A powerful 7.7-magnitude earthquake hit central Myanmar on Friday afternoon (March 28), buckling roads in Naypyidaw, damaging buildings, and forcing people to flee into the streets.

In Thailand, tremors were strongly felt, and local media reported that a skyscraper under construction in Bangkok’s Chatuchak district collapsed, leaving at least 43 workers missing.
