00:15Kluang OCPD Assistant Commissioner Barin Mohamad Noh said the accident occurred when the lorry's
00:21front right tyre burst, causing the driver to lose control.
00:25The lorry then brushed against a car before veering into the opposite lane and crashing
00:29into two other cars.
00:31One of the cars caught fire, but all its passengers were pulled out before the vehicle was engulfed
00:37in flames.
00:38However, the driver and passenger of the second car died at the scene.
00:44Among the victims was a two-year-old girl who also perished on sight, while her parents
00:49succumbed to their injuries on the way to the hospital.
00:52Their three other children, aged between four and nine, sustained serious injuries and are
00:57currently receiving medical treatment.
01:00Police have detained the lorry driver for further investigation under Section 41, Subsection
01:051 of the Road Transport Act 1987 on charges of causing death by reckless or dangerous
01:11driving.
