my hat off to you, it is thrilling.
01:09Our buildings are exo-essential but as we found we were able to operate under a very small
01:15lodge to start off with. What is the beating part of this service is the people who operate
01:20through those buildings. Staff yes but there are only six all-time equivalent members of staff
01:26at CCDT and it's the volunteers who could actually turn those buildings into services
01:34that people value, come back week after week to receive and really, really appreciate.
