00:00I've had to put on weight. I mean, getting paid to eat, why not? Definitely.
00:08You never work out and after that be like, I hate it.
00:11I've always played the girl next door so far.
00:16Tell me, how do you achieve your work and, or at least balance your work and fitness goals?
00:21So, I think that, you know, I mean, when we're not working, you can choose your timings, everything.
00:29But getting that routine in while working and especially when it's like a 7 to 7 shift or a night shift,
00:34sometimes I feel like I'm pushing myself and my body doesn't want to work out or, you know.
00:40When we talk about fitness, I don't think it's just physical exercise.
00:45I think it's even your, you know, your sleeping pattern, your food intake and that became so important.
00:51So, that's why for me, it's a more holistic approach.
00:55And now in lockdown, I've enjoyed doing yoga.
00:57And I think doing that, not just physically, but even mentally just makes me really, really happy
01:02and gives me that peace and calm that I want to just take over the day.
01:07So, I think that's something I can easily manage to do while shifting, maybe post-backup.
01:12But tell us a little bit about your, you know, fitness journey.
01:16Have you like always been, you know, been this kind of fitness conscious about like working out and doing whatever?
01:23Or is it just because of the movies?
01:25Okay, touch wood, honestly, I've not been on the heavier side.
01:28I do put on weight and lose it equally fast.
01:32Growing up, I love dancing and swimming and I would constantly be doing some form of physical activity after school.
01:39But when I got into the movies, I consciously made an effort to make it a part of my routine.
01:45And just like you brush your teeth or do anything else, I said, no, I have to take up that one hour and do something.
01:51And I feel like, you know, I read this somewhere where it says, we all get really like, oh my God, I don't want to go to the gym.
01:58You know, I don't want to go for my workout or a run or whatever.
02:01But there's never been a bad workout.
02:03Like you never work out and after that be like, I hate it.
02:05And feel like, oh God.
02:06Yeah.
02:07So, finally, I think because you've experienced that, you know that it's just about getting yourself to the gym or to the track or to the dance class or wherever you have to go.
02:17Whatever form of workout you like doing.
02:19And I'm not somebody who can do like fat diets or like keto or intermittent.
02:23The healthiest I do, which you've seen on set, is like eating homemade food.
02:27And for me, it's boiled without, you know, too much masala.
02:30And it's usually the same food, which I genuinely enjoy eating.
02:34So, for me, I would look forward to my okra and my salmon and my pumpkin.
02:38Yeah.
02:39Oh God.
02:40Those are the things which I love.
02:41Till now, Kiara, have you ever had to work on your body for a role?
02:45And would you like gain weight for like a Bridget Jones diary kind of film or something?
02:50I would love to.
02:51I haven't had to.
02:52I've always played the girl next door so far.
02:55But I would love to.
02:57And actually, I'd really love to do an action film where I have to get those abs and I have to get those toned legs.
03:05And, you know, just like flaunt it and do all of that and do all the tricks and like do gymnastics.
03:10Because it's something which I feel you'll do it, you'll take it even more seriously when you know you're working towards that role.
03:16But if I had to put on weight, I mean, getting paid to eat, why not?
03:20Definitely.
03:21You're open to taking up the challenge for different roles.
03:25Totally.
03:26I did.
03:27Even in Kabir Singh at the end, because I was pregnant, my director wanted me to look a little fuller.
03:33Because in the film, I play a very young girl and then it just suddenly flashes to when she's pregnant.
03:38So for that particular scene, I remember him telling me, he said, have some red wine or have some meat.
03:44I don't, you know, I'm a teetotaler, I don't drink at all.
03:47So I'm like, that I don't do.
03:48He's like, eat some meat.
03:49But that day I said, I'll eat paratha, I'll do whatever.
03:52I had like extra salt in my food, which I don't have at all.
03:55And sometimes I really cut down on that.
03:57So I enjoyed my food so that I had that little fuller look at the end.
04:00So yeah, I would, I would if I was asked to, I guess.
04:03So now you have to be honest with me.
04:06Which actress are you envious of from a fitness level?
04:09Not jealous, but like just envious of somebody's body.
04:13Yeah, I mean, there's so many.
04:15Deepika and Katrina.
04:16I don't, I mean, like how?
04:19I think they work really hard at it and they're just gifted also.
04:23And also they like got such a beautiful height.
04:26That's exactly.
04:28That's crazy.
04:29Since it's all about breaking the ice, I really wanted to ask you,
04:33who broke the ice first, you or Saif?
04:36Well, I think you know me.
04:38I love, I'm a chatterbox.
04:39I love talking and I'm quite like open.
04:41So, and Saif's actually quite reserved in a way, like at first,
04:45I think especially in female company.
04:48At least that's what he projects.
04:50But, so I had to break the ice first.
04:52And, and yeah, like I was doing all the talking,
04:55all the kind of like, you know, kind of like being like really chummy and stuff.
04:59So he must have wondered like, okay, like what's going on?
05:02So I think it was, it was me.
05:05Lucky, he's entertained for life with you and I.
