00:22But make no mistake, J.J. McCarthy is going to be QB1.
00:26We've gotten to know J.J. McCarthy a little bit, even though he's done limited media
00:29appearances because he's just an enigma.
00:32He was at Michigan, too, meditating at the goalpost.
00:36And even after he got injured and tore his meniscus in the preseason game that ended
00:40his rookie season, he tweeted out Amor Fati, which is Latin for love of fate or love of
00:45one's fate.
00:47He's OK.
00:49He is just a very unique person, and he's very confident of what what is out in front
00:53of him.
00:54So why is the national media now starting to paint him as this egomaniac?
01:01It doesn't make any sense.
01:03He said on Up and Atoms that the Vikings have not told him that he's QB1 going into the
01:07year, and he wants it that way.
01:09He likes it because he wants to earn it.
01:12The Vikings want him to earn it, too, even if the quarterback competition is somewhat
01:15of a farce.
01:16If they end up bringing in Ryan Tannehill, which was they have had discussions about
01:20bringing him in, according to Jordan Schultz over the weekend.
01:24Well, even so.
01:28Like even if they have that farce of a competition, he's going to be the quarterback.
01:33But Stephen A. Smith and Shannon Sharpe on first take took it a step further.

01:45What does he want them to roll up the red carpet for him?

02:14It's hard to cover all 32 teams.
02:18You can't know the minutiae details of everyone, but at least try at least try to make an effort.
02:24They try to understand who J.J. McCarthy is and what the Vikings are trying to do.
02:30It's just so clear that it's not in their best interest to do so, and it's very frustrating.
